8 days??? Someone hit the pause button!!!!

I'm with you on that. There just isn't enough time left to relax and just bask in the Christmas season!

Freezing rain overnight. Roads are a skating ring. People stuck on the interstate for 9 hours. Think I'll delay my grocery trip until later this afternoon. Then more freezing rain overnight tonight again.

Stay safe ... icy roads are the worst. Our snow is supposed to change to sleet and freezing rain before turning to rain later today.

Same here we have a winter wonderland out there...supposed to be milder and wet on Sunday. If this was next Saturday it would have been cool to get snow on Christmas Eve!

But (if you had our forecast) it would then be mild and slushy on Christmas Day ... yuck. Enjoy the pretty snow before it turns to slush!

We had several inches of snow this morning, but it's supposed to turn over to rain later this afternoon and get wet and slushy. The roads were pretty bad, so I rescheduled an appointment I had and made a couple batches of cookie dough instead. Chocolate chip will be in the oven later today, and sugar cookies tomorrow! I love to play Christmas music while I bake to make the cookies "officially" Christmas cookies. I have a theory that the music mingles with the baking.

Doggone weather ... Mr. slid off the road and hit a mailbox post. Nobody was hurt, and he was able to limp the car home, but the car is definitely not going anywhere until it gets repairs.

I just gave him a couple fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies to help him feel better.

It probably won't be easy to get quick repairs so close to Christmas, but we'll figure out a way to get ourselves to and from work. And the cookies brought out a big smile!

Morning! 1 week till Christmas Eve (the best day of the year IMO). Unreal. We have a winter wonderland out this morning. It's going to be milder later though and wet so everything will be slushy. I won't name what I have to do today because it's crazy...I really don't have enough time and my Uncle wants us to go over tomorrow. I have too much to do so I'm not sure if I will. My brother came in last night from San Diego. He is here so all is good! Hard to believe it's that time again!!!

I feel your pain. We have somewhere to go every night through Christmas, now. Glad you brother made it safe & sound.

Woke up to a few inches of snow. I'm sitting in my car right now waiting for my youngest to finish taking a final exam. I ended up driving her because the roads are awful. It's a pretty long drive and she's sick on top of it. She was relieved to not have the added stress of driving in this mess. I'm glad I drove, we saw several accidents on the way here. The highways weren't even plowed yet. The snow is starting to turn to rain now, hopefully the ride home will be better. Not too much planned for today. I was supposed to food shop but I think I'll hold off and order pizza for dinner. I didn't get much sleep last night, we got in very late from the Christmas party. We had lots of fun so it was worth it! I'll probably wrap gifts later today since I haven't even begun to do that yet. I'm going to take it easy tomorrow as well. Lots to do this upcoming week. Can't believe we're only one week away. So exciting <3

Good Saturday evening, Christmas friends!

Nancy and I shopped till 11pm last night, then I had to leave the house at 6am to pickup Elizabeth from an overnight church "lock-in". When we got home, she went to bed, and went outside to do some work. Then I took her to dance rehearsal.

From there, we went to Savannah to see the Philharmonic play a Christmas show. I was happily surprised to see my old friend and fellow band member playing the tympani! He teaches percussion at the university that Jacob attends. I walked down front before the performance began to snap a picture of him. He saw me and came down to chat for a minute. Matt's a great guy! He doesn't even make me call him Dr. Matt LOL.

Then we went out to eat. I'm finally home in my stretchy pants on my couch. It won't be long now....

Good Sunday morning! The Sunday before Christmas, that is crazy! We are so not ready! Somehow we'll make it work. We had a frozen pipe in the kitchen yesterday and were dreading having to pay hundreds of dollars for a plumber but David put on a space heater near the pipes and everything is ok this morning. Freezing rain this morning and then back to very cold weather tonight. And after work today I have to get some baking done, as my family is coming over on Tuesday. A long day ahead. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Well, the warmer weather is seeping back in. As a matter of fact, it continued to get warmer overnight and we are at 63 degrees here right now, headed for the low 70's by this afternoon (if you can believe that).
But it is not to last. Tomrrow's high will likely not reach 40, as our roller-coaster weather continues.

Morning everyone! I guess it's not just me this year who's saying they are behind on everything. Well I did get caught up with Christmas Eve dinner preparations yesterday as we went for our annual food shopping for it. Funny thing is my brother has a friend who loves to eat and likes to give us the tour of what to pick out. He did that last year and this year he was working again and took us around. I was just thinking how the heck is it a year since we did this? Seems like not that long ago. Oh well we got that done...today I'm going to see my Uncle/cousins for a few hours then coming back home to study (supposedly), and a friend may be coming over for pizza. Too much to do. I think the best decision I made this year was to take off this coming Friday the 23rd. I'm going to need a full day of just slowing down and being able to get myself ready for the 2 biggest days of the year. Have a great last Sunday before...uh Christmas?!?

We hope so too, but the week leading up to Christmas, and so many ice-related accidents this weekend---we'll see! We'll just have to roll with whatever happens.
