Hi there Merry. Like you, our Thanksgiving will be small, just three of us. But even though I do like family gatherings, every now and then a quiet holiday appeals to me as well. Our meal will also be full blown and my wife has asked for fresh baked bread instead of dinner rolls. Thank goodness for a bread machine... lol.
One night and then off for six days. Yesssssssss!!
Have a great day and a memorable potluck at work...

Thanks!
I'm not far from the door to the "kitchen," and I overheard someone in there say: "How are we ever going to eat on Thursday after this??"

Sounds like you have a great Thanksgiving planned ... enjoy it thoroughly!

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday! And a Merry Tuesday it is - I only have to set the alarm for work ONE MORE DAY this week! Whoop!

Just work for me today. I might make the cornucopia tonight for Thursday, that way tomorrow night I'll only have the potatoes to make. I would like to wait until Thanksgiving morning to do the taters but with having lunch at the in-laws it will be a busy enough morning. I told my MIL I would bring the turkey shaped meat & cheese tray again but I don't know what else to bring? She told me to make whatever I felt like making. Hmmm!

Everyone, have a great day! I can't believe Thanksgiving is in TWO days!! How did that happen??

Here's a picture of Lucy from last night, admiring HER tree... (just had to share - lol)

She’s beautiful!
At least she’s not IN it or UNDER it like my two!

wow! some amazing trees :-D We're doing ours this coming weekend, the sunday, which is when we'll have our own little go at a Thanksgiving dinner (just for us two).

This past weekend we spent the long weekend in Budapest - went to the Christmas market there, was really nice. Big xmas tree there, and LOADS of "european food"... Massive iron skillets full to brim with gulasch, chicken, "pork knuckle", potato dumplings, ribs, you name it... Vegetarian it weren't.

The weather was a bit drizzly, but all the xmas lights were up on the streets, and a good time was had. So, that's obstacle 1/3 done. Next one this saturday... and then, the sunday..... Tannenbaum!

Hope you are all having a good week
Sounds like you enjoyed your weekend! :) Have fun decorating & enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner!!

good morning my friends.
the trees are beautifull!!!!
and the outside lighting, too.
So what are Your plans for Thanks Giving?
Good morning Track! Thanksgiving morning I'll watch the Macy's parade & then we go to my in-laws for lunch & then my sisters for supper. Feast all day! ;)
Hope you're having a great week!!

Good morning everyone. I have been away from this particular thread for awhile now as things here have been picking up speed and not leaving me a ton of time for... well anything.
Going to try and get all the remaining gifts that have to be mailed out done today before I have to go to bed (one working shift tonight) and when I get off in the morning any remaining grocery items for Thanksgiving will be taken care of.
The outside corral is staked out and will go up Friday morning when good old Tom Turkey will come down. I hope you are all doing well and those of us who will be celebrating Thanksgiving in a couple of days have a memorable one. For everyone else, have a great week and enjoy these last 30+ days till Christmas...

Hope you enjoy your short work week!!! :)

Good morning MMC ~ Happy Tuesday!
It’s going to be sunny and warmer today, highs near 57 degrees. I’ll be heading out to the supermarket early, hopefully I’ll beat the crowds. I was supposed to pick up my turkey at the butcher tomorrow but I’m going to call and see if they’ll give me one today. I forgot my youngest is having her wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow, the poor thing. How could I forget that?! I don’t know what I was thinking letting her schedule the day before Thanksgiving. She wanted to do it before the four day weekend so she didn’t miss any classes. Anyway, the next couple of days will be super busy for me but I will pop in when I can.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xo
I hope your daughters wisdom teeth extraction goes well tomorrow!! Youch! Nice that she won't have to miss class, but bummer about possibly missing out on that delicious Thanksgiving meal. Good luck to her! Have a great day. Hope all your prep for Thanksgiving goes well!!!

Morning MMC! Not to bore you with my daily health update but the goal of being 100% by Thanksgiving is looking better and better. As the day went on yesterday I felt better and better instead of worse. Slept better last night, woke up this morning with almost no symptons left. Still got today to try to finish it off and go into tomorrow feeling great on my favorite work day of the year. We'll be leaving at noon tomorrow as we do every year. Seriously, nice pics of trees everyone posted. I'll only ask once more but can anyone believe we are where we are in the year? Have a great day as the anticipation builds by the hour for Thanksgiving!
Glad to hear your feeling better!! Now lets celebrate Thanksgiving week!! :D

** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 9 **

Good Morning, Seasoned Travelers.
And traveling right along now we are, through Christmas Season 2017.

Do we need to be counting further now that we are within our long-awaited and much-coveted Season?
Of course we do!
Because there is more fun ahead.

As such:
Days to Thanksgiving: 2 (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 34 (Now UNDER FIVE WEEKS remain!)

(Will the excitement ever end? I hope not!)

It was on the cool side here yesterday, but both today and tomorrow are predicted to be into the low 60's before we hit another cool spell just in time for Thanksgiving Day.
Currently, we begin this second day of the short work week at 36 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks.
And be sure not to miss the 'Pines Thanksgiving bash tomorrow evening.
It is one of those truly don't-miss days!
Looking forward to it!!!
:jump

Good Morning, Merry Friends. Haven't been around here lately, but I've been enjoying the best time of year with you in spirit! Just signed up for the Christmas card exchange, I can't wait to get started on the cards!
This last weekend we had snow and the temperatures have been up and down. Friday it is supposed to be 49 degrees and I hope I can persuade my husband to help with some outdoor lights and get the tree.
I hope everyone is having a Wonderful Tuesday!
Nice to see you missiechick! Good luck convincing your hubby on Friday!! xx Have a a great day!

Happy Tuesday!! Only 2 more days until the big day!
My oldest daughter is home from school today. She has a cold, sore throat and feels achey. I hope this passes quickly. If her throat is still really bothering her, I will take her to the Dr tomorrow for a strep test as the last thing I want to do on Thursday morning is running to Urgent Care.
Tonight I am running to the grocery store to finish up my shopping for the appetizers. My goal is not to have to set foot in the store tomorrow but if I have to I will send my husband. ;):p
Hope you all have a great day!
I hope your daughter feels better quick & nobody else gets it! xx
You & I have the same plan of sending the hubby to the store if we need last minute things! LOL! Hopefully I've got it all covered!
Have a wonderful day!

Aww...so cute!! Has she bothered it at all?
Have a great day, Holiday!
This year I am trying a new Crab Rangoon hot crab dip as one of our appetizers. I am hoping it comes out ok!
Thanks. No, she hasn't bothered it at all, but I still don't have ornaments on the main tree. She hasn't bothered the ornaments on the sunroom tree, so hopefully she'll let the main tree alone too! xx
Good luck with your new dip. It's always fun to try new things. :) My hubby's family is SO picky. If I bring something with onion, peppers, or spice it won't get eaten. HA!

Good morning Holiday. Lucy looks very content indeed. I will do the majority of my meal preparation tomorrow so that Thursday will be either turn it on or heat it up. I also ordered my traditional Perkins French Silk Pie and will surprise my better half with a six inch Peach pie. I got her a small one, because she is the only one who will eat it... lol.
Have a fun day and a better tomorrow when you get off work for the week...

What a nice surprise for your wife! :) My sisters friend is an excellent pie baker, she will be making our pies this year. I hope you can get all your prep done tomorrow! xx
Have a great day - hope work goes well tonight!

I'm so giddy today thinking of Thanksgiving that it's hard to concentrate ... and that's not good, because it's a workday! We're having our office potluck Thanksgiving at noon today, so I'm probably not the only giddy one.

I can't believe that the tree comes out of storage tonight, waiting for me to string lights on it tomorrow ... it's still a bit unreal. Looking forward to the parade, the turkey dinner, so many good things!
I understand ~ I'm having a hard time concentrating too!!
Enjoy your potluck today & have fun with your tree!! So exciting!!!

Goodness, it's so festive in the office today! They're getting our Thanksgiving potluck ready for 12:30, and in the meantime, a co-worker whose son took orders for fresh wreaths a couple weeks back is delivering the wreaths around the office ... so the smells of good food are mingling with the scent of evergreens! This isn't making it easier to staying focused on the job!
