Christmas Countdown - 2017

I feel like the last couple of years our summer started in May and went through September...we had a long stretch of warm to even hot weather. This year looks like it's certainly getting a late start and from what I heard there is a chance that the summer heat won't last as deep into September as it has the last couple of years due to a weak El Nino developing...or at least that is the explanation I read.

Oh I hope that happens. I expect the heat in the summer but I hate it when it far over stays it welcome and invades the fall months.

We are stuck in a cool, somewhat damp rut here with the occasional sprinkle, and have not seen the 70 degree mark for several days. All that will change today, and we are supposed to reach the low 80's by this afternoon.
Things have again started off a bit coolish this morning at 59 degrees here in our part of MMC.


Well, it's mid-week once again and the 'Pines is ready for the usual open house, including the usual fired twinkie and the usual glass of iced tea, both presented at the door by the usual Carl or one of his usual trusted staff.

Good Afternoon .. well temps are warming up a bit and should see the upper sixties today. The rain storm this weekend is now being referred to as a Nor'easter with temps in the mid 50s ... Yup definitely staying inside this weekend.

Hubby has a softball game tonight but other then that not much going on. Have a great day!

Yep, it's delicious!
Emma fried up 12 lbs of ground burger with onion & taco seasoning this morning. She's worried that won't be enough for 25 people....that's 1/2 lb a person + all the other goodies that go on it, homemade bread AND dessert! Ha! That Emma!

Happy Thursday MMC! We had a really nice day yesterday but still cool for May. Today looks the same. The weekend looks rainy and chilly. Next week finally they are saying temps will get well into the 70s with sunshine. Something to look forward to. Anyone with any Mother's Day plans yet? Have a great day, aka Friday Eve!
