Merry Friday!

Went to the Pumpkin Festival today. The court house lawn was covered in decorated pumpkins from scary to kitschy. Fun to see!

Was actually looking for garage sales. There were a few, but not as many as in previous years' festival week. In another town there was an estate sale ~ that was fun to go to. Found a few items for the store, but it was the view of the river from the backyard that really made the trip worth while. Gorgeous! All in all, it was a fun day!

The weekend has arrived. We had a PD Day today, which means that students weren't there but teachers did a bunch of professional development activities based on numeracy. Thankfully, my school was able to make it relatively enjoyable.

It's a long/holiday weekend in Canada. Kim and I will be driving to Cornwall tomorrow morning to celebrate Thanksgiving with her side of the family on Sunday. It's going to be a fun and delicious day.

While we're there, I will keep my eye out for Christmas Blossoming in the small town of Cornwall. They usually have some really neat Christmas decorations at the apple orchard. Let's hope they continue to not disappoint!

Good Saturday morning! On my way to work where we have received our first Christmas merchandise, I’m so excited!!! And it turns out that my manager is also a Christmas fanatic, she even started listening to Christmas music in her car already. Hope everyone enjoys a great weekend ahead!

Happy Saturday! Not too planned for today..my daughter rolled her ankle last night in her soccer game so she is in a little brace...hopefully she should be better in a few days. I think we are going to grill steaks tonight. Hope you all have a great day!

Around 80 days left! This is the start of my favorite time of year! Woohoo! Yesterday evening, my wife and my oldest son (15yo) and daughter (9yo) went to the local high school football game. My middle son (13yo) and I decided to stay home because it was cold and rainy. So I asked him what we should do since we were home alone... and he said, "How about we listen to some Christmas music and play Christmasopoly!" So we donned our Santa hats, popped in some Christmas music and had a fun evening!

By the way, has anyone played Christmasopoly? It's similar to Monopoly of course, but we find it's a lot more fun. For instance there are cards you can draw like Community Chest and Chance cards, but they are Christmas themed... one card says everyone who sings a chorus of Jingle Bells gets $50 from the bank. They really do a good job of making it a fun game. Somehow even when you lose Christmasopoly, it's still a lot of fun!

Sounds like a great night!!!! I have seen Christmasopoly, but I've never checked too much into it. Sounds like a great game!!! Amazon - here I come (again!)

Hello all

Well, back for another season at this merry site. I can't help it, as soon as the weather gets chilly, and here in upper Michigan it's already chilly, and you can feel just a hint of The Season in the air, well it just makes sense to come back to this site!

I don't post a whole lot, but I really do like reading all of your posts. You truly are Christmas brothers and sisters-in-arms. We get each other, and we don't even know each other, how awesome is that??

Speaking of awesome, my daughter is due Nov 7, so this Christmas will be my first as a grandfather!

Can't wait!

(wasn't it just a few Christmases ago that I was but a mere child who became infatuated with this wonderful season we call Christmas??? Where DOES the time go??)

Happy Milestone Day! Today at dinner my mom and aunt were already talking about the dinner menu for Thanksgiving. I can't believe how close it is getting. After dessert, some of my cousins and I played croquet. Carolina played also. She did a lot better this time than she has before. Just work tomorrow for me and then at night it will be laundry. My mom is off of school tomorrow for Columbus day so Carolina gets to stay with her. I think they may do some Fall baking. Hope everyone has a great night

Well, Thanksgiving dinner is over. What a delicious meal it was! It was really nice to spend time with the in-laws and indulge in many foods, especially the deserts! I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend thus far. I really wish tomorrow wasn't my last day off. I have far too much to do!

Merry Monday!
It’s goimg to be cloudy with a chance of a shower, and a high of 68 degrees. Not too much going on here. I have to run a couple of quick errands and then I’ll be working on the laundry. My two youngest both have off today so we’re going to grab lunch and watch the Islander game, they’re playing at 1:00pm. Hopefully the weather will clear up because I plan on grilling chicken and baby back ribs for dinner. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I had a busy, HOT weekend. Our church's fundraiser Boston-butt sale was Saturday, and I had to pickup and delivery several of those. Then I went to pickup a desk that my mom bought for Jacob. Then Nancy and I spent the afternoon painting the columns and trim on the front porch. It got so hot, we jumped in the pool in our clothes, them went back to painting in wet clothes. That really helped!

Yesterday was Homecoming at our church. It was a packed service and a packed dinner in the social hall later. I did a little more work yesterday afternoon, then we went to dinner with Nancy's family. I just want a few hours of nothing much to do!

I'm supposed to play in a golf tournament in Alabama later this week, but the coming tropical-storm-soon-to-be-hurricane Michael is changing those plans for me. Doggone it! Our local news said to expect rain, high winds and power outages on Thursday. We'll see.

The last time I was on a pontoon, we rented one on a lake in the NC mountains. We were in the middle of this huge lake, when a storm surprised us from behind the mountains. It started flooding, then hailing! There ain't no getting away from that! LOL

It's scary to be caught on a boat in a storm!! EEK!! And you are right - there ain't no getting away from it. We were stuck on jet ski's one time in a heavy rain in Kentucky - felt like hail hitting your face!! OUCH!
