Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning ~
Happy Tuesday!
It's been so windy and cold here the past couple of days. I don't mind the chillier weather but I hope the winds die down soon. Anyway, I plan on finishing my Thanksgiving food shopping today. I hope to get to the supermarket early. I'll head out after I finish cooking breakfast for everyone. Other than that, I need to dye my hair. I never made it to the salon. I may also run to the store later this afternoon for a new outfit to wear on Thursday. Depends on how my day goes and how Maggie's doing. No big deal if I can't though, I already know what I'm going to wear if I can't make it to the store. That's about it for me. Tomorrow I'll start cooking & baking. So exciting!

And the figures don't lie, it really is nearly Thanksgiving!
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 2 (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, GUYS!)
Days to Christmas Day: 33 (Moving dangerously close to the one month mark!)
(So far, so fast!)


Well, the wind died down yesterday but it was still chilly, albeit sunny.
This afternoon is predicted to begin a slow warming trend that should see us fairly comfortable on Thanksgiving Day.
Right now, we are settled in at 32 degrees here in our little section of the great MMC Nation.

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday!!
TWO days until Thanksgiving! So hard to believe! Probably about tomorrow I will go into panic mode - "How am I going to get this all done?" LOL! We have 32 coming for the meal, 45 total stopping through the day/evening. We also have lunch at my in-laws, so Thursday will be rush, rush, rush! We need to get to Moms to pick up her tables & chairs & then figure where we are going to seat everybody! It will all work out! Thankfully everyone brings food so I only have a few things to make. Although I'd much rather do the cooking than the cleaning!

Winter Update!! We ended up this morning with 34" of snow!! I opened the front door and we had a 5 foot wall of snow blocking it..lol. It just started snowing again now

Good evening,

It is done, we have pretty much survived the Thanksgiving turkey rush. The sales really drop off after today. We had one heck of a sell through this year, blowing away last year's sales. I am proud of my team for all they did. I know how tired and sore I am, and I am quite sure they all feel the same. We get a week and a half to 2 weeks "rest" before the hams take over.
Day off tomorrow, nothing planned just hoping for rest and decorating.

Thanks for the advice, I'm just a baking novice!

I bake only around Christmastime, and only a few batches of cookies. I'm really just repeating tips I've seen on the Internet. But there are others here who are wonderful bakers!

Very cool and unique. It will draw a crowd I'm sure...

I brought nearly four dozen of those cookies, and I'm happy to say they ALL disappeared before the end of the day! I'm not any great shakes as a baker, but I can do chocolate chip cookies!

It was quite a feast here. The office kitchen fridge is crammed with leftovers.

Merry Tuesday Merry. Today, we woke up to some light rain. 34 degrees outside, so it could have just as easily been snow. It should get rid of some of the snow in the yard, which will help with setting the outside decorations. Sorry to hear about the dental issues, but I'm glad it was an easy fix. Just a couple days away now and I am hoping to get to the store today and finish up.

Good Tuesday morning! Seems hubby and I are both fighting off the first signs of a cold this morning (he a sore throat and me coughing). I'm working the afternoon/evening shift today, so I'll get some chores done in the morning. I also have some things to take care of for our work Christmas party coming up on Sunday. But it was not a good night's sleep so I want to find some time to relax as well. Wishing everyone a fantastic day!

I sure hope you can fight those colds off before they get a foothold. Take care of yourselves!

Yummy and very filling!
My chocolate chip cookies were a hit. I took nearly four dozen. About half an hour ago only one was left! (Full disclosure: I ate two of them myself.)

They must have been a hit!! And ... only 2?? Glad your meal was good!

Oh I bet it was a riot seeing Gracie play with the Great Dane puppy. Previous neighbours got a puppy Great Dane/Pit Bull mix and the thing was all legs and so goofy running around. Just a sweetheart. Of course Loki being so little would freak out when he'd run towards us. Hope you're not stressing out too much about your preparations for Thanksgiving.

Poor Loki. I'm sure that dog looks like a really BIG dog to him!!
They were just adorable!!

Good Monday evening! First day back from vacation wasn't too bad, except for driving in the snow this morning. And it's cold enough still that it hasn't all melted. If it weren't for the very cold winds, it would have been a pleasant day, even with the snow. Hope everyone is safe and warm tonight, enjoy the rest of your evening!

I hope you are back into the swing! Amazing how fast those vacation weeks go, huh?
