Good Morning, Folks.
Well, we are still here in one piece. Plenty of rain and gusty winds all day yesterday but no damage, just small branches and pine cones down.
What happened at the coast remains to be seen. Conditions still aren't good there and people are not being allowed back on the island, yet. Will be checking in with our contact over there once he's up and running. The local area websites indicate most structures are in pretty good shape but some have roof damage. Our place sits behind a large dune and is surrounded by dense vegetation but there are no trees to fall on the place. If the roof was not compromised, we might be OK. Glad the storm weakened and turned west before it arrived on Emerald Isle but what they did experience there was very long term.
Today's count:
Days to the Season: 59
Days to Christmas Day: 101
And just like that, we are at the doorstep of yet another Milestone marker, the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY Window.
The day after that?
We begin a double, double-digit count.
(And excitement fills the air!)
As stated above, yesterday was dominated by rain and wind which is supposed to continue today but things really weren't so bad. Much worse during hurricane Fran back in '96.
Overcast, breezy and very wet here right now but no rain is falling.
The temperature stands at 73 degrees.
Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone!
Thanks Crown! Stay safe this weekend!Good Morning, Folks.

My father is doing better, thank you for asking. Thankfully he responded well to the new medicine dosages, hopefully that continues. We appreciate the prayers Snowflake and I’m sending them back your way!

Happy Friday!
Prayers to all in the path of Florence. Typical day of work for me and a couple of errands later. Not too many plans for the weekend. On Sunday, my daughter has a softball game.
What is everyone's plans?
Prayers for all affected by the path or the results (directly and/or indirectly) from Florence. I'll keep you all in mind.
For me it's been a strange week. I just got home from the funaral of my neighbour and friend Nathalie. And sadly there will soon follow an other one for my uncle.

TGIF, Christmas friends!
We went to the first night of The Addams Family Musical last night, and it was great! Elizabeth's part on stage was in the background, as a ghostly ancestor that dances and sings with the other ancestors. She was also the choreographer for the production, and all of the dances were, in my unbiased opinion, brilliant! There were waltzes, a tango, tap dance scenes...it was great! We're going back tonight and tomorrow night.
Lunch with Mama today.
I hope 'all have a great, safe day!![]()
Good foggy morning MMC!! TGIF!!! I was surprised to open the blinds & see so much fog this AM! It's starting to clear up now. Our school is on a 3 hour delay!
Just work for me today ~ tonight I stay with mom. Tomorrow morning I'll be heading to the lake. We're watching the Bucks on the big screen tomorrow night (weather providing!) And I'll be back at Moms Sunday morning until Monday morning!
We have some excitement going on at our house today ~ this is our current situation. Who wants to try to park a vehicle in the garage???![]()

Continuing to pray for those effected by the storm! Today will be 95 F outside and muggy.... I hope it won't be another Christmas in the 90's this year. Not much going on today, just finishing up some work and then relaxing later!
That is a bummer, I will keep her in my thoughts a bit extra when she goes there. At least she bargained a bit & is getting some good treats!Unfortunately Lucy is liking going to the groomer less & less!! She is fine with it - but she doesn't like her nails trimmed!! The groomer said Lucy SCREAMS with every nail she trims!!So yesterday she gave her a treat after every nail & she stopped screaming after the 1st 2 nails. Little stinker!!!! Spoiled rotten!!!

Hi everyone!
I wanted to check in quickly yesterday, but I didn't get the opportunity. Teaching has been going pretty well. It's a lot of planning for two different courses. As well, I am training for a race in about a week, so that also takes up a lot of my time.
Kim and I went to visit some friends at their new house last night and I noticed one of them was wearing Christmas socks. Crazily, I hadn't noticed until that moment that it was, indeed, September 13th; exactly two months until the beginning of the Christmas Season. Needless to say, I really wanted to post when I returned home. Instead, I had some work that I needed to finish.
Anyway, I am super excited that we are now less than two months away from the Christmas Season. Also, we are less than two months away from the debut of the Most Wonderful Thread of the Year. I actually think I will have some time this weekend to see if I can load a few shots into my Christmas Cannon.
The time of the year is almost upon us. I'm excited to see Christmas start to bud and soon after blossom in front of our very eyes. The 2018 Season will bring a whole new form of magic for us all.
Until then, let's do our best to enjoy this Friday afternoon and bring on the weekend!
Thank you! Now it's just reminding her to be careful and to watch her head. I feel like all I say now is be careful of your head![]()
Merry Friday!
I finally got to have lunch with my friend today. This is the first year her and her husband are home owners so she was telling me how excited she is to decorate for the holidays. We walked around walmart amd target p so she could get some pretty fall decorations

Good Saturday morning! Though this will be a perfect Summer weekend weather-wise, it is my last weekend on vacation and that brings sadness and some anxiety. We have to go grocery shopping and some chores to do around the place, but other than that the weekend is wide open. Hope everyone will have a great one!
Good morning, friends. Sitting out on the deck, drinking coffee, and checking on my Christmas friends. Hope everyone is ok in the storm...
Hard to believe that tomorrow starts the best 100 days of the year. This is one of my favorite, if not favorite, markers. I just love it! I have my little Countdown Clock ready to go!
Not much planned for today. Going to sit out on the deck, do some yard work, and not much else. Looks to be a great Saturday!
Good morning all. It's a nice morning here, the first one in over a week it feels like. I just had to go outside this morning to have my morning coffee out on the back deck, it was so peaceful, relaxing, just sitting there listening to the water running in the brook, the crickets a chirping away and taking in the sunshine and watching the trees in the woods. A real nice way to start the day.
I wish everyone a great day!
Happy Saturday, buddy!Happy Friday, MMC!!! Nothing much to report here. Just going to be a laid back kinda weekend. I hope everyone has a great one!!!!
Thank you, snowflake! I hope you have a fabulous weekend, too!Happy Saturday, Brent!
