Merry Thursday!

Praying everyone in the path of the storms will be safe and warm!

Very cold and windy out this way. The furnace is barely off when it comes back on. I'm snuggled under Palmer's Christmas present as she prefers the old blanket she's had since she was a kitten to this new one. Nice and toasty at the moment.

Again, be safe everyone, and merry, too!

We had a great time yesterday! The plant closed, Nancy's work closed and the schools closed, so we had a great day together, playing in the snow!

And Lulu REALLY enjoyed the snow LOL!

^ That's a picture of her running at full speed, BTW. :D
I am glad you and your family had a chance to enjoy the snow

Its just not the same
I am not a fan of the nog, but there is a holiday drink that I have become quite fond of around here. Mint chocolate milk by Garelick Farms, I have been looking for it since Christmas but it must be gone now, I can't find it anymore. I won't see it until December.

Yesssss, a snow day! There was no way that I was driving 51 miles today to go to work. I'm loving this... National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard warning till 1am Friday, 12-18 inches of snow forecasted. And with the drifts exceeding several feet deep, this is just awesome!!! The wind is howling outside and at times , it's a white out, outside. I tried to talk the wife into going outside and taking the dually out for a blizzard ride, but does not want to part with the covers and her kitten curled up next to her....
I ran out early to the store for some cat food, it wasn't bad then, but the store was .5 mile down the road. I did see a minivan struggling to get up a hill though.

Just made it home. Guess the storm increased or came farther west. Now they say 8-12 inches for our area. Originally it started as 1-3. Everything is covered. Roads are really bad. I think the wind is the biggest issue. It's blowing the snow so much that when I went out to my car after having it parked 7 hours there was NO SNOW on it cause it blew all off all over the lot. Makes it hard to clean the roads.
Glad you made it home safely

Reading about all this weather makes me envious. I've observed that when the weather turns bitter cold and the big snows hit back east here in the west we reside over a dome of high pressure that makes every day the same. We have cold -- but nothing else going on. Give it a week or so and I bet the pattern changes, and we get the snow. We'll see.

Late last night I went to pick up my wife from one of her last swing shifts. One more week of this craziness and we're done working this opposite schedule (which is for the birds).

Anyway, it's about a 12 mile drive one way and all was well getting there. She got out late so I sat in the car, reading on my Kindle as I usually do. When she came out, however, the car would not start.

Weirdest thing. There we were, pushing midnight, 20 degrees outside, and we couldn't move -- 12 miles from home. Was there for more than an hour trying to get it going. Had to hitch a ride home from some other folks getting off shift.

And I've spent most of my day getting it towed and now looked at. Waiting for the verdict.

I was not wanting to waste a vacation day on this type of thing....

Good evening from a bitter cold winter wonderland!

It has been a snowy day here, we got at least a foot and it is still coming down lightly. The real fun starts with the temperature, it is 20f with a real feel of -5f. That is nothing, tomorrow the high will be 11f with wind chill of -20, and Saturday high of 5 with wind chill of -35f. Brrrr!
Didn't do much but watch TV and cleared the driveway, I loved being out with my outdoor lights on, it looked so Christmassy. Schools already cancelled for tomorrow, back to work for me though.
I hope you all had a safe, great day.

Goodnight, everyone

Rest before the big dig out tomorrow. Yup, schools are closed tomorrow around here as well. As far as going to work is concerned, let's just say.... I'll think about it.

I wonder if the total sales were up today on places like Amazon, QVC and Wayfair with all the people stuck inside the house (like me) and on the computer today?

Morning MMC! Well our 1-3 inch forecast the day before the storm turned into 12 inches of snow. I was one of the last people at work yesterday and as I crawled home no more than 20MPH I regretted having gone to work. At least I got credit for the day though. And there weren't many cars on the road so it was just me and the very snowy roads mostly. Today I woke up to a wind chill of 23 below 0. Who predicted a mild winter? I'd like to talk to them...so far it's been below average for the most part since the beginning of December. Well it's Friday and I'm going to get Wendy's tonight which I rarely get but I enjoy from time to time. Make it a great 1st Friday of the year and hibernate this weekend if you can!

Good morning ~
Merry Thursday!
We have a blizzard warning in effect here on the island. The forecast changed a bit and now they’re saying we may see up to 14 inches of snow. Thankfully my husband and the girls are all off so I don’t have to worry about anyone driving today. No plans, just waiting for the storm to pass. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day. Stay safe and warm!

Happy Thursday morning!

The snow has started and the wind is picking up. We're both working from home, so thank goodness no one here has to fight the weather conditions on the road. Stay warm and safe, everyone!

Happy Friday Eve!! We just got upgraded to a blizzard warning...I am a bit more inland so I am hoping we really won't see the effects too much. They are saying we could get 8-12. We will see...I have a roast to make for dinner. Hope you all have a great day and stay warm!

good afternoon ... got a snow day today so everyone is home. Only expected to get around 5 inches of snow but the winds are wicked. Kids want to play a board game this afternoon so I think grill cheese and soup will be perfect with that. Coffee for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids!

Have a great day and stay safe in this weather.

Just a few flurries here in TN & really cold, for us. 20's for highs & single digits for lows, but the wind chill makes it bad! I'm dreading the four hour trip to a relative's wedding on Saturday!

I'm watching the news ... DON'T GO OUT THERE. Your wife has the right idea!

Some of the waterfront streets in Boston are getting flooded from historically high tides. They had to use a raft to evacuate a guy from his car, stuck in 3 to 4 feet of water/slush/ice on Atlantic Ave. We don't have those issues where I am, but we do have high winds and heavy snow. As of about an hour ago, NWS was reporting about 7.5 inches here, and it isn't supposed to slow down until about 6 p.m. We're expecting 12 to 18 inches total.

Have a safe, warm evening everyone!!!! -shiver-

Afternoon all!! Snowing so hard the neighbors house has disappeared. But.....my buddy just pulled in on his sled. Brought me a few cans of dip... sounds like a excuse to just run around...lol

Well it was nice watching the snow come down last night with all of our Christmas decorations still up. We probably got about 2 inches total. We made snow cream this morning and relaxed. I'm back at work now and will have to be here late to get some things done but the roads are clear (mostly). I just saw that the next three mornings will have lows around 13-15 which is crazy cold for southern North Carolina. Stay warm everybody.

Thank you Merry. It's the guy thing. I got a 1 ton dually now, and I'm itching to go out, put it in six wheel drive and have some fun. Just talking about it, makes me want to start grunting like Tim Taylor on Hometime... LOL!!!

Man, the wind is really howling out there.

I can feel this old house moving a little bit with the wind gusts. I've got the heat turned up and we are all bundled up and it still feels drafty in this old house that we are renting an apartment out of. I heard it was built around 1910-20's. So, you know there is no insulation in the walls to speak of, as-per-say. The windows, probably from Bob's discount windows from the 1970's...The wind, blowing like it is outside, the curtains and blinds in here are moving at just about every window. The kitties are all curled up on the bed and the wife is like a mama bear hibernating under the covers... I'm looking out the windows, like a little kid that wants to go out and play but I'm old enough to know better!!!

Hmmmm, I wonder if the Chinese take-out is making deliveries today???

My goodness you A lot of snow! Glad to see you were all home and staying warm. Looking at the weather radar most of the bad stuff it’s past so that’s good to see.
Now the fun starts you get to dig out.
Be careful with that too you don’t want to hurt yourself.
And don’t forget to have fun in the snow while you’ve got it!

Having car trouble’s really sucks I hope you get it figured out and it’s not too expensive. My 1998 van runs totally on prayer now I keep telling it it has to last till spring. It’s going in for an oil change this afternoon. It really didn’t wanna start this morning but then be in -31c (-24f) but then I didn’t want to start this morning neither

Good Friday morning! We got a bit of snow overnight but the worst is how the temperatures dropped again. With the windchill factor, it's -33°C/-27°F and it will be like this for a couple of days. I don't know how long Loki will want to walk this morning, poor little guy. Second day off for me, just chores and relaxing at home. Glad I got all my errands done yesterday. Have a nice day everyone and stay warm!

Very little snow here still. We have a chance tomorrow...for half an inch. Sometimes living in the desert sucks.
I know plenty of folks here who'll donate snow. All you need to do is come to haul it away! :D

Schools in my town are closed today, and our neighborhood streets are only partially plowed (they clear the major roads first), so I decided to stay in and work from home today. I know my athlete-culture co-workers will be in the office today, but I'd rather spend my effort on the work than on the travel.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday!! And a COLD one at that!!

I hope all of you in the North East are staying safe. It's been snowing & blowing here, 3º, feels like -11º. Cold enough. Heard from my brother on the Cape, as of around 7 last night they only had a couple inches of snow. It was blowing really hard but they still had power. Hopefully they faired ok.

Anybody have any big plans for the weekend? It will be a pretty mellow one here & I'm perfect with that! My sis will cut/color my hair at some point this weekend (much needed) & tomorrow afternoon I'll go to stay with Mom & I'll be there until my relief person comes at 6pm Sunday. I'll bring some good 'ol Christmas movies (mom likes them) & snuggle in over there! :)

Everyone, have a Merry Friday! Stay safe & warm!
