Sorry to hear that xmas!! Sending hugs, thoughts & prayers your way!!Good evening,
It was a crazy day here, our youngest is going through some problems, I really shouldn't go through them here since we are having trouble understanding them ourselves. If you can, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I am taking tomorrow off in case he needs me to be home for him.
I really don't have much else to report tonight after the stress of the day.
Goodnight, everyone
Well on my way home tonight I noticed most people seem to have taken down their lights. Even the few go-to houses that I've depended on these last few weeks have finally taken them down. There's only a few trees and windows that I saw with lights still on them, mostly white lights, which I guess at this point is more of a wintery thing than a Christmas thing. I've seen several Christmas trees out front of homes in the last couple of days ready for trash pick up, so I'm guessing that could mean these folks had their trees up inside their homes until fairly recently and only now decided to toss them out.
And while watching TV these last couple of nights I did see a couple of Christmas commercials which definitely surprised me. One was a Verizon commercial where it started out showing a house all decked out in Christmas decorations and a family rushing in to take it all down so they can go to the store and still catch one of their after-Christmas deals. The other one was the Sprint commercial with the "Can you hear me now?" guy at a tree lot asking why one is cheaper for only the 1% difference in pine needles. This was live TV I was watching, not a DVR. Got to say that's about the latest I've ever seen a Christmas or after-Christmas commercial air, at least since I've been paying attention.
As for me, this evening marks the start of my weekend. Right now I'm watching a DVR recording of A Charlie Brown Christmas and just relaxing and enjoying my indoor lights, tree, and decorations while I still can. I have a good amount of pork still frozen that was originally used during some tamale making earlier in the season, so I'll probably defrost that and eat it over the next couple of days that I'm off.
Anyways, hope everyone had a good night. I'll definitely be posting a lot these next couple of days since they will certainly be my last to really celebrate the season.
Oh no! Are you taking anything? Hope you get over it quick!!! xxMorning MMC! I'm hoping today I can make it through with my cold/cough. Not feeling great at all but I'm pushing through to go to work. I don't think that I have a fever which is good. If I do it would be a small one. I'm just having my cereal here and relaxing before getting ready. Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. We still have some lights around here but most of them are off now. But the few that are left are fun to watch! Have a great day!
Cough drops and some Dayquil.Oh no! Are you taking anything? Hope you get over it quick!!! xx
So nice to see the count to the season starting with a 2!!!Good Morning, Fellow Christmasoholics.
(What a wonderful addiction it is!)
And we continue to advance boldly into that addiction as we pass below 300 to Christmas Season 2017!
Days to the Season: 299
Days to Christmas Day: 341
And you did indeed read that first number correctly, TWO HUNDRED NINETY NINE days remain until the Season arrives right on schedule, Novermber 13.
(Holy Holidays, Batman!)
Continued nice temperature wise, although it was cloudy with a touch of rain late yesterday afternoon.
I'm looking for a clear day today with continued moderate temperatures.
It is currently a balmy 62 degrees here in our little neck of the MMC woods.
Well, it is 'Pines Day open house once again and Carl is ready as usual at the front door with that first complimentary glass of sweet southern iced tea and a delectible twinkie, fired to perfection! See you there.
And in the meantime, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, OK?
Oh awesome! Glad to hear your smoked food turned out great - yes, you are going to love your smoker!! I agree - fill up that smoker! Leftovers are always good. So fun!!!Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!
The smoker was a success! I smoked some pork chops, sausage, and chicken breasts. I have to say, they were worth the wait! I know it sounds like a lot of meat, but I figured while the smoker is running, I might as well put some extra stuff in. We refrigerated the rest, and will have it in the next day or two. I love the smoker!
We have customer coming in this evening, and I'm taking them out to dinner tonight. Our General Manager usually goes with us on these events, but he is out of town today, so that leaves me. I think we'll go to Longhorns. I haven't had a steak in a long time.
I hope y'all have a great day!![]()
That cracked me up too!LOL! That was great!
"Can I cut?" LOL
Oh so sorry to hear this HMG! Sending big (((HUGS))) thoughts & prayers. I'm staying positive things will turn out fine!! I know - waiting is the worst!Just wanted to pop in quick to say hello. First time I'm posting since Saturday. Life has been hectic. Lots of doctor appointments lately. Been a stressful week so far. Would you please send up a prayer for my youngest. We are waiting for biopsy results, should have them by the end of the week. Trying to stay calm for her but I'm a nervous wreck. I'm very upset that she has to deal with something like this already, she's only 20 years old.
I have an appointment this morning with my general physician for a physical and to go over blood work results. I was thinking about canceling but I guess I'll go. Been struggling with fatigue and some other symptoms. My issues seem irrelevant right now. I'm just concerned about my daughter.
I hope things eventually slow down so that I'm able to spend more time here. I try to read the countdown posts as often as I can so I keep up with what's going on, everyone is always in my thoughts <3
Hope everyone has a Happy Pines Day.
Thank you HMG! xxHoliday, I will keep your mom in my prayers. Sending hugs <3
Well I hope they help!!! xxCough drops and some Dayquil.
They are a bit...I half lost my voice so I have that raspy sounding thing going on and I'm avoiding talking as much and talking lower as to not strain myself.Well I hope they help!!! xx

If you can stand tea ... tea with honey and lemon juice is very soothing for a cold, especially one with coughing or sore throat. If you DON'T like tea, do it anyway and consider it medicine!Cough drops and some Dayquil.

I do consider tea medicine. I'm a coffee addict like binger is...I know on MMC we're kind of split 50/50 on the coffee/tea debate. Have a great day Merry. If you can stand tea ... tea with honey and lemon juice is very soothing for a cold, especially one with coughing or sore throat. Well I hope yours doesn't linger on as long as mine (and 3/4 of the counties) has!! I started with it Dec. 16th. - I would say I'm at about 90% now. Seems like it jumps around. Voice, cough, sore throat, sinus.... repeat! They are a bit...I half lost my voice so I have that raspy sounding thing going on and I'm avoiding talking as much and talking lower as to not strain myself.
How's your mom today?
Didn't mean it to sound like a debate! Sorry if it came across as militant!I do consider tea medicine. I'm a coffee addict like binger is...I know on MMC we're kind of split 50/50 on the coffee/tea debate. Have a great day Merry.
