My friend and I are doing brunch on Saturday instead.

It could very well have been the same storm. It stopped raining an hour before I had to go to work and then rained again during the day and then stopped. I went out after work to run a quick errand and a few drips hit my windshield and then SWOOSH! Big rain came down and then when I parked in my driveway it stopped so I could get back inside without getting wet. It was sunny all around my city, but not directly above me. It's better than a snow storm.

It was the lightening and rolling thunder and a "clap" close to here that spooked O'Malley. There are roofers around the neighbourhood, but not too close so he should be okay. I haven't heard the blasting from the HWY construction so hopefully, the cat can't hear it either.

We aren't supposed to get anymore rain until Saturday.

I am looking forward to my vacation.

It's great to read that all is good out your way! There's lots to be thankful for out this way and my brother has small improvements every day so that makes things good.

I haven’t been around enough to know exactly what is going on with your brother but attitude is huge! I’m glad to read he’s doing better!! I will keep him & your family in my prayers!

Thank you for inquiring about David. He is steadily improving physically but is struggling mentally with not being able to work. As far as me getting in more sleep, no luck last night as I slept less than 5 hours.

You're welcome, Martine. I'm glad to read that David is improving physically. It has to be frustrating to not be able to work ~ I will keep praying for him. I'm sorry you didn't sleep well again ~ praying you get the rest you need this weekend!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

I didn't get much done yesterday afternoon. I moved my mower to my brother's shop, but he was already gone for the day so I went home. Jacob is on "tour", Elizabeth was at Mary Poppins rehearsals, and Nancy went shopping, so it was just me, Lulu and sack full of tacos.

Mama is taking all of us out to dinner tomorrow evening to celebrate Jim's birthday (the 9th) and mine (this Sunday).

My brilliant bride made it through another outpatient surgery, yesterday. Smooth sailing...She tends to heal easily.
That having been said, we were both worn down, last evening, from a long day at the hospital. We snoozed out, for awhile, before pulling the evening meal together.

Well,well, well - i’m guessing I have a lot of catching up to do! How is everybody? I sure miss visiting here every day! Things are pretty good and crazy here! Weather has been crazy – a lot of flooding earlier (June). Now it’s HOT!
I sure have been enjoying the Christmas movies on Hallmark movies and mysteries! I hope you all are too!

I’m going to see if I can catch up a little bit! I hope all is well with all of you!

Merry Friday Eve!

Talked to my brother earlier today and he is much improved in spirit. He was so happy to get out of the cancer unit at the hospital and back to the VA hospital. He has a private room so he can sleep and he was raving about the food and had the TV on so that tells me he is doing great! The doctors and PT team all say he is showing improvement.

There is still a long road for him and we still don't know all the details regarding his disease or what kind of treatment plan he will have to follow, but I think he has overcome a great hurdle in that he isn't as depressed and he is making plans for home improvement. He is being positive and that will go a long way to helping him heal.

Again, thank you so much for the positive thoughts and prayers for him. He wanted me to thank you on his behalf, too. He thinks the world of all of you.

It has cooled down quite a bit ~ should be able to sleep a lot better tonight!

Good Merry Morning Gettin' my Jolly on!

My dad and I were trying to play things by ear, but yesterday realized neither of us are that spontaneous and want to have a rough idea of where we will be sleeping while we're travelling together. Especially important for the first night.

I grabbed a bunch of free maps from CAA for my dad to check out. We will share the driving, but will have to rely on his GPS a few times as some of the directions for our destinations are unfamiliar to us.

I'm checking out "things to do" in a few places.

I will start packing this afternoon; surprised I'm not packed already.

O'Malley the cat will be going to spend time with the crazy cat lady; I'll stay to visit for about two hours and see how they take to each other. I bought him a new litter pan, food dishes, a placemat for his dishes and a new medium sized plush cat bed that is rectangular with a slight edge in a sand colour and much flatter than the old one. I sprayed it with a bit of my husband's cologne otherwise he'll have to make himself comfy on Sandy's floor.

Oddly enough the hard part for me will be sleeping all alone here tonight. I'll likely go to sleep with some music playing softly in the background. It's not the quiet or being alone that bothers me; it's blocking out my crazy thoughts. I have to remind myself that I sleep alone when I'm traveling for work so it's no big deal.

They're calling for rain later today, but right now it's blue skies with a few white clouds.

There are heat warnings for the direction we're heading in tomorrow so I'm glad my dad had the air conditioning fixed in the car.

I'll get a chance to post early tomorrow over coffee before we head out.

I am not taking my laptop with me. I need a new one (I'll pick something up for Back to School Deals) and this one actually belongs to work so I can't afford to have anything go wrong with it.

I will be 9 days merry and social media free. I don't have my work email added to my phone so it will be a true vacation.
