Good morning, MMC and Happy Pines Day! Day off today. DH and I are both off, so we plan on doing more for the yard sale we're having next weekend. We have to price tag items and work on grouping items. Other than that, we have nothing else planned. We'll probably sit outside later and enjoy the weather.

Have a blessed day, friends!

Merry Wednesday Christmas and Happy Pines Day!
Our fingers are crossed as we have not had rain in over three weeks. But tonight thru this weekend is supposed to be very wet. #fingerscrossed

Merry Pines Day!
It’s going to be cloudy here today with showers and thunderstorms this evening. I just got home, Rocky had an early groomer appointment. I ran a couple of errands while he was there. I’m going to work on some chores around the house now. I also have to get a pot of sauce started, dinner will be spaghetti & chicken parm. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day. See you tonight!
xx

Good Afternoon/Evening MMC friends...Hope everyone is having a merry day so far...Well i managed my few days with the kids lol...But ohh boy was a glad to see my wife walk in the door tonite....We had a fun few days while my wife was away...Enjoying a well deserved glass of wine here tonite...Hope everyone has a lovely evening ahead with your loved one's:)

Good Wednesday morning! After two days of bitter cold where we had to wear jackets to stay warm, it looks like temperatures will be going up and the sun will make an appearance again. Actually they predict a nice end to the week, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Three more work days to go before I am on vacation for 9 days. I will go in early today because there is a lot to do and I'm training new hires on and off all week so there is little time left for everything else. I also have to go and order cake or cupcakes for our employees, to encourage them as we are collecting donations all month for the Dress for Success organization, which helps women in financial difficulties.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good to hear the weather is getting better. Hope you enjoy your vacation. I've heard of Dress for Success. I missed the local event so I gave my husband's good clothes to some young adults at the Crisis Centre so they can look sharp for job interviews or other special events or simply to feel good wearing them.

The rain has subsided enough and we've had sunny days in between so the flood warnings for nearby communities has been reduced. There was lots of destruction and damage to many homes, but the overall threat for the entire community is no longer a high alert.

I'm on my way to the Pines, but O'Malley can't come; he's still in quarantine until Monday so next week he can join Carl again.

I finally connected with the Public Health Inspector and described O'Malley's disposition and hardships of late and she's still coming to see him tomorrow morning. She said - and I quote, "I just need to see that you are both alive and well and we can take this case off my books." He's already served his quarantine time for the rabies virus to show itself so that's being ruled out. Didn't she listen to anything I shared with her? It's frustrating because it is a waste of tax payers money to have her give up an hour of her time to play phone tag with me and then come and check to make sure that my cat is an indoor cat and that he and I are both alive.

Anyway, it will all be over soon. At least I learned a lesson about cat bites, but honestly, I never realized when it first happen that he managed to penetrate my skin as deep as he had. Fang boy has been very good since that night. I'm hoping he has his halo on for our visitor.

I sorted through over 34 CDs to bring to the Celebration of Life for my husband and loaded them onto a CD stand since I can't use my USB stick to play music at this venue.

I should have just paid my brother to bring up a few people from Toronto to entertain us, but my husband wanted folks to listen to the music he enjoyed over the years - so that's what we're doing.

I don't plan on playing DJ the whole night so if people get bored of a certain performer, band or compilation they can hop up and change it.

I'm off to find that camel and maybe take a dive into the pool.

Enjoy the rest of your night! -surprise-

Stupid Question Possibly! - Whats Pines Day?
I recently joined MMC and I was wondering the same thing about Pines Day, and even better than seeing the answer thanks to your post, I was so happy and relieved to see how kind the forum is by taking the "no stupid questions" attitude, so thank you Skippy for having the courage I lacked!

@Skippy1707 and you both are fine! I too was confused when I began here. In this Forum there’s a thread that’s called something like the History of the Pines and Carl and a Fired Twinkie. That will explain everything :)

We’re a kind and welcoming bunch! Jump right in and if there is something you don’t understand, don’t be afraid to ask!

::welcomeWelcome aboard the merry countdown train! :elfing

We're a merry bunch of Christmas Wackos.

That was great fun at the Shispering Pines - my flippers, mask and snorkel were put to good use in the pool. Hope I didn't disturb Crown's nap on the lawn chair.

Up and at it early, drinking my half-decaf from my huge S merry tartan Christmas mug that was one of my gifts from the Ornament Exchange last year.

Got a busy day ahead; will check in later tonight.

Keep a merry thought in your head! +l

Happy Forwarding Through The Week MMC! Definitely trying to push myself through each day. Still sick but not as bad as Wednesday. And Wednesday wasn't as bad as Tuesday. It's like I'm recovering a little each day. Hopefully that trend continues through today and tomorrow. I'd like to be close to normal for the weekend. Have a great day Forwarding Through The Week!

Good Morning, Folks!

Continuing our journey, we but turn another page.
Getting close to the end of this chapter though, as the statistics will bear out.

Days to the Season: 160
Days to Christmas Day: 202

And the "200's" chapter will be coming to an end in just TWO days.
The DAY AFTER TOMORROW, in fact!
That is when we will be opening the 200-Day Christmas Day Window to welcome in a double-100's level count sequence, and the ever-accelerating cruise on to Christmas Season 2019!

Had a bit of rain yesterday, with a severe thunderstorm watch out for most of the evening. Fortunately, we had no adverse weather conditions materialize were we are.
Today will see us move into the upper 80's with about a 40 percent chance of rain before we get a stronger chance of precipitation tomorrow.
We begin this day before Weekend Eve at 73 degrees, here.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Friends!

***** TRAVEL ALERT *****

Well, our first renters of the 2019 beach season will be arriving at the cottage this Sunday, so we will be traveling over there Saturday morning to iron out final details and to be sure everything is ready for them.
As such, a countdown volunteer will be needed for one morning only, this Sunday.
Anyone feel adventurous enough to take on the job?
(Whoever it is will have the honor of posting 199 for the Christmas Day number!)

Not at all, Auntie. That tea blend Carl gave me put me right to sleep and I dreamed I was munching on a fired twinkie while watching Binger swim in the pool, only the pool was filled with coffee. Weird dream......or was it??
