The sneaky companies can spoof their caller I.D. number and make it look like its a regular company. The "The Do Not Call" list barely ever worked and the gov't left so many loopholes they got around. That's what caller ID is for. If it is important they'll leave a message. We rarely have to pick up the phone at home.
That makes meWe're a pretty forgiving office here. We can leave any time for anything, as long as we let someone know we're gone. So, yes, as soon as I get the call, I'm gone!![]()
Yes! People in our town got a solicitor call from my boss' home phone number. My boss & family weren't even home at the time. My boss called the phone company & he was told the solicitors can make almost any # pop up on caller ID & there's really no way to catch them. The sneaky companies can spoof their caller I.D. number and make it look like its a regular company. Two of my favorite old Christmas novels are in the public domain (circa 1910 to 1914), and either of them could be modernized into a WONDERFUL Hallmark/Lifetime type movie. Wish I knew a screenwriter that I could put on the job! Each has a plot "hook" that I have never seen used before.Lol..thats about all some of them have going for them Holiday, is the scenery. Hope you have a wonderful day today too, HMG! I'm sure you're making something yummy for supper again!![]()
Good morning HMG. Have a day filled with lasting memories and good times...
The ones that get me are the plots where they keep reliving Christmas Day until they get it right. I swear I saw 4 different movies like this last year. They were all decent flicks but...idk...it was just kinda to much of the same theme. Two of my favorite old Christmas novels are in the public domain (circa 1910 to 1914), and either of them could be modernized into a WONDERFUL Hallmark/Lifetime type movie. Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts for Lulu.
I took her to the vet this morning, and she was crying so loudly as they took her from me to the back. They did an X-Ray and found her bladder had a lot of stones that were preventing her from emptying, so while she was sedated they asked for permission to do the surgery. About an hour later, it was done and she was in recovery. They insist on keeping her overnight, though, and they won't let me visit her. They say it will agitate her too much if I visit but don't take her with me. They're probably right, but I already miss her.
Holding my breath until tomorrow!
At the same point it wouldn't be such a bad thing if we could relive Christmas over and over would it Gunny? The ones that get me are the plots where they keep reliving Christmas Day until they get it right. Thanks Crown! Hope you have a great midweek also!Good Morning, Folks.
Our next pair of Milestones approaches.
Keep reading to stay informed and to avoid being taken by surprise!
First up -- today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 222
Days to Christmas Day: 264
They say forewarned is forearmed.
As such, be warned that a binary set of Milestones is rapidly approaching.
1) The ONE-THIRD mark to Christmas is scheduled to arrive 3 weeks from today.
2) The 200-day Season Window will arrive 3 weeks from tomorrow.
(A once-a-year appearance of BACK TO BACK Milestones!)
Much warmer yesterday, and we topped the 80 degree mark by afternoon.
The previous day's rain disappeared and we had plenty of sun, along with a few stiff breezes.
Today should be quite warm as well before cooler temperatures return for tomorrow.
Currently, our back door thermometer informs me that it is 59 degrees outside.
I hear that Carl has gone all out at the 'Pines this week with a truly spectacular display of flowers in honor of approaching Easter.
(Of course, next Wednesday will be Carl's annual 'Pines Easter Egg roll on the lodge's front lawn, with hidden surprises awaiting lucky participants.)
Hope to see everyone there.
In the meantime, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!
