Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!
It's cold, windy and overcast this morning. I thought it was Spring?!
It seems like all I do is brag on my kids these days, and I apologize, but here's some more: Elizabeth has been accepted into the Honors Program at the University, AND she earned a full-ride scholarship!! I'm so proud of my little girl, I could cry! She had to interview for both a few weeks ago, and we were worried because it was the day after her grandmother's funeral, but she obviously nailed it!
And Jacob has been on the Dean's List continuously for the last three years! It's hard to imagine that he'll be a senior in the Fall.
Ok. I hope y'all have a great day, too!
(Did I mention how proud I am of my kids?)![]()
Not too many, says the guy visiting Dad and his wife in South Florida...Caught the Marlins/Nats Spring Training game this afternoon. Unfortunately, the Ancient One(Dad) didn't attend the contest with me. Last year, it was dangerously hot for him and this time he was under the weather. We'll look forward to 2020 and hope it works out.

Thanks Crown! Happy 1st Day of Spring!Good First-Day-of-Spring Morning, my Friends!
Doesn't much feel like it here so far, with our temp in the 30's, but psychologically, it helps with my mood.
This is a nice mood-booster, too:
Days to the Season: 238
Days to Christmas Day: 280
And what will really do the trick is noting the closeness of our next marker.
It is of course, the ONE-QUARTER Milestone to Christmas Day 2019, and it now lurks just SIX days into the future. Less than a week away.
(I'm afraid to even look at what the next marker is!)
We are in a cool spell, but not cold. A medium weight jacket will do for warmth.
But I'm looking forward to Sunday and early next week, when it will really feel like spring!
We start off this center week day at 39 degrees here in the state capital and we may be in for some rain later today and tonight.
Well, the first day of spring means new decor at the Shispering Pines Inn and Carl, feeling springy, has outdone himself. Everything is fresh and airy. (Even the fired twinkies seem lighter and more fluffy!)
Will we see all of you there? Hope so!
Until then, you all have a Wonderful Wednesday, Folks!
Happy Saturday!
Gosh, it feels good to be in a weekend again. The past several weeks at work have been hard; I think only one day was less than 9 hours, and many/most were 9.5 to 10. We're in the midst of a major launch campaign for an important new client, and that's been leading to a lot of rush jobs and late-day revisions. I had to go home sick yesterday morning---bad headache and fatigue, so it's all catching up with me. But none of that to deal with today and tomorrow!
Oops! I misunderstood your wordage...This is what happens when you spend ten minutes of your half hour lunch catching up at The Christmas Countdown.
Good Sunday morning! After a few mild days it has turned very cold this morning. At least a lot of the ice has melted and sidewalks are safer. One last work day and then I’m off for 8 days. Hope everyone has a great day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day MMC! And Happy 3rd birthday to Rollins. It's cold and sunny here. Just going to do some errands and give Rollins some new toys/treats for his bday and his little friend is coming over. She just turned 1 the other day so they will have a little party together. Have a great St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Patty’s Day! Today is my MIL’s bday so we may stop over later. I am going to make my corned beef and cabbage tomorrow night. Hope you all have a good day.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Not much going on here today. Really just a normal Sunday... laundry, school prep, grocery store.
This coming Thursday I will be taking 17 of my students to Harpers Ferry West Virginia, the battlefield at Antietam, and the battlefield at Gettysburg. It is an optional trip for the Civil War class I teach. We leave around lunch time on Thursday and come back on Sunday. It is a fun trip for everyone. The parents who go also really enjoy the trip. Even my superintendent shows up on the last day. He is a former history teacher and Civil War buff. Looking ahead in terms of the weather, it looks to be very nice for the trip. We are out on the battlefields rain, sleet, snow, or shine.
Everyone have a great day!
Good Sunday morning, and Happy St. Patrick's Day, Christmas friends!
I've been away for a few days with Elizabeth's State Literary Competition on Wednesday (they won!), and her dance competition on Saturday (they won that, too!). She's getting used to trophies and medals LOL.
Thursday was mom's surgery for breast cancer, and the doctor said it was a complete success! She still has to endure radiation treatment, but that's ok. We'll find out that schedule when she goes for her follow-up appointment on Friday.
In the meantime, it's been a great week for my family! Nancy is slowing improving after suffering the loss of her mother.
Thanks for all the prayers and kind thoughts, my friends! I think my family is doing great now.
I hope y'all have a wonderful Sunday!![]()
Gosh, I can't begin to describe how great today has been. Started with coffee on the deck, small fire. Doc cooked all of us breakfast. I've got some ribs cooking. The weather is beautiful and I have been able to get out and work in the yard. It has just been amazing. Here's to hoping your day has been as good!
Haven't posted in a while, just checking in. And I wish everyone a nice monday and a great week!
