Do you realize that after today, we will have completed a FULL MONTH of Christmas Season 2016?
And that also means that our countdown to Christmas Season 2017 will have
been silently running for the same amount of time.
(See the beauty of the Season count and the depth the Season provides?)

The remaining count:
Days to Christmas Day: 13 (Well how about that now? UNDER 2 weeks remain!)
(Moving right in now on our ultimate goal!)


Continued cold yesterday. The kind that makes you just want to stay inside.
Today and tomorrow should be noticeably warmer but it will come at the cost of rain.
This morning has dawned overcast and damp at 45 degrees here in central North Carolina.

Good Monday morning! Had a nice supper with my colleagues yesterday. One of them forgot and we ordered appetizers while we waited for him to arrive. Unfortunately one of my colleagues couldn't attend because she had to head to the hospital for her ailing husband to get more tests done. I'm keeping them in my thoughts and hope doctors can finally figure out how to help him get better once and for all. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift today. Right now I have Loki resting on my lap. Just taking it easy this a.m. Hope everyone will have a wonderful day.

Good morning MMC! Merry Monday!! WOW that COLD weekend went SO fast!

Our shopping trip on Friday was a blast! We skipped some stores we normally go too just b/c it was so cold getting in & out of the vehicle! Still, we shopped from 10:45 am until 7:30 pm...not a bad day. Went to Texas Road House for supper, then the 1 1/2 hr drive home - my friend came to our house so we could try Gracie's new Christmas pajama's on her. She just loves them...NOT! (but she looks so cute!!) We unloaded all my packages, watched some Christmas movies & had a couple drinks. Jim brought her home about 2 in the morning. What a day!

My nephews wedding was very nice & fun!!! We helped load up all the left over food & beer into the back of our truck after the reception....BRRRR! It was snowing like crazy & blowing!! Not sure how we got roped into that one! Ha ha! We were all singing "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" --- and telling ourselves it wasn't cold!

Mom came home yesterday! YAY! Now I hope she does well there. She looks so much better, just being at home & in real clothes. My bro & sil are still here so they stayed with her last night, but niece who is a PA also stayed last night. Hoping it all went well.

This afternoon is candy day at my sisters! It was supposed to be at Moms, but that would be too much for her! I'm hoping to leave work around 11! xx

Anyway, hope you all had a great weekend, and now a good Monday!

This is my last day off (except weekends) until the 23rd. Time to get some wrapping done, I think. A bit of overnight snow has changed to rain, but that's fine---snow would cancel the "Scrooge" screening tonight, and I want to see how an audience likes Sir Seymour. Depending on how energetic I feel, maybe I'll make a batch of sugar cookie dough to freeze and bake later. Have a Christmassy day, all!

Mom & I had a wonderful time baking together & watching Christmas movies.
And we had a blast being snowed in! The storm started Saturday evening, and it's only stopped snowing for a few hours since. A beautiful winter wonderland! Adrian got good use out of his new snow blower. He and a few of our neighbors helped people get out of their driveways in our cul de sac, after the plows went through. It was nice to see everyone chipping in.
I really feel the time crunch! Christmas season is going by too quickly, I just want to freeze time & be able to take it all in. I know I'm not the only one feeling that way, sending hugs and prayers up for all.

Wow! That's quite a road trip!

We have a neighbor that has a plow on his 4 wheeler, and he does the sidewalks and walking paths for us walkers/ dog walkers. He's a really great guy, but I also think he just has a blast doing it!

Good afternoon,

Whoops! We got a phone call at 5:15 this morning from the schools saying that school was canceled today. I rolled over and called out without even looking outside this morning. I probably should have looked, we only got about 2-3 inches. I should have gone in, but I took advantage of it got more sleep after such a busy weekend, and then finally got some use from the snowblower we bought last year. Nothing much else going on, I did watch The Great Christmas Light Fight, my wife is making cookies for the first time this holiday season, she has been itching to make for weeks.
I hope you all are enjoying your day.

Well, made it through Monday! So close to Christmas vacation, students are getting restless. The only thing keeping them going is semester exams next week.

Looks like we might get an inch or so of snow tomorrow. Looks like the whole thing will start too late for any disruption of the school day. But at least it will look nice and make everything look more Christmassy!

Harlowe loves the snow! Loves to run & kick it up, bury her nose in it, gets very playful. It was 10 degrees the other night, and she was on the deck, laying in it. Just hanging out
It's awesome that Loki loves winter, too. We both get a lot of it!
Mom & I did spritz and sugar cookies.
We were supposed to do cut outs with my sister and niece, but because of the snowstorm they were unable to travel up here.
Hope you get a good night's sleep, and feel much better in the morning.

I was able to get 2 presents wrapped so far. That means I am more ahead than I was last year. Carolina wanted to help so I am sure by tomorrow my dad and brother will both know what I got for them. She helped my mom yesterday am with wrapping and let me know that I am getting a shirt from my grandma (my mom does my grandmas shopping and wrapping since she can't see).

Also, my grandma will be having surgery December 30th and hopefully be coming home New Years Eve. She doesn't want the surgery but because she is fairly healthy 90 year old the dr and family feel surgery is the best option so she can continue to live a full life
