Good afternoon .. 1st day of spring and it's snowing. They keep upping our snow totals it was 4-8 and I believe the latest is 12-16 inches. I see a snow day or 2 from work Well our heater is still not fixed but should be this afternoon. Had to wait for a part to come and thankfully it came in this morning. I hope everyone else in this storms path has a safe day!

Get this, the National weather service has upped the totals once more for my area from 5-9 inches to 8-16" and the predicted amounts are still climbing.

We're still looking for 8 to 12 inches. I think it's trending slightly southward.

I ♥ Garfield....and that's A LOT of snow!!!!! For my brother it still says 6-9" with localized amounts up to 13"! Can't imagine!!!! ENJOY!!! Ours still says 3-5 tonight with another inch tomorrow.

They show it starting here around 4 as rain and then switching to snow fairly quickly.

They bumped ours up to 6:00 tonight. At least I will be able to watch it for a bit before it gets dark!!! (that is IF it starts when they are predicting it!) Stay safe 'n warm!! The sun has left us already & BRRRRRR, That wind!!!

Thanks!! We have dual heaters, one for the 1st floor and one for the 2nd floor. It's the heater for the 1st floor that broke, we have been running the oven and 2 space heaters to keep the 1st floor temps bearable.

Happy first day of Spring!
We have some snow heading our way tomorrow, we’re expecting up to 8 inches. I decided to run a few errands this morning so I can stay in tomorrow. I also had an appointment to look at a venue for my daughters bridal shower. I loved the place so I left a deposit and booked it for October. So exciting! I’m going to catch up on some chores as soon as I finish my cup of coffee. I hope everyone is having a nice day so far!

We just got an invitation to my nephew & his wife's baby shower. It's going to be at my brother/sil house - they are having a cook out & it's going to be a gender reveal on a Saturday afternoon at the end of April. I haven't broke it to my hubby yet, but guys are invited too - couples shower. He will be THRILLED...NOT!

Will you be able to work from home?

If the forecast stays close to that range, I'll opt to work from home. It's a bit of a pain, but not nearly as much of a pain as trying to drive through snow...and I already had a mishap yesterday, because a either a pothole or some old storm debris blew out one of my tires on the way home from work. Happily, no damage other than the tire itself.

Edit to add: The forecast now says 6 to 9 inches, but adds that due to the wet, heavy nature of the snow, "tree branches could fall." I don't want any part of driving under branches that may fall! Or power lines!

CINDY DAY, Chief Meteorologist with our local Halifax Herald paper, and SaltWire Network, says that her Grandma had theory. Her Grandma watched the wind direction at the precise time of the Spring equinox. Don't forget that is tomorrow. She believed it pointed to the type of summer we could expect.

Here’s how: "A south wind meant the summer would be warm. If the wind was from the north it would be colder than average. An east wind would bring lots of damp or wet weather, and a west wind promised a dry season. If the wind was light, less than 5 km/h at the precise time of the equinox, the wind direction could be considered variable and not a good indicator."

Spring arrives at 12:14 Eastern tomorrow, so just for fun I am going to give this a try. Ha ha...

Today at the precise time of the Spring equinox (1:14 pm Atlantic Daylight Time) the wind here in Annapolis County was from the West. So according to Ms. Day's Grandmother we will have a dry summer here in this part of Nova Scotia. I will keep you informed.

That's about 30 plus Centimeters in Canada talk ha ha. We are expecting about 10 cm here mixed with rain Wednesday night into Thursday. It will be our 4th Northeaster in 3 weeks. Best of luck with your power.

That would be dangerous, for forest fires; and people on dug wells would find it hard to get water.
