Good Morning, MMC!! Happy February!!! It's amazing how fast January flew by. Not much going on here. I'm still babysitting my niece who is home with a sinus infection. Getting her to take her meds is definitely a battle of wills. You think she would have learned how stubborn I could be by now. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!

Just a quick Hello this morning!! Merry Pines Day! Got to work late after an early morning trip to Amishville to pick up Emma. It was a nice morning drive. I had a passenger too...


(She turned her face just as I was going to take the pic...) Anyway, she loved the trip. Loved barking at the horse & buggies. LOL! She goes to the groomer at lunch. Busy day for Gracie!

It's also Moms 88th Birthday today. Emma & I stopped & picked up an ice cream cake for her. Hopefully she has a great day!!

OK. Time for my end-of-the-month review of left over Christmas decorations in my neighborhood.

Here are the statistics:
We have exactly 100 houses in our immediate neighborhood. (How nice, for statistical purposes!)
Of those houses, 96 are occupied. (The other are either for sale or under construction/renovation.)
Of those 96 houses, 75 decorated for Christmas = 78.1%. (Pretty good proportion, I think!)
Of those 75 who decorated, 11 still have at least one decoration still up = 14.7%.
Gives me something to do on those otherwise boring Winter Walks.

(And Noodlenoggin thinks HE's obsessed. I've honed obsession to an art!)

Happy February MMC! Already turning the calendars huh? Pretty crazy that January is over already. People at work were saying yesterday how they can't believe January went that fast. We got a couple of inches of snow yesterday but not too much. The roads were ok driving home. Looks like we will see a nice day today (well for February). After that looks colder at the end of the week and maybe a little snow on Superbowl Sunday. Yes I am still talking about the Superbowl but fear not in 4-5 days it will be over and you can hear me mention something else! Have a great Wednesday MMC!

B/C of you I had to buy a (small) Italian Sub at the grocery store today. I've been hungry for a sub since you talked about it yesterday! (And I rarely - VERY rarely - eat a sub)

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I left to get Elizabeth from school yesterday afternoon. She called saying she didn't feel good, so I took her home, then Nancy took her to the doctor. She has the flu, bless her heart. I'd much rather have it myself than see her feeling so bad. They sent her home with Tamiflu, and we're alternating Motrin & Tylenol to help with the fever. I hope she's over it quickly!

And I hope y'all have a great day!

And this morning's daily reality is that as of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, we will be down to SINGLE DIGITS to our next Milestone marker, the ONE QUARTER point to Christmas Season 2017 and all that means.
And what does that mean?
Why, gleeful happiness all around, of course!


Our weather? Well, quite nice indeed for our transition from January to February.
Yesterday saw us up in the 60's with clear skies and gentle winds.
Today should see us remain on this heading.
But tomorrow will bring an ill wind blowing in from the cold north, and warm weather will be a temporary memory.
Right now, we are starting off cloudy but calm at 49 degrees here in central North Carolina.


Ready for a wonderful evening at the 'Pines? Carl and his staff are!
And with a new batch of fired twinkies hot out of the oven, frosted to perfection, I am too! Hope to see everyone there.

Oh no...sorry to hear about Elizabeth! Hope she feels better. We have this and the stomach bug is going around like crazy too! My youngest is in 5th grade and almost half of her class was out last week sick.
