Christmas Countdown - 2017

Merry Tuesday my Christmas Friends!!!

Was a little hard to come to work this morning, but here I am!! At least it's not Monday!!! ;)

Everyone have a fabulous day!

I have to hoard my vacation days so we can go out and visit Gloria, if at all possible ... so no vacation days until at least June. *sigh* It's just a matter of getting back in the old routine. Can't buck at the harness for a while!

Everyone I know has gotten used to my year-round love of Christmas. I keep an ornament on the ficus tree in my office, my Polar Express bell is on the table next to my chair at home, and I keep a sprig from each year's Christmas tree on the dash of my truck all year.

Don't worry about what they think! ;)

You've given me an idea ... maybe I'll hang my bell or some other ornament on a hook next to my desk at the office for a little January cheer!

Well, it may be January - as far away from Christmas as we can get - but we are actually pretty darn close to our first Milestone Marker of 2017!

First, there is this:
Days to the Season: 314
Days to Christmas Day: 356

And I would say just TWO WEEKS from TODAY is pretty darn close indeed.
That is just how far we are away from the 300 DAY SEASON Window, after which we will be starting the first of the 200's count numbers!
(How can it be so exciting so soon??)


Chilly, damp weather continues but it's still not too bad for January.
Today should see some more rain but dry weather is then predicted for the balance of this first week of 2017.
Currently, we are getting up to 48 degrees here in central North Carolina and it is very overcast and somber after precipitation overnight.

Thanks Crown! Isn't there a song in a famous Christmas cartoon that says "Put 1 foot in front of the other..." that's how we're doing it in the countdown always!

That's a long time to wait but I hope it will be worth it for you in June. At least you have us to chat with sometimes when you're at work!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm glad to be back at work. Yesterday, Nancy & Jacob worked, and Elizabeth watched pre-recorded Hallmark movies, so I just sat around the house. Ugh. It also helps that I like my job. We did finally get out to take Elizabeth to dance last night. We went to Walmart (of course) while we waited on her, then over to Hobby Lobby. No Christmas stuff at all! o_O I guess it wouldn't be special if it stayed out all year, but they could have left some stuff on half an aisle!

I have plenty of work to do, so I better get back to it. I hope y'all have a great day! :D

The time is short, vacation has been wonderful, Christmas didn't disappoint.
Heading back to work tomorrow will be tough, but it is just one day then a day off. I do have one more family Christmas celebration left this Saturday, which is also my birthday.

Morning MMC! Back to work today and back to reality. Well reality ain't so bad. I like my job and my coworkers. And I look at today as the start on the road back to all those amazing holiday vacations (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Sure they may seem eons away but part of the fun is thinking about it all year long. MMC makes Christmas more fun and the whole build to it all year long. It's exciting. I feel good about it and I'm just trying to have a good 1st work day of the year. Looks like we will see some rain today as we did yesterday as well.

Merry Tuesday everyone! First day back for me and I am going to ease into it, taking my time catching up on emails, etc..It is a pretty dreary day here but not too cold so I can handle that. I am going to get a workout in later. Hope you all have a good day!

My Mom passed away in September. With her, passed traditions and feelings that have accompanied my Christmases for 53 years. New ones will develop and old ones may pop back in but the world is different now. I'm looking forward to Christmas 2017 with a little more excitement because 2016 was somewhat tempered. And so onward I say! 315, I can live with that. My goal is to have a little bit of Christmas in every one of those days! Happy New Year to all!
