Oh wow, is that early? My wife still has around 4 more weeks of school left here in Connecticut.

Most schools in Ohio are out around Memorial Day. The school where I teach is always done just before Memorial Day, and the school where my wife teaches usually ends the week of Memorial Day. Schools here start towards the middle of August. Very few days off in the fall, 2 weeks for Christmas, and most schools get a 1 week Spring Break. However, my school only does a long weekend for Spring Break which is why I get done before my wife's school.

Morning MMC! Happy Memorial Day! We are officially back on the road to the Bers. It's a great feeling. And we now can enjoy the summer hopefully. We are having a BBQ here. Hope you all enjoy the holiday and take a moment out to remember what it's really about. Have a great one!

Good Monday morning! The last day of my 3-day weekend. It’s cool and rainy this morning but it will clear up and temps will go up
throughout the day, along with high humidity. I’m just doing some laundry right now and relaxing some before getting the day going. Hope you all enjoy a great day!

Lovely weather where I am in the UK today, it’s Bank holiday meaning no school or work which is an added treat.
Exciting times I’ve just booked NYC for a trip in December - it’s a surprise for the kids they’ve never been to US and are absolutely desperate to visit. Plan is we surprise them on Christmas Day then fly out 26th :) any hints & tips appreciated as I’ve no idea where to start!

Same for us. We start this year on August 13th. We get Labor Day off, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas. We are doing something new this year. We have bunched up a few days around Thanksgiving. We are doing some professional development work Wed-Fri the week before Thanksgiving, taking flex days the Monday and Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving, and then we are get our break. All in all, we will be out from Nov. 14-Nov. 23rd for Thanksgiving! Almost two weeks....

Yea here in TN they have been out now almost two weeks and they go back Aug 1st. My daughter keeps asking is it time for school yet, she is so happy that this will be first real year of school. She graduated Kindergarten so its off to 1st grade.

Good Morning, Fearless Folks.

And we are fearless because we revere and support everything Christmas year round, risking the scorn of those who don't have the same level of understanding that we do.
We are the proud keepers of the flame.

And it is with pride that the following numbers are presented to commence this last partial week of May 2018:
Days to the Season: 169
Days to Christmas Day: 211

And just like that, we find ourselves only two steps away from SINGLE DIGITS to our next Milestone, the 200-Day Christmas Day marker.
(So close, you could reach out and touch with a short candy cane!)

It was fairly warm yesterday, with just a touch of humidity but no rain.
Today brings with it a much better chance of precipitation and we have commenced it cloudy here in central NC at 74 degrees.

I hope you have a Marvelously Merry Memorial Day Monday, My Friends!
And take a few moments to think about family, friends and strangers who sacrificed their all so we could enjoy this day as free people.

A memorable Memorial Day to everyone!

It's cloudy and chilly here today ... tomorrow, when we're back at work, it's supposed to be 81F and sunny. Somebody messed up!

I'm really enjoying having a 3-day weekend. Things at the office are so hectic with so many short deadlines and last-minute revisions that it's a real treat to be away from that for more than a regulation weekend. No big plans today. We're just hanging around the house doing our personal projects and playing it by ear. With the fridge and freezer on the blink, we'll probably eat out later.

That is interesting for Thanksgiving. We usually get Wednesday through Friday off for Thanksgiving, plus the weekend of course.
When I was in college I was on quarters and we finished the first quarter just before Thanksgiving and the next quarter did not start until January! That was great!

Good afternoon, rain held off today but the humidity did creep back up a bit Was able to get one raised garden bed today and got the blueberry bushes planted. Covered them with a net to keep the animals out. I was watching a MASH marathon this morning and the last episode was a Christmas one :)
Made a batch of double chocolate banana bread this morning, tested a new recipe which is a keeper.

Well we hit 95 degrees today. We haven’t been that warm in May in 107 years. So while we grilled out, we also ran right back inside to eat. Lol!! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day!!
