Hey friends! I hope you all are having a great day and a great 2017! I am really enjoying the start to the new year, even with challenges and being tired. There's a new energy in my life and I love it. Christmas tree will come down this weekend but until then I'm enjoying the beautiful lights and ornaments! Lights will stay around the living room until the spring to keep the light around!!
I love having lights up in the house, especially from fall through spring!! Love my timer lights that turn on every night! :)
Have a great day DYHWIH!

How is your mother doing Holiday? I'm sure that she got great care at the hospital, hope she is doing much better.
Good morning Martine. She's doing much better, she looks good, but she's so ready to come home from the nursing home! She's been in pretty good spirits, but she doesn't put much effort into her therapy....and that's what she needs to do if she wants to go home!! She's on Coumadin for at least 3 months, so falling is a big risk. BUT she could fall at the nursing home too, so we'll see. Thanks for asking!

Awesome! I love villages but we don't put one up. I remember when I was little, my mom had these cardboard-type houses through which you ran lights and she would put cardboard boxes covered with fake snow to create a village under the tree.
I'm the same way - I love them but I don't put one up! I buy a piece for my friends village every year. Love to look at them. Your moms village sounds very nostalgic. I would love to see that!!!

Well thanks for the support and the replies to my posts from yesterday. It just sort of hit me for the first time last night and I started feeling a bit depressed at how its becoming increasingly difficult to justify thinking it's still the holidays. I guess we've now entered that nostalgic-for-the-holiday season-that-just-passed phase.

It's great being a part of this community of people who are so supportive and understanding of each other's love for the holiday season.

It's good to know others have plans to keep their decorations up a bit longer as well. I'm planning to have mine up until at least Sunday night. I took a drive around town today and quite a few homes are still decorated with Santas, snowmen, reindeer, wreaths, and lights. So it doesn't feel too barren out there just yet. And I don't feel quite as alone in keeping mine up a bit longer. And I'll throw on some DVR recordings from last month in the evenings just to remember that feeling of what it was like this past season.

Tomorrow the band-aid gets ripped off when my three trees get picked up for trash pickup. I still have one mid-size one up I'll keep up a few more days. Then come Monday I'll be able take everything down and start getting back to my old routine.

Enjoy the next few days with Christmas decorations up!!! Every morning I can't flip the switch fast enough to turn on my tree & lights!! :)

Glad to hear that she is doing much better!! Hope the therapy starts going better!!

God, I hate that med. Hope she does well on it!!

Well, I'm glad you shared some!! Did you get much snow? Just a dusting here - sidewalks are white but brown grass is still visible everywhere! Still snowing lightly.

We've got just under an inch and its still coming down. Lightly though. So I'm not sure we will see that 2 to 3 they were talking about this morning.

Thank you everyone for all the prayers for Mike's family. They kind of have an idea of what happened, but now the news has gotten ahold of it either by release of investigators or scouring local funeral home websites just looking for a story. I wish people would let them grieve and leave them alone and not show up at their house looking for comments from the family.
We are all still so very heart broken. Yesterday Carolina told me that she was lonely in heaven but I told her that her cousins heart was full of all the love everyone has for her and that she's never alone.

Well, Christmas might be over, but it feels like it outside. It is at 29 degrees right now and this is as warm as it gets for 2 days.....brrrrrr!!!!!

Hope everyone is well. Been a couple of days since I checked in, but I was home alone with the girls last night. Two loads of clothes, supper, picking up the house, feeding two kids, giving two baths....usually we split the load, but I was wore out last night. Doc got home about 10:00 and we were all out. It always bring into perspective what she does all the nights I have to go to ballgames. I sure do appreciate that girl.

Y'all have a good night...I'm about to go look for some Christmas deals!
And I'm sure doc appreciated you getting that done last night!! :)
It's cold here too - 16º this morning - feels like 5º Brrrrr!!
Have a good day!

Happy Pines Day!

My goodness, it is cold out! That wind has not quit all day, but at least the sun peeked out at times.

Be merry!!
We had the same weather yesterday - bitter cold wind!!!! From 50º to that!!!
Have a great day M!

Good evening,
Hope everyone is doing well. It is cold here in Ohio. A little snow on the way tomorrow during the day. They are saying maybe about an inch where I live and 1-3 to the south. I am hoping the snow moves just a little northward so I can get the 3 inches of snow.
We weren't supposed to get any, but we've had a pretty, light snow all morning! I've loved it!

My wife would never let me keep a tree up until March. She won't even turn the trees on if I am not home after Jan. 1. o_O
LOL! She's missing out. ;) Some years I turn the sunroom tree into a winter tree, with white lights, & blue & white ornaments but for now I'm enjoying it the way it is!!

Thanks Holday, Maggie's doing pretty well. Still coughing but we're trying to keep it under control with the cough suppressant. Her veterinarian took her off of the antibiotics for the time being. She needed a break, the last round really upset her tummy. I hope Miss Gracie is doing well! Maggie and I are sending hugs <3
xx
Glad to hear Maggie is doing pretty well. Prayers for the little sweetie! (and you too)
Gracie is doing pretty good too. She had a rough day on Dec. 30th. Threw up so many times....but then she was ok & crazy again. Doggie flu? I dunno? I have a suspicion the antibiotic is starting to bother her stomach too. Keeping an eye on her!!
Have a great day HMG!

Good night all yall gorgeous Christmas peeps! I have a very important meeting tomorrow afternoon so I'll be back in the evening.
Sweet dreams!@sleep

Hope your meeting goes well today!! xx

Good night everyone! After all that happened, I'm praying for a good night sleep
Praying you had a good nights sleep!! xx Keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers.

Just went to a Ducks game and on my way there earlier and back home just now there were still quite a few homes still decked out not just with lights but with Santas, yard animals, snowmen, and blow up displays.
Love it!!!

Hello everyone!
Not everyone knows me on here as I don't post very much, but I’ve been around for some time and check the forums pretty often during the holiday season.

I got a case of the post Christmas blues in the beginning of this week. Went back to work on Monday after a week off, but I didn’t feel ready yet. Luckily there wasn’t much to do as it was the first day of the year, so plenty of time to get used to it again. Since Tuesday it’s been pretty stressy already at work but it did help me to get back in the normal 'rhytmn', also coming to MMC has been of help. Took down the decorations and tree on Tuesday night and now I feel fresh and ready for the new year to unfold. I’m looking forward to upcoming holidays and of course Christmas 2017!
I think as Christmas nuts we should remember that there’s always a little bit of Christmas within us and at any given time we can let it out. After all, what’s wrong with watching a Christmas movie in February, listening to that special cd in April or try out a new Christmas cookies recipe in July?!
Let’s keep the spirit up throughout the year and remember we’re not alone in this!! :jump

Glad to hear the PCB's are letting up! Great attitude & words to live by! :)

I am so sorry your mum was in hospital for Christmas. How is she doing? I hope you all can make up for it this Christmas my friend. (((hugs))))
Thanks Festive! She's doing pretty well, just needs to try harder with her therapy. I know that's easy for me to say...I'm almost 43 years younger than her! ;)

Merry Morning to all!!
