Um, 11 days until Christmas & I just can't get in the spirit of things.

Music playing in the car and office, tree lights on all night, every night, wrapped gifts, two parades, two Christmas programs at church. I don't have a gift for three of our four parents. DD's finding out the "truth" about Santa did more damage to me than to her, I think! There's no down time to watch many Christmas movies. We have managed to watch the two movies that DH has to watch every year: Christmas Vacation & White Christmas. DD & I have watched one Muppets Christmas movie.

I told DH that we have to spend this Friday night watching more Christmas movies to get me in the holiday spirit or Christmas will be over before I'm in the mood. He's in a worse place than I am---he proposed just skipping Christmas next year! I called him Scrooge and told him that wasn't going to happen. I'm trying to find my way without forcing it.
I hope the spirit comes upon you soon! And please don't skip Christmas!!

Sorry to hear that it's a bad experience for you this year. Is there any way you can find a little space to sit back and breathe a bit, with a little soft music and a hot beverage? Maybe you're trying a bit too hard; let some Christmas find you instead of going to find it. It's no sin if you're not deliriously happy every moment of the Christmas season. Sometimes the spirit is in a few quiet moments at a time.

Thought I'd share this little nugget of info with the people who'd appreciate it most: you

While searching YouTube yesterday for something totally unrelated, I happened upon a Julie Andrews Christmas special from 1972, in which Jimmy Stewart was her special guest. I thought I'd check out a few minutes, and wound up watching the entire thing!

Of course, being Julie Andrews, you know it's going to be a more quality production than some of the fare the 70s offered (much of it quite good, mind you). And I'll tell you, if you want that little something to pick up your Christmas Spirit a notch, watch this. The songs, the settings, it's absolutely beautiful.

I was very surprised I never knew of this (I'm Classic Christmas, after all ;) ).How this hasn't been an annual tradition on TV is beyond me.

So, if you're looking for that little something, maybe something that harkens back to a time when our world, and us, were more innocent, and the pace a bit slower, do yourself a favor and check this out...you won't regret it!

That was nice, Classic Christmas. Thanks.
Christmas specials have changed indeed since then. Not for the better in my opinion. Too much yelling and screaming backed by tortured electric guitars for my blood!

Good morning everyone. Well, I am home from work today. Henry is still sick and my wife is not able to stay home today. If he is still sick tomorrow, my wife will stay and I will go to work. But, today it will just be me and my Christmas buddy! My oldest son, Nathan, is about to head to school and then Henry and I will spend the day lounging around watching Christmas movies, coloring Christmas pictures, playing board games, and taking naps! So we will make the best of the sick day!
Hope Henry is feeling better and can go to school tomorrow.

Way too cold! I'm upset our high will be 24 tomorrow

Thank you nmc! Appreciate it!!
You are very welcome!

So cute!!!

Hello all,
For those thinking of Henry, he is much better. His fever is gone and he only has a stopped up nose. He was FULL OF ENERGY all evening. So he will be going to school tomorrow. However, we will all be going 2 hours later!!!! 2 hour delay due to the wind chill advisory for tomorrow.

Henry and I had a great day at home today. We watched the Grinch movie, countless other Christmas shows (from tv shows), listened to lots of Christmas music, colored Christmas pictures, played board games, ordered pizza, played Super Mario Maker on the WiiU. A very good father son day!

Good evening,

A late night visit tonight, just saying hello.

Nothing to report.

I hope you all had a great day
Goodnight, everyone

Morning! Wow we are getting too close to Christmas for comfort. Tonight I have my work Christmas party. This is my 5th one...same place...every year and it's always fun. Hard to believe it's been a year since we last went. Then I will come home around 8, play with Rollins, rest and go to bed. No wonder these days go so fast...always busy but fortunately this weekend I should have extra time to help bake and watch extra Christmas shows. Have a great Thursday!

Good Thursday morning! And a very cold morning too (-14°C/7°F) with the windchill. Last evening I fell asleep watching The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm realizing that working last week while being sick has really sapped my energy. And tomorrow's day off will be a busy one, with David getting the results of his MRI, having to go grocery shopping and finishing our Christmas shopping as well. Hoping everyone is well and will enjoy a great day ahead.

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 33 **

Good Morning to every Christmas Enthusiast out there in the great MMC Nation!

And WOW, just look at today's count figure!
Days to Christmas Day: 10 (SINGLE DIGITS TOMORROW!!)

Yes, after nearly a year's wait and patient counting, we stand on the threshold of a single digit count to our final objective.
(Don't know whether to be sad or deliriously happy!)

It was OK weather wise here yesterday.
Today is a different story.
We awoke to 39 degrees this morning and I'm afraid it will be all downhill from here, bottoming out at 18 tonight.
BRRRRRR!
(I just hope there isn't a wind chill factor as well!)

Regardless, be you warm or be you cold, you will have a Thoroughly Thrilling Thursday, right?

Thanks Crown! It's getting more thrilling by the day!

It has been the busiest season at work for me and I finally got a day off today! I've got one more week and then I can relax a bit more. I'm taking the week after Christmas off.

I hope every one of you is doing well and enjoying the season!! I'll try to be back in as much as I can!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

It's been a wet couple of days (thank You, Lord!), but it's supposed to clear up and cool a bit. I hope it's not another Christmas is tee shirts and shorts!

We have a VP visiting the plant today, so I'll be in and out.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

We received a foot of snow yesterday, so as a teacher I, along with the students, certainly appreciate a good snow day once in a while, will give me a chance to catch up, as Christmas comes rushing towards us at blinding speed.

The snow was very light and fluffy, and it literally turned our little town into a Christmas card overnight. It is absolutely beautiful out there. Mother Nature even dusted my windows, so each corner of each pane looks like it was decorated by a professional (I guess Mother Nature is a professional at decorating, if anyone is). The window by my tree, with the lights gleaming off it, is especially nice.

Off for some breakfast, then find something Christmasy to do.

Have a great day, one and all!
