Awkward ... I'm working from home today because we expected heavy, wet snow to begin late morning to afternoon. Supervisor was considering calling in a temp even though I made it clear I am standing by at home for jobs. No jobs submitted all day. And no snow yet. I hate that I was away from the office for nothing. We're still supposed to get some snow overnight.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

Elizabeth's Girl's Trio won First in State! As a matter of fact, several of our school's events won First in State, and our school won overall First in State! It was such an awesome day, and the kids all did a superb job. We were at a college in middle GA, and it took all day. We got home about 10:45 last night. Boy, I was tired after getting up at 5am to get Elizabeth going.

I have to leave early today to go to a funeral for a neighbor. He was on the city council while I was mayor (and beyond), and lived a couple doors down from us.

I hope y'all have a great day! :)

So sorry to hear about your neighbor Brad ~
Congratulations to Elizabeth!

I hope you are enjoying your day off!

On Sunday, PBS showed a Postmodern Jukebox concert as part of their fundraising programming. It was fun to see and I only watched it based on your recommendation. Thank you! :)

I am glad you enjoyed watching PMJ. I wish I would have seen the concert on PBS. They are coming to my area this summer at an outdoor venue. I may have to go see them again.

Don't forget the new curling event in this year's Olympics. Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris won gold in the mixed doubles event. May I say "Go Canada Go!!".
Omg NovaMan, I spaced out and forgot about that! It was the first time at the Oympics that I watched mixed curling and though Canada won, I wasn't enthralled with the new format, so maybe that's why I forgot about it. So you're right, go Canada go!

And Kaitlyn Lawes is curling really top notch with Team Canada now. My wife and I are watching Sweden and Canada play tonight. We follow the big curling tournaments.
As for the new format, once I got used to it I really enjoyed it. It is a faster game and can get quite exciting.

I’m beyond miffed myself! I went in a little late for work, because I felt for certain that We would wake up to a monumental snowfall, so I didn’t set my alarm. But instead, we woke up to nothing; I felt foolish. Nothing in the morning, nothing in the afternoon and now, here it is going on 10pm, and it’s just starting to coat the grass.

WHERE’S THE 12-18 INCHES WEATHER PEOPLE!

I’m so bummed out. They had it hyped up on the tv, got me all wound up with excitement and anticipation for a possible blizzard and we got some snowflakes......

I’m disappointed!

They should go back to the quarter style weather forecasting, at least that way it’s a 50/50 shot of getting it right!

Boston.com has a live Twitter feed of various local meteorologists following the storm. They’re saying how the models and the complexities pretty much let them down, and they’re bracing for the brickbats. I’m sure they did the best they could with the data and tools they had. We’re expecting 2 to 4 inches now overnight. I’m still feeling like my co-workers are wondering why I opted to work from home today. Well, I did the best I could, too, with the info I had this morning! I’ll make the effort to get to the office tomorrow, hoping it’s not too bad in the morning.

From what I can understand, dry air somehow overpowered the amount of moisture they were anticipating to fuel the snowfall. The snow has been struggling all day to move northward, and keeps getting held back.

I hope (for us) that this will be the last snow drama of the season. (I know you’re still hoping for a big one.) Easter is approaching and I’m more than ready for spring.

Morning everyone. A chilled day for me today, I'm going home tomorrow for the Easter holidays and will be home for two weeks which will be nice. So today I'm just going to spend the day packing and getting organised. Time seems to fly on these forums which is funny since you'd think it would go slowly as we count them down everyday. Hope you all have a good day and the weather isn't too bad for you. Seems to be slowly warming up here.

Morning MMC. We got 8 inches of snow yesterday. It was a solid amount. I know some areas got less and some got more. I got most of the work day in and left an hour early. The snow wasn't sticking much during the day to the roads till later on when it snowed hard. I hope that's the last snow drama as Merry said till December. Had enough. Have a great day!

Good Morning, Season Supporters, Christmas Chasers and Point Pursuers!

<< "Point pursuers", Crown? >>
I refer to our Milestone points, little voice.
And the next one has crept up on little cat feet.

But first, the daily data:
Days to the Season: 236
Days to Christmas Day: 278

Milestone point number five, as we all know by now, is the 1/4 marker to Christmas Day and it arrives in port barely over HALF a week from now. FOUR days!
(So far, so fast, Guys!)

The promised snow arrived yesterday morning, but with the temperature well above freezing, it did not stick, even on plant leaves. It was raw and chilly all day however, and we are predicted to be in the low to mid 30's for our overnight readings for the next six days. Not exactly what I was expecting and hoping for to start the first week of spring!
Currently, we record 36 degrees here in the state capital.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone.
And I know you will, because tomorrow is Weekend Eve once again!

Good morning MMC ~
I’m hearing reports that we have up to 19 inches of snow out there. No plans today, we’ll just be digging out. I’ll pop back in when I can. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
Wow that is a lot of snow! A true March snowstorm like we had last year. Hope everyone is safe and that this will be the last snowfall this season. Have a nice day HMG.

Good Thursday morning! A day off for me and I'll need it because I was awake from 1:30am to 5am and will need a nap sometime today for sure. Right now I have Loki in my lap and I'm watching the World Figure Skating Championships on my iPad. Still there will be laundry and chores to be done, but that can wait for a bit. Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Crown! As Coach mentioned the other day can't believe that in a little over a month we're going to be in the "1"s for the Season Count!

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!! I need you to all say a prayer this morning that our mail at work comes through early today!!! (HA! Just kidding - that's a minor detail!) BUT I get to leave work once the mail is through. And I hope it's early!! Looking forward to an afternoon off on this sunny day! I'm waiting to hear back from Amishville. I left a message with Emma's brother's driver (geez!) that I will come out & pick her up after I get off work if she wants to come out. xx She was supposed to come yesterday but it was too snowy! It's so hard to get ahold of them - I can't imagine!

Our HS boys basketball team is playing at state semi's today. Looking forward to listening too the game!

Everyone, have a Fantastic Friday Eve!!!

I found a special edition 2-disc set of "White Christmas" and something starring Tom Arnold, "Chasing Christmas" I think it is called.
Thank you, I am having a good day! Hope you are having an even better and merrier day!! xx

Great finds!! I'm pretty sure I've seen Chasing Christmas. It's been awhile ago though - I can't remember what it was about! You can never go wrong with White Christmas!! FUN
