Happy Thanksgiving eve all!!! We are finally at the moment when the rest of the world becomes as enthused and obsessed as us for that magical holiday Christmas!! I can now jam out to my holiday hits without those awkward glances I get in July and safely watch Silent Night, Deadly Night without being told it's not Christmas!! Amazing!!

A Wonderful Wednesday to all the MMC community and to those involved... Happy Thanksgiving Eve. Still fighting a bit of a cold, but I try to look on the positive side and that is I am already off from work, so it does not make a negative impact there. The rain melted a lot of the snow yesterday and with the temps staying above the freezing mark (and hopefully feeling better), the ground should be good enough to put out the Christmas yard decorations on Friday. Till them old Tom Turkey has his front and center position.
Since I am sure most of us will be busy tomorrow and may not find the time to get to this site, I will wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving today when I address individual posts.
Since I am also a bit of a trivia buff, I may add a little NFL Thanksgiving trivia here and there as well. Please forgive me if you are not a football fan...

Here is the first: The Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars have never played on Thanksgiving Day. The Houston Texans made their first franchise appearance in 2012 vs. the Lions.

And something for the kids and child in each of us...

Merry Wednesday!

Although I didn't get much sleep, I am feeling much, much better ~ yay! So much to do today in prep for work tomorrow. There won't be that many people in the store during the morning, so I should be able to do displays and clean before the rush arrives. Should be fun!
Weather today is a mixed bag of rain/snow. There could be up to an inch and half of accumulation, but it looks like whatever sticks won't be around long because of the rain. Hope to get out and enjoy any snow that falls!

A Wonderful Wednesday to you Meceka. I can sympathize with the sleep portion. Coughs kept waking me up. But I can kick back today except for some Thanksgiving prep work and hopefully this thing will subside (the Lord willing of course). Weather actually sounds good for this time of year. We are at 33 and most of the snow that fell on Friday is gone. Have a great day and an even better tomorrow.

NFL Thanksgiving Trivia: The Detroit Lions have the most wins on Thanksgiving (34), as well as the most losses (38).

GOOD MORNING MMC !!

not into work until noon today and then only a 4 hour shift. So this morning I am going to work on my gingerbread house. LittleCS has hers already baked and ready to decorate, so I am a tad behind.
My sourdough bread did not rise last night, I think it was to chilly in the kitchen. This is only the second time since I started making it a year ago this has happened. nothing to d but throw it out and start over.

Well, need to make some breakfast and then get going on that gingerbread.

We've decided Rollins has springs in his legs. Last night he jumped from a sitting down position without any momentum straight up on top of my computer desk in one easy motion. I think he's part rabbit.

I had that happen with some sourdough rolls awhile ago.My starter is going on 8 yrs old now. Its hard to gauge the first rise due to temp..lol..I will make it at 8 pm then check the rise twice during the night. Once I was baking bread at 4 a.m...ughh

Top Of The Morning to you Gunny. I will be the first to admit that my baking skills are severely lacking. I can whip up a great meal as long as baking is not included. Thanks goodness for crescent rolls in a can... lol.

Good Morning!
Tomorrow is Thursday and by now, we all know what that means!

Days to Thanksgiving Day: 1 (TOMORROW!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 32 (One month from the day after tomorrow!)
(Wow! The heart of the holiday season is really closing in on us!)


Steadily, the temperature readings move upward as we reach the doorstep of Thanksgiving. Tomorrow, the high should be in the upper 60's.
(That will certainly make for a nice Turkey Day!)
Right now, we are starting off at a chilly 33 degrees here, but it should warm up fairly quickly.

Carl is sending out invitations to one and all to visit the 'Pines this evening for a sumptuous pre-Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.
The decorations are terrific as always and set the usual festive mood in keeping with the occasion.
Our friendly activities director even says there will be new pumpkin pie recipe this year. (Oh, great. First it was coffee, now it's an experimental pumpkin pie!)
But not to worry. I'm sure everyone will have their usual great time!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve MMC! Well here we go it's just about time to really kick off the holidays. Everyone got their turkeys ready? I'll be leaving around noon today. It really is one of if not my favorite work day of the year. We never really leave early and then to have 4 days off after it ahead is nice. Looking forward to lots of food, football, fun, family, Christmas shopping, hanging out, relaxing, games, oh man all the great stuff to kick off the holiday season. Have a great one everyone!

Howdy Edge. I read your post... are you like excited or anything? I have everything ready to rock and roll here with the exception of the French Silk Pie from Perkins. Going to pick that up here shortly. The it is time to get the sausage gravy ready for tomorrow and have all the stuff ready (including peeling spuds). Have a really great time buddy and enjoy one of your "Favorite" times of the year.
