Day 5 Special Post
2 years ago when I wrote a special post I wrote about memories that I had. Today I would like to talk to you all about the reasons I love the Christmas Season. The world just seems like a better place during the Christmas Season. There's something very special about walking into a mall with Christmas music playing. Everyone just seems a little happier and nicer. There's something special about walking around the neighborhood at night seeing all the houses lit with Christmas lights. And there is something very peaceful about sitting, on a dark December night, right next to my lit Christmas tree with a Christmas show on. There is something amazing about sitting down with my family on Christmas Eve for dinner, the biggest dinner of the year. There is something that still makes me feel like I'm 5 years old when I wake up on Christmas morning and realize it's Christmas. I have felt this way for a long time, and the older I've gotten the more strongly I've felt about all of these things. But the truth is without all of you I would not be able to keep it alive all year like I am able to thanks to you. I know some of us come and go during the year and we all get busy in our lives but it's nice to visit every day and see some of the familiar names posting about their daily lives, what time of year is coming up next, and little thoughts we have randomly throughout the year about the upcoming Christmas Season. Well today all I can say is that believe it or not we have arrived. We're here. The 300+ day wait that we've had is just about to end. We all know time is impossible to slow down but the only thing that I can tell you is the one way that I've learned to slow it down (just a little) is by enjoying the little things. Make an effort to stop at some point every day during the Christmas Season and look at your Christmas tree for 10 minutes, or put on a Christmas cartoon for a half hour, or take the long route to work and play an extra Christmas song in your car. Enjoy it. We can't get this back once it's gone. But I do hope that we all will have many more years of Christmas Seasons ahead together to build up to and enjoy together. Merry Christmas to all of you. It feels amazing to be able to say that we're here...but we are.
Good Wednesday morning! Currently waiting at the dentist (teeth cleaning only), then I have some grocery shopping to do, a trip to the hairdresser's and then I'll be working on my Christmas music playlist. There will be some laundry and chores somewhere in there too. Hope everyone will have a great day!
I'm glad to hear you're ok! I somehow missed that you weren't feeling good, sorry.Well a Dr. appointment turned into a cardiogram, blood pressure, blood test, a chest xray, admittance into the ER, etc...felt like wow what did I get myself into. Good news is that everything came up clean...or they would have made me stay in the hospital over night. They told me, as of now, the most likely cause was pulled chest muscles. I am going to follow up with my Dr. the next few days per the hospital's request...and "tone it down" for a few days.
Awesome, Edge! Thanks for a wonderful first special post of the season! I'm sure we all feel the same way. I know I do!Day 5 Special Post

Thanks Brad. Yeah when they start mentioning "You could have had a heart attack" it kind of scares the you know what out of you...I'm glad to hear you're ok! I somehow missed that you weren't feeling good, sorry.
The same thing happened to me right after Nancy and I got married. I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible chest pains, and after a trip to the ER, they cut off my shirt with scissors (?!?), all those tests...and they finally said it was pulled chest muscles.
At least the real heart attack waited 20 years LOL!
Thanks for the special post! Yes, we need to find a way to concentrate on Christmas only at least a few minutes a day before the season gets away from us.Day 5 Special Post

How awesome!!! Reminds me of a garden center I was too in the Dayton area several years ago. I always said I would go back at Christmas, but I never have. It was close to my brothers house! Some day...I went to the most awesome Christmas shop last Friday! It's actually a nursery, but in the winter it's transformed into a Christmas shop. I was in HEAVEN! They had the cinnamon in the air, the old Christmas music in the background, and the A/C was cranking!
I've been dreaming about going back ever since!

Yikes! Well at least you know you don't have anything heart related to worry about. Excellent news!!Well a Dr. appointment turned into a cardiogram, blood pressure, blood test, a chest xray, admittance into the ER, etc...felt like wow what did I get myself into. Those places are always the best. I went into this "full time" Christmas store once that was a absolute beauty. It had a deck inside where you could sit and have coffee and overlook the entire place. I remember sitting there and watching people drink coffee and just look in amazement at all the trees on display and music going.I went to the most awesome Christmas shop last Friday! Happy Pines Day MMC!
It’s going to be partly sunny & cool today with highs near 50 degrees. Not too much planned, I’m going to run to Target and Petco for a few things. Other than that I’ll be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be baked raviolis and mozzarella bread. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!
