Well, Christmas might be over, but it feels like it outside. It is at 29 degrees right now and this is as warm as it gets for 2 days.....brrrrrr!!!!!

Hope everyone is well. Been a couple of days since I checked in, but I was home alone with the girls last night. Two loads of clothes, supper, picking up the house, feeding two kids, giving two baths....usually we split the load, but I was wore out last night. Doc got home about 10:00 and we were all out. It always bring into perspective what she does all the nights I have to go to ballgames. I sure do appreciate that girl.

Y'all have a good night...I'm about to go look for some Christmas deals!

Hey there everyone! I've not been on in a few years but it's me....Merry Mistletoe!-lights- have missed yall terribly. Couldn't remember my old account so I did a new 1. I'm from S.C., wife, Mama, & a Christmas fanatic! Will be so happy to be home with yall again.

Welcome back!!

Happy Pines Day!

My goodness, it is cold out! That wind has not quit all day, but at least the sun peeked out at times.

Be merry!!

Good evening,
Hope everyone is doing well. It is cold here in Ohio. A little snow on the way tomorrow during the day. They are saying maybe about an inch where I live and 1-3 to the south. I am hoping the snow moves just a little northward so I can get the 3 inches of snow.

I took the trash out and it was like a blizzard outside. Big wet flakes, wind blowing. 5 minutes later...no snow, no wind. Made.me so mad

That's a good way to describe it. It's funny you mention it that way because my brother did leave this morning back to the east coast after being here for three weeks. And while he and I aren't especially close, his departure does leave a void and is yet another sign that the holidays are whittling away.
I learned that was the best way to describe it when my sister left after her visit, I realized the ache was almost the same when Christmas was over.

Is it just me, or is that feeling of having to face a holiday-less world somewhat of a scary and lonely feeling? Even though everything is the same, nothing is the matter, and all is well, when that feeling that you've relied so heavily on over the past few months is suddenly gone, does anyone get a little bit scared to go back to life without it? Does the thought of coming home from work in the evening now seem a bit dreary, even though your routine is exactly the same and you're not doing anything differently than you were while it was the holidays? I know we've discussed the panic or dread feeling of the holidays being gone, so its definitely along those lines. But I don't know, I can't help but feel a bit scared this time of year at the prospect of not having the holidays here. It just feels so right when it's here that it makes it seem so empty when it's not. And granted, I do get over it, there's always that point where I'm able to just shrug it off no big deal. But I can't help but get like this every year during the first week of January. I guess I'm just finally hit with the post Christmas blues now.

And trust me, I can't count my blessings enough that this is even a concern for me. I know there's bigger issues in this world to fret about.

I feel the same way when I see a gift I gave one of my children, thinking it was a perfect gift for him while we were shopping, or flipping through the TV and not seeing any Christmas shows on the schedule. The PCB's affect everyone different, but in the end we do all get over it.
I still have my Christmas music in my playlist, and I am not ready to give it up yet, my trees are still up while the rest of the world has begun the process of de-Christmasing.
We are all here for each other and talking about it is the best way, especially with us other Christmas lovers.

They were all pics I gathered from online. I even used a HD wallpaper for my cover. You just have to find pics that are high enough res or Shutterfly will tell you it cant be used. If I had Crowns milestone days when I made it, I could have put individual pics on certain days. But it came out fine like it is..lol.
I will have to look into it. Thanks

You know Noodle..when I was a young Marine and trying to find my place and earn respect. A Gunny took me to the side and said.."Never deny or pretend you are something that you are not" over the years I instilled this thought into every man/woman that came under my charge. Alot of PCB's are brought on because the world has moved on from Christmas and you arent ready to yet. So media, peer pressure, family say its time? Now that old Gunny that had the talk with me meant a completely different meaning than I did with my people. You walk into my house and you can find some form of Christmas any time of the year. I dont care what people think. I say there is alot of worse things in this world you could be interested in than Christmas! Ultimately you find your own way to not deny who you are in this life, whether people accept it or not. And are they truly your friend if they cant accept it?

Amen!

I hope everyone has had a good year so far. Happy Wednesday, all!
My boss's son is getting his Bar Mitzvah this Saturday, and the office girls are all invited. We (all 3 of us) remember when this kid was born, and we went to the Bris (circumcision in the Synagogue). He's 13 now. My gosh, how time flies. And I'm excited about seeing my first Bar Mitzvah!

On a sadder note, those who remember me posting here and there about my Mom know that she was troubled with early, then moderate, Alzheimer's. My sister and I held out as long as we could, but we finally had to put Mom in an assisted living. She was falling often, and we found out that she wasn't doing a lot of things that she said she was doing. She fell so much at the end that we went the extreme route of putting her in the home as soon as they were ready for her....which was three days before Christmas. Our family and friends were very supportive, and no one was upset at the bad timing, but still I wish it could have been different. The first couple of days she was there were hell on earth, and it was like Christmas never happened this year. But I think we finally have the bumps ironed out, and hopefully we can go forward with the new year in a more hopeful frame of mind. For my own part, it's a relief not having to worry while I am at work (a necessity for us) if Mom is eating, has fallen, is letting strangers in the house, etc. etc. The home is very nice too, and it's people my Doctor-boss works with, so that makes life easier too.

I know there's a lot a work ahead of us. We have to clean out her house and (huge) shed and sell the property, eventually. But that's in the future, and right now I'm enjoying a little bit of peace and quiet.

Oh wait.....my husband's off work for two weeks vacation. Scratch the peace and quiet.

You made a tough decision, but for peace of mind the right decision.I will be sure to keep you all in my thoughts.

That's kind of what I do too - take it down when I get that feeling! I'm not there yet! ;) My sunroom tree will be up until March! :D
My wife would never let me keep a tree up until March. She won't even turn the trees on if I am not home after Jan. 1. o_O

Good Pinesday morning, Christmas friends!

Crown has mentioned snow coming to his area. We're told that we might actually get a few flakes Saturday morning, too! Snow is very rare way down here, and what does fall almost never "sticks", but it's exciting just to see it in the air LOL! It's crazy to think it might snow here in a couple days, because it was 80°F yesterday.

Anyway, I hope y'all have a great day! :D
I hope you get some snowflakes down there.

Hope your errands go well. It sounds like your house is going to be smelling wonderful!! What time should be arrive! ;)
Have a great day HMG! How's Miss Maggie?

Thanks Holday, Maggie's doing pretty well. Still coughing but we're trying to keep it under control with the cough suppressant. Her veterinarian took her off of the antibiotics for the time being. She needed a break, the last round really upset her tummy. I hope Miss Gracie is doing well! Maggie and I are sending hugs <3
xx

Nice thing about our trees is that if my wife wants the lights on in the living room, the Christmas lights go on too.
