Christmas Countdown - 2017

Happy Valentine's Day MMC!! It was cold outside this morning and I cannot wait for a warm up this week. I got my girls some chocolates for Valentine's Day so I know they will enjoy those after school. Work has been very busy so I have been having to work late but that is ok. Otherwise just a normal week here. I cannot believe we are halfway through Feb! Hope you all have a great day!

Trying to figure out why I'm always at least one if not two seasons ahead of everyone around me .here it is Valentine's Day I'm making a pumpkin pie looking at garden catalogs for the spring and watching Halloween movies . Strange duck I guess....

No, a strange duck is the one who comes back to our neck of the woods before the pond thaws out. He stands on the ice lifting one foot off the ice, placing it back down, and lifting the other one...for minutes on end.

A coworker learned over the weekend that her husband may have part of one leg amputated after being infected by cellulitis. They're trying an intra-veinous treatment for 6 weeks to try and stop the infection from spreading and to see if they'll be able to save parts of his leg. So far his toes and the front of his foot will most likely have to be amputated. A reminder again on how fragile health can be.

And then I learned that my boss' ex-wife has gone missing for two days now. They are afraid for her life, she had an argument with their eldest daughter and she apparently left home without any cards and they haven't heard from her since. If you can spare some positive thoughts for her safe return and for my coworker's husband, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon MMC ~
Happy Valentines Day!
Not too much going on here, typical day of errands and chores. My husband and I decided to stay in this evening, I'm making spaghetti & meatballs and we plan on watching the Islander game. Maybe we'll go out for dinner over the weekend to make up for it. The girls all have plans this evening so I gave them their flowers & chocolates already.
I hope everyone's having a wonderful day so far!!!

I heard ducks the other day flying over the house. Hope they can build igloos..lol

It was the same for David and me. I was sleeping when he left for work and he's sleeping now as I arrived home from work. He did put some very nice flowers in a vase for Valentine's Day and bought me a box of Lindt chocolates. Considering that I dropped and broke my glass container at work in which was my supper, chocolates are most welcome.

Quiet evening here, spent the evening at my in laws doing a few last minute things for the trip. It is a large family trip with the my wife , kids and all my in-laws going.
Day off tomorrow, mainly getting the house together before leaving.

I am ready for a long winters nap.

Good Wednesday morning! Is it me or is this week going by slowly? We barely got any snow overnight. I'm working early this morning. With our Valentine's Day bake sale, the social committee got more than 120$. Lots of yummy desserts of all kinds. It was great to see so many employees bringing something in. I better start getting ready but I have little Loki all curled up next to me, I don't want to move. Have a great day everyone!

Morning MMC! Into the 2nd half of February now and on my lunch break yesterday sitting in my car in the sun I could feel a difference in the warmth of it. I always say once we get past Valentine's Day we can start to at least see spring off in the not too far distance. Looks like this weekend will give people early spring fever with temps getting to near 50 on Saturday and near 60 on Sunday with sunshine. A little early for that but I'll take it! Other than that just going through the mid-week period here. Hope everyone has a good day today!

Good Morning, Compadres!

Advancing on as we ever do, day by day, we but turn another page.....and approach yet another Milestone.

The numbers:
Days to the Season: 271
Days to Christmas Day: 313

Getting perilously close now to SINGLE DIGITS to our next marker, the 300-day Christmas Day Window, after which BOTH of our counts will begin with a "2" and we will have passed the first hurdle toward the start of an early acceleration toward our coveted Christmas holiday!

Coolish yesterday but not bad at all for February, really. There was plenty of sun to go around and no precipitation of any kind to spoil the day.
Now, this morning has commenced cloudy following a brief shower. It is 51 degrees here in the capital city and may not get much warmer today.

Well, Carl is ready for any and all visitors at the 'Pines for this evening's open house. As usual, he is a bit overstocked on red and white frosted Valentines Day fired twinkies, so excellent deals will no doubt be available.
(And don't forget to get a sweet southern iced tea to go as you leave!)
