Hey everyone. It's another day closer to CHRISTMAS! We are going to my Uncle's tonight for TWD mid-season finale and having dinner there like we do every 2 months or so (yet seems like yesterday I told you I was going and it's already been 7 weeks since we went). I think next Sunday we're going to hang out with my other Uncle...that's after Thursday my work Christmas party...Saturday 5AM at the airport to get my brother...and then my final exam on the Tuesday after...so from late this week through early next week it's going to be a bit busy which is why I am trying to slow things down. Have a great day!
Greetings Edge. Happy Monday and looks like Petty may be okay. Sounds like your week will be as busy as my past two have been...
Hopefully you had a great time at your Uncle's and that set you in motion for whatever comes up this week. Have fun my friend.

Merry Two Weeks Until Christmas!

(so hard to believe)

I will be spending my first Christmas ever not in the snowy UP of Michigan, but in the desert heat of Arizona, as I spend it with my daughter and son-in-law. We have a full week planned, so it will be fun, plus it's an unwritten rule that my daughter and I will spend each Christmas together as long as the Good Lord allows :)

We are already making plans for next year's Christmas to be spent back north, we're Northerners through and through...but we have this Christmas to add to our annual parade of memories.

Have a great Sunday, everyone. I have the hot cocoa and two versions of A Christmas Carol (Alistair Sim ; George C Scott) ready to watch.

Make it a Christmas Sunday!
Merry Monday to you. Sounds like a nice Christmas to me. I have had three "warm" Christmas memories since i departed California for the military in 1974. Guam in 76', New Mexico in 78' and Texas in 88'. All the rest have been in the northern regions of the US or globally.
Enjoy your time with your daughter and I pray the Lord grants you many more. Have a safe journey...

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 29 **

Good Morning, Guys!

Ah. The TWO WEEK mark.
It -- is -- here!

Days to Christmas Day: 14 (Yep. Two weeks from today, alright!)
(How did this point come so fast? The magic of Christmas, possibly??)

Quite chilly yesterday, abeit sunny and calm. No precipitation, fortunately, or it likely would have been of the frozen kind.
A repeat today, then a warming trend.
This morning has commenced here at 28 degrees under promising skies.

Have a Super Sunday, Everyone!
(I haven't given up on the Panthers yet despite the apparent hopelessness of their situation. Not until they have been mathematically eliminated!)
Morning Crown. Been on the cold side here in SD as well. Nothing above the mid twenties expected for the next ten days or so. We had a couple inches of snowfall, so that was nice. It was the light kind, very easy to shovel and it hides all the cords in the yard... :lightman
Have a marvelous Monday and thanks for the updates. Panthers looked fairly decent yesterday.

Good Sunday morning! Feeling somewhat better but still not 100%. I have some errands to run this morning and I hope to get the Christmas tree finished afterwards. Really late on that this year. Tonight our management team is meeting at a restaurant, we've done that the past couple of years, it's like a tradition now. Today is a sunny and COLD day and snow will start sometime tonight and continue tomorrow. Looks like it will be a white Christmas this year. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Morning Martine. Looks like you and I have something in common this year... later than usual decorating. I did finish yesterday, which for me is about two weeks later than normal. Illness and "things" kept popping up to delay the process, but finally...
I hope you are feeling much better and that this week goes smoothly for you. Enjoy...

My dear Christmas friends...the Christmas music is on, the coffee is hot, it is 30 degrees outside....and I hear a baboon behind me. Yes, a baboon. Bambina is acting like a baboon. Don't ask me, I don't know. For the most part, it is pretty festive and Christmassy...except for the zoo animal....who has started transitioning to a wolf.....I don't know...

We went and did a little shopping last night. I think it is fun to be out and see everyone in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Christmas....we still have a little bit more to go...but we will wrap that up this week.

I'm gonna do a little Christmas cooking today and watch a few movies. School has one more week. We give tests and get out at 1:30 all week, so it will be a pretty good week. I hope visit again before tomorrow. Yall have a great day!
Howdy Ballcoach. The music keeps playing here as well. For most of the year, it is the instrumental kind, but the words need to be heard at this time of year... :)
Sounds like fun at the zoo, takes me back more years than I would like to recall... lol Have caught a few Christmas movies and hoping to watch some more. Shopping is about done and I need to get the "to go" packages finished up today and in the mail. I hate waiting till the last minute, plus then I can really relax. Enjoy the week and have fun...

Greetings Gunny. The countdown is on. The past two weeks have been a blur, but hopefully settling down to a normal pace for the remaining two.
I trust everything is going well in your "barracks" area. How excited are the kids getting?
Have a great day...

Happy Two-Weeks-to-Christmas Sunday!

The pre-Christmas pressure is starting to ease up a bit here, and I've been able to relax a little and watch some Christmas movies and other Christmas videos. I have some great musical Christmas programs on video: stuff from the old Bell Telephone Hour, the Pavarotti concert in Montreal, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, etc. I've been having a wonderful time with them!

One more day off tomorrow---the last one until Dec. 23. Then tomorrow night is the "Scrooge" film show in Newton (weather permitting! keep your fingers crossed!), then it's back to work Tuesday. :( Just as I'm getting some free time and am able to relax! But I'm grateful to have that job. And Christmas is an extra-long weekend this year, because I'm taking the 23rd off, and we get the 26th off because Christmas falls on a Sunday.

And there's most of today left to enjoy! Next on the agenda is some tea and Christmas video!
Happy Monday Merry. Things are calming down in my neck of the woods too (finally). Watched several varieties of "A Christmas Carol" lately to include... Alister Sims version, Patrick Stewart's version and of course Mr Magoo and Mickey's takes on it as well. Have not viewed Scrooged yet, but that is on the horizon. I have today off as well, but not as long between days off as you have to look forward to. Since I always have Sundays and Mondays off, I will be home from the 24th - 26th (as well as the 31st - 2nd).
It is nice to be grateful for what we have when so many are without during this time of year.
Good to be back with all my MMC friends and have a fantastic week...

The weekend flew by! Hope everyone had a good one. So much to do this week, I'm so behind on my Christmas shopping. I haven't even begun shopping for the girls yet. Praying I have a productive week!
Hope everyone is well, have a good night <3
Good morning HMG. All my days recently have flown by, so I can really relate. Got all the gifts that I need to send out done, with just a few more locally to do. Hopefully that will be done today.
I will add my prayers for your productive week as well. Take care and I hope all is going well at your home this holiday season.

Good evening,

I wasn't able to be here the last two days, my wife and I were wrapping presents Friday, and of course yesterday we made our trip to New York City. It was quite an experience, but I have now scratched off the number one thing off my Christmas bucket list. Seeing the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in person. I was in awe when I saw it, smiling like a kid seeing Santa. I also bought an ornament of the Rockefeller Tree while there. We walked miles and miles up and down 5th Avenue, saw store windows, visited Macy's on 34th st. I can't believe there are 8 floors there, and every floor has its own restaurant. We went to see Santaland but the line was a 2.5 hour wait. We also went to Times Square, a bunch of shops, overpaid for food. We had a great time, but I would be happy if I never set foot again in NYC, I saw my tree, and it was everything I wanted it to be. We slept on the bus ride home, and then when we got home I slept another 9 hours uninterrupted. It was an exhausting day.
There is a snowstorm going on right now, they are predicting 3-5 inches with freezing rain in the morning, so it may be a treacherous trip into work.
Finishing up "Scrooge" (Albert Finney) right now, and then off to bed.
I hope you all had a great weekend.
Goodnight, everyone.

Morning Xmas. Really nice photos there. Never been to NYC. I grew up in LA, so I have some memories of an overcrowded city, but the smaller town life got into my blood (and heart) when I was in the service and now I have no desire to head back to the metropolis areas. The only minor exception to that is the twin city area to go to the Mall of America, but it is thankfully located on the outskirts and to the south, which is perfect for my travel.
Keep warm and enjoy the snow. Hopefully it will be more on the 3" rather than the 5".
Have a marvelous Monday...

Well, it is Sunday and this week is the last full week of school. The following week is semester exams Monday-Wednesday.
The weather did not turn out as great as I had hoped this weekend. We had snow showers Friday, which was nice. Then, last night we got about half an inch. Then today, it turned to rain. :(
We are suppose to have really cold temperatures again mid week. Then a "storm" of some sort next weekend. They keep changing the forecast. Hoping for snow next weekend.

Of course my Browns lost (again). But Army beat Navy for the first time in 14 years!
I hope everyone has had a great weekend!
Happy Monday. Good luck on getting your snowfall. We have had some and with the temps staying well below the freezing mark, it should be here through Christmas (if not well beyond).
Sorry about the Browns. They really need another Otto Graham to get them going. They have had so many great players, but can never seem to find both a QB and an Offensive line at the same season. Maybe they need to ask someone else to make the picks for them next draft.
Have a great day...

Oh boy, another weekend over already.

Watched "Miracle on 34th street" (1947 version) last night for the fifth time in five weeks. My favorite Christmas movie!

Listening to the Johnny Mathis "Merry Christmas" album currently.....on reel to reel tape.:agree:

First snowfall of the season coming tonight. Couple inches possible, hopefully no more.

Have a wonderful week everyone....only two more weeks to go.
Hi there Xmas111. I have also watched the Miracle in glorious B&W. Never did get into the older movies being colorized. No reel to reels left, but I did listed to the Beach Boys Christmas on Cassette... ;)
I hope you snowfall is a light one. We had a light one here and it makes all the decorated homes really look fantastic. Take care and enjoy the rest of the season...

Yes very busy but tis the season right? We can rest in January and February when things are slower. Have a great day!

Good morning! A rainy start here after a snowy evening. Looks like we will have a decent day though as the rain is already ending as I type this. By Thursday/Friday we're going to be seeing the coldest weather of the season. Next weekend maybe some snow and rain again. Christmas weekend though is looking like it's going to be average/above average temperatures. Nothing like last year though...but still not too cold and doesn't look like we have any chance of snow for it (as of now). Have a great Monday! Last 5 day work week of the year for me.

Same here Edge. Five this week followed by two four day weeks. Nice way to bring in both Christmas and the New Year...

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 30 **

Good Morning, Folks.
Do you realize that after today, we will have completed a FULL MONTH of Christmas Season 2016?
And that also means that our countdown to Christmas Season 2017 will have
been silently running for the same amount of time.
(See the beauty of the Season count and the depth the Season provides?)

The remaining count:
Days to Christmas Day: 13 (Well how about that now? UNDER 2 weeks remain!)
(Moving right in now on our ultimate goal!)

Continued cold yesterday. The kind that makes you just want to stay inside.
Today and tomorrow should be noticeably warmer but it will come at the cost of rain.
This morning has dawned overcast and damp at 45 degrees here in central North Carolina.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Friends.
LAST full week before Christmas, hard though that may be to believe!

So glad you got to see the tree Xmas, the pictures are beautiful!!!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

After church yesterday, mama wanted to gout to eat instead of cooking, so we went to a country-cooking buffet that she heard about. I haven't had that much fried food since my heart attack four years ago! Boy, it tasted good going down, but it sort of didn't sit well. I think I still with baked & grilled form now on. ;)

I spent the afternoon assembling a table that Nancy bought for our soon-to-arrive big TV that mama bought us for Christmas. That thing was in a THOUSAND pieces, but I powered through it. I was actually surprise that it was almost completely solid wood. Most packaged furniture you buy is pressboard. Anyway, we'll be rednecks for sure now, with a TV that's larger than most any wall in our living room LOL.

We had our church Christmas party last night, and Santa dropped by to see me! Uh, I mean, to see the children. :p

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
