Good Tuesday evening. If you can spare a good thought or two for my colleague I would greatly appreciate it. Her first sonogram last Friday has her doctor concerned enough to have transferred her case to the St-Justine's hospital for children in Montreal. She's waiting for them to call her in for further tests. The nuchal translucency is thicker than normal, which could mean anything from a virus to Down syndrome or other serious issues. She showed us a picture of that little life growing inside of her, so beautiful. I'm really hoping that further tests will show there's nothing wrong.

Keeping your colleague and baby in my prayers, Martine. xx

Happy Tuesday! Yet more rain in the forecast, my kids are off today due to professional development day. Just work for me and the repairman is coming to fix our washer. I got it 2 months ago and it keeps going off balance...hopefully it is a quick fix. Hope you all have a great day!
I hope it was a quick fix!
Thank you so much!! Yesterday was a little better day - haven't gotten a report yet this morning! Hopefully she's starting a string of better days! xx
You're welcome! We will continue to pray!
Hope your weather day is better than expected! Dreary & super windy here!!
Which just caused me too look outside & realize the wind has definitely picked up in the last hour. Wow!
It was dreary and rainy here all day too
View attachment 51552 Good morning, MMC! Not much planned for today. Now that I’m decorated and have the main cleaning done, I think I’ll try and get my bedroom done today and start going through what presents I’ve bought so far. I also have my niece today, but DH doesn’t go to work until 430, so that helps. I work tonight at 11, but am on call from 7-11, if they need me to come in.

I started a new thread in Christmas together - share your Christmas decorations! Can’t wait to see everyone’s! Hope you all have a warm and great Tuesday!

Enclosed is a pic of my tree for a sneak peak!
The tree is beautiful!
I’m so sick of the calls too! It doesn’t help that I’m a nurse and DH is in a union, working for the fire department. We get calls for this too during this time. Drives me nuts!
We haven't picked up the phone in days due to all the calls. My mom said they can leave a message amd if she wants to call them back she will.
Good Election Day afternoon, Christmas Friends!

I’m traveling for work this week, but I voted earlier last week. Win or lose, I’ll be glad when this is behind us!

Just had a turkey panini in my hotel room, now if have to go back to the conference.

I hope y’all have a great day!:D
Have a safe trip

Just another day of work. It was dreary and rainy. Today was also super stressful for my town as it was the election for mayor, council and school board. One person who won a seat on the school board was elected a few years ago and quit because he was "bored". I don't understand how people could vote him in again knowing that he quit last time

Morning MMC! We finally should see some sun on this Pines Day. That will be nice for a change. Looks like a really cold blast comes in this weekend and then an even colder one next week at this time. Brrr...going to feel like winter in Autumn. Have a great day!

Merry Pines Day ~
It’s going to be sunny today with a high of 60 degrees. I’m going to pick my mother up later this morning and we’re going to make a Costco run. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. I also have to make a pot of sauce, dinner will be spaghetti and chicken parmesan. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day. See you tonight!
xx

will be praying for her and the precious little one she carries under her heart.

we had our elections a few weeks ago. What gets me is the number of people who just don't care about who runs our city or schools, evidenced by the lack of voter turn out.

Good Morning fellow Christmas lovers !

another wet and windy day here in south western Ontario.
Working (paid work that is) today, 4 hour shift so should go fast.
My daughter has a few things yet to get for decorating reception hall and final fitting for her dress is tomorrow morning in London. LittleCS and I have our dresses altered and almost ready to go. Need to find a suit for my son, he tried his on and it no longer fits (should have done that sooner !)

We are looking for a skinny Christmas tree this year, with our limited space I thought this would be a much better idea.

Hope you all enjoy your day, think of you often even if I do not have much time to come here.

We had a huge turnout and most of the town was planning to bullet vote for 1 candidate, but my dad thinks that there might have been people who did absentee ballots for the other people. The one we all wanted on the board was a parent and an assistant principal in another district

Well, Friends. It's nearly here. We are on the threshold.
TOMORROW begins our Special Post series, as we count down the final days to the beginning of Christmas Season 2018.

Let's look at the numbers first, then re-cap the post schedule.
Days to the Season: 6 (Now UNDER ONE WEEK left!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 15 (TWO WEEKS from TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 48 (Now below the 7 week mark!)

OK. Once again, the Special Post itinerary:
Nov. 08 (Day 5 before the Season) = Made582
Nov. 09 (Day 4 before the Season) = Binger
Nov. 10 (Day 3 before the Season) = SnowflakeMom
Nov. 11 (Day 2 before the Season) = Ballcoach
Nov. 12 (Day 1 before the Season) = Minta

You don't want to miss this series, Folks. Trust me.

Nice and warm yesterday, with no further rain.
Today will begin a cooling trend which is supposed to culminate Saturday night with lows below freezing.
For now, we commence this center day of the week with a thermometer reading of 55 degrees.

Well, Halloween is past with Thanksgiving pending, and this is a busy time of the year for our harried but always friendly activities director, Carl Camel.
With all the spooky decorations down, our inn of choice is taking on a fall/Thanksgiving decor and no doubt the open house on Nov. 21 will be a very memorable one with all the fixings.
Until then, come and join us at the 'Pines this evening for a festive fall experience.

Until that time, have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!

Happy Pines Day! Finally we have some sun out there...just work for me today and it is so nice not to see election commercials and I saw a Christmas one for Michael's for a sale on trees and holiday décor. Hope you all have a great day!!

Happy Pines Day, MMC!!! The sun is shining and the wind has died off. So it should be a beautiful day!!! Mom has PT at 11:45. So I get to spend the lunch hour at the hospital. The gift shop is having a Christmas open house at least, so I can kill some time checking it out. Then I have a few other errands to run. I need to put the finishing touches on my special post for tomorrow too. It’s not as eloquent as I was hoping for but I think I get my point across. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning MMC! It's a sunny, though chilly Pines Day morning! We are up to 39º now, but a low of 29 is predicted for tonight! Brrrr! That's the 1st 20 something I've seen! As of now, we have snow predicted for Friday! Whoop whoop! :D (not holding my breath, but...)
:snowball

So I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday, then realizing it's Wednesday - not looking too forward to the work day....dragging my feet getting ready for work...and then I drive by our church where I see the church (reserved parking) signs up for a funeral of a 46 year old local man/friend of many/teacher/football coach/track coach/husband/father/upstanding citizen... made me sick. My day is perfect!!!

Working both jobs again today - so typical day for me. (my new normal for now...LOL) I'm kind of excited this afternoon at my new job we have a local lady who has a printing (advertising) business coming in for us to pick out shirts with the company logo on them. It will be nice to not have to think about what to wear every morning!!! :)

Everyone, have a GREAT day!!! Looking forward to the Pines tonight!!!

Maybe you could finish them off smaller, as "lapghans," and donate them to a local chemotherapy infusion center. Those places are always cold! I sometimes make lapghans with leftover yarn and drop them off a few times a year. (I have some in Christmas colors to take in December!)
That is so awesome that you do that! Most of them I have started have a sequence - one is a corner to corner so I can't cut that short - another I'm using a discontinued very soft yarn - I plan (if I ever finish) to use up all the yarn & then call it done. I think I only have a skein or 2 left. Another is a sequence of about 14 colors - using each color on the bottom & each color on the top - so those are hard to cut short. I could probably donate to a battered women's shelter, but even that is 50 miles away. We really have nothing close to donate too - we have to drive for everything. We are so rural here.
