I had a couple Christmas moments at the office on Thursday. My supervisor, who usually gives me tea for Christmas, gave me this year a vintage one-sheet poster from one of Gloria's movies---since we lost Gloria this year, that was very thoughtful of her. Another co-worker, whom I barely know to talk to, heard me talking with someone about losing the family's Shiny Brite ornaments that my dad had taken to Florida with him when he remarried. (His stepdaughter threw out all his stuff and embezzled his estate when he passed and she became executor.) This co-worker gave me a box of Christopher Radko Shiny Brite reproductions---I was very touched. They will find a place on my tree next year to remind me of her kindness.

Amazing and thoughtful treasures for sure; those are surely people who know you well enough to share such meaningful gifts.

Good Morning, Final Weekenders!
And 'tis true, 'tis true.
We have commenced the VERY LAST weekend before Christmas day!

Our count (or what there is left of it):
Days to Christmas Day: 3
Now UNDER HALF A WEEK LEFT!
(Wow, Guys!)

Nice and warm yesterday (65 for the high) but quite windy. Leaves and pine needles down everywhere! No rain, though.
Then, in the evening, it rapidly got colder and we are waking up to 45 degrees here this morning. Should be sunny but cool today and tomorrow.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Folks.
Enjoy this last weekend to the fullest!

I had planned on being around more the last week, but got so busy with finishing projects for work before my vacation. Well, there will be one more PINES DAY before the New Year.
I am on vacation now; go back on the 31st, but I'll be here in the final hour as usual.:shakeit

A Ballcoach Opera....

The scene opens. Everyone is sitting around on their computers...waiting for Darlene. She shows up. They all go nuts.

The curtains close. Bravo! The best Ballcoach Opera, ever.

Bravo!

Darlene Love Night. 2009. I was so excited when I got done watching it that I called my parents and told them about it.

They were miffed. It was like 11:00.

If I would have only known then what I know now...

Isn't it funny how different life looks if you look back at 10 year intervals? I miss Dad...

Good morning all! I can't believe it's the weekend before Christmas. I was catching a cold before I went in to the hospital and now it's here full force. It's more in my chest than anything, but it's very nagging and I wasn't able to sleep well last night due to the cough. I'm going to send DH out today to find me some good stuff, since I can't drive out and get it myself.

Not much planned for today. I'm watching White Christmas right now and I hope to watch specials & movies I haven't got to watch yet. I think we'll try and do the gingerbread houses today too.

This evening, our relatives from Pittsburgh are coming in to town. Their son is going to be playing hockey at our local rink, so if I'm feeling up to it, we'll go to the game and out to dinner with them.

I hope you all enjoy the day and have safe travels. Jesus is the Reason!

Praying the good stuff helps! xx

That was so sweet and thoughtful of your co-workers!

It wouldn't be the same without you here on New Year's eve, Auntie!
How's O'Malley?

A co-worker of mine is meeting her on-line romance man tomorrow. The difference is they live in the same Province so it's not like worrying about crossing the border and so forth.

A cousin of mine met her husband through a dating website eons ago and it worked out well for them.

Hope it works out or they change their names before exchanging vows.
Thank you Auntie!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve MMC! To me this day feels like the day before Thanksgiving. That's the type of anticipation it has. I know Christmas Eve is supposed to be that day of anticipation but that to me is the biggest day of the year so today is simply the Eve of it. And my brother did fly in yesterday. It was good to see him and you could tell he was happy to be here for the holidays. Today is the day to do last minute preparations. Yesterday was a long day and not a normal Saturday for sure. Have a great Christmas Eve Eve!

Good Sunday-before-Christmas! It got very cold overnight but the sun is shining bright. It was so busy at the store yesterday, a record Saturday. Should be more of the same today. Tonight we’re going to my in-laws. My father-in-law is Jewish and makes the best knish, can’t wait for a good meal with family. Have a wonderful day everyone!
