Good Morning, New Week Friends.
It's hard to believe that as of tomorrow, we will be three weeks into the new year already.

And are our count numbers any more believable?
Let's check:
Days to the Season: 296
Days to Christmas Day: 338

Well if that's believable for you, try this fact on for size:
In just 22 days - THREE WEEKS FROM TOMORROW - we will be a full QUARTER of the way back to our long-awaited and much-coveted Christmas Season.

Well, the weather service was right on the money yesterday in their prediction of a warm start, then steadily colder temperatures during the day. It was windy too, making the day progressively more unpleasant as it wore on.
This morning, we have bottomed out at 19 degrees to start things off here and we may not reach the freezing mark for our afternoon high.

Congratulations to the Patriots and the Rams for their wins yesterday.
The Super Bowl will be a week from this coming Sunday.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!
Thanks Crown! Happy Martin Luther King Day!

Happy Monday! I am having a lazy morning, drinking coffee. My youngest woke up not feeling well..sounds like it could be start of the stomach bug. Ugh! It is freezing out there so I am planning on staying in for most of the day and catching up on laundry. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning from a chilly Central Indy where we currently stand at 4 degrees. I don’t have much planned today. Just going to try and stay warm. I may run to the store this afternoon to get milk if I feel adventurous. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Prayers that she feels better quickly, SFM! Some have been lasting with it around our neck of the wood for 3-4 days. Yuck. Lot of hydration and rest.

Happy New Week! Keep warm!

VERY cold and windy here. So very happy that it's a holiday so we can stay and and keep cozy. Had a great time last night running a long double feature on our new wide movie screen.

I want to share something with you guys that I typed up on Facebook this am - hope you don’t think I was being to blunt or harsh, but sometimes you have to be. :

Here’s something to think about this am: I keep reading about this snow storm being such a “disappointment”. I kind of feel like a major snow fall to us an equalizer (and probably not even compared to) because people lose their homes, lives, etc to tornadoes, floods, hurricanes - I say this because when I say major - I’m talking like several feet, the ones that cause power outages, sometimes flooding afterwards, so on, but in our neck of the woods rarely do we have weather that can compare. I understand people were excited for the snow and are let down by the weathermen. We got 9-10 inches at our house, but here’s my question to you. Think right now about the people right now up east in the New England States, who will lose power, that are getting so much snow, that they are saying is going to cause flooding, or our first responders that have to brave the cold and the roads - take for example the fireman that had to battle the fire all night last in the cold in Bedford County, just as some examples. I don’t know - call me crazy.

I won't call you crazy. I will call you right. Wishing for a foot of snow....when it has a lot of consequences and danger...is pretty selfish. Thanks for pointing out the other side of the story. I should know better.

Your Momma/Nurse knowledge is on point.

Good morning, friends! Hope you are enjoying MLK Day.

I slept in. I got to sleep until 6:30 a.m.! Doc had to work and she woke the girls up getting ready. They quickly wanted Daddy to get up and play. That's ok. Can you think of a better way to spend the day?

I'm goign to do the washing, clean the house, and cook supper for the week. When Doc comes home, hopefully we and watch a movie or something (since I watched football ALL DAY yesterday).

Brrrr... good morning .... I love it when its cold enough to snow and it snows but this ... this single digits, neagative wind chill factor and the wind strong enough to take you to OZ has got to go. I think I will do some baking today .. the hot oven will help keep it warm in here. Hope everyone stays warm today.

Sounds like the perfect day to me! We have our niece today (she just a year old in December), so she is a great age. Lots of fun and learning so many new things. Our kids are home due to MLK and good thing, with the wind, snow, and frigid temps. Since DH has been busting his butt, he has caught what DD had last week, was running a temp last night and hasn't been feeling up to par, so I let him obviously rest a lot of last evening, so I think we'll shy away of grocery shopping today, but the kids to have to go the dentist this afternoon, so he'll run them there and I'll stay home with our niece and we'll do the shopping tomorrow, since the kids will be back in school. Enjoy your day, friend!

Good morning MMC!! Merry Monday! It's Merry b/c I am home from work this morning...though it's frustrating b/c I'm trying to figure out my phone that is not working. Grrrr!! It's a cold one out there. It as -7, feels like -16 when I went to work. But when I got to work, I found that our internet was not working, which meant there was nothing for me to do. So I stayed an hour & then headed back home. I'm heading back after lunch unless I hear from them that the internet has not been fixed. xx (that wouldn't break my heart - ha ha!)
Everyone, have a GREAT day!!!

What kind of dip? I love dip!
It was a hit!
It's:
1 C. of chopped broccoli (I think spinach would be good too)
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 C. sour cream
1 pkg. Good Seasonings Italian dressing mix
2 C. Cheddar Cheese (or any cheese you want to use)
Bake at 350 until all melted together.
I put it in a pie pan. And I mixed in a good part of the cheese, but I saved some to melt on top too. I'll make it again!
I had tortilla chips & small pretzel rods to dip in it. My co-worker said she uses pita chips, but the recipe says to use veggies...so basically whatever you want to serve it with! ;)

Hello all.

Well, I am very disappointed in the weather right now. We were forecast to get 8-12 inches of snow today and tonight. Woke up this morning to rain and freezing rain. It is not after 3:00 and still freezing rain... no snow. :(
It is still suppose to change to snow this evening and we should get a couple of inches along with 40mph wind. But that is a far cry from the snow I wanted.
I was looking forward to sitting here on my birthday and watching it snow all day. Instead I am sitting here watching rain! Bleh

Well, I hope everyone is having a good day.
I hope you had a great birthday despite the snow taking it's dear ol time to get there!!!

In regards to the snow, I think Holiday, who is northwest of me, got all snow today! I'm jealous! :)
LOL! We did have some snow - it started as snow, then turned to sleet for way too long - then turned back to snow. We didn't get nearly what was predicted but with the blowing, we have some good drifts.

Praying your youngest is better soon!
