I had to go to Huntsville today and I stopped at the Christmas Tyme store and spent $145.00 on ornaments enough for a few exchanges and a few things for me.

I couldn't believe how very green everything is compared to a month ago. Wow! The grass, the trees - everything was looking more like summer than spring today.

Thanks for all the well wishes about O'Malley the cat; she didn't even check his litter box or anything - took one look at him and said, "He looks healthy enough and you and he don't have rabies so I can close the file." She added that since he doesn't get outside and there are no other animals here that I no longer have to worry about having him vaccinated against rabies which is a bonus because he is a grumpy puss and doesn't make it easy for me to get him in his cat carrier - which is really a small dog cage.

Stay Jolly! Or as the cat would say, "MERAWL!":ornarment

A little Christmas retail therapy is always a good thing. Awesome news about O'Malley. Hopefully he behaves himself.

Good evening all! Headed to the drive-ins with the family. Hope you’re all having a great day!

Good morning all.

I hope everyone is having a good Friday.

Last night my wife and I went to see the movie, Ma. It was pretty good.
This evening we are having dinner with my dad for his birthday (which was actually on the 4th). We are going to a great Mexican restaurant here in our town. It is called El Sombrero. It is truly the best Mexican food I have ever had. It is not the typical chain Mexican food. The owner is a great guy who uses his own recipes for all of the food. He also holds a Thanksgiving dinner for free every year. He collects donations to help with the cost, but the majority of the cost comes out of his own pocket. He is really a wonderful guy and does so much for the community.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Happy Belated Birthday to your dad!

No, not weird ... possibly just stressed, or a little down. I know that feeling well. Some days I'm a chatterbox, and other days I just don't want anyone to notice me. I call it "feeling mousy." Sometimes I can put my finger on what kicks it off; other times, I don't have a clue. But MMC is a good place to go when you're feeling kind of mousy.
*SQUEEK*, she said...*SQUEEK - SQUEEK*
O'mal Kitty opened half an eye, gave a snort, and went back to sleep.

I was just reminded that Elizabeth's very last dance recital is tomorrow evening. :( I've been going to her recitals since she was old enough to walk, and this is the last one. There have been too many "last times" lately, doggone it.

But so many exciting "first times" yet to come, like "Mary Poppins"!

Good Morning, Milestone Thresholders!

And once again, as we have 8 times before this year, we stand on the doorstep of another Milestone, this one being the 200-Day Christmas Day Window.

Days to the Season: 159
Days to Christmas Day: 201

After TOMORROW Folks, BOTH of our counts will start with the number "1".
(The year is slipping away, my Friends!)

We had the threat of rain for a good part of the day yesterday, but nothing more than a sprinkle actually fell.
Today, will see the odds of rain increase to 90 percent, with a high chance right on through the weekend.
Our present back yard thermometer reading is 75 degrees and we've already had a light sprinkle come and go.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Everybody!
Thanks Crown! Happy 1st TGIF of June!

You're right, of course! I've been resisting the temptation of indulging in melancholy, but it still slips in there now and then.

Cowboy-up, Brad! :D

Happy 1st TGIF of June MMC! The plan today for me is to do what I need to at work this morning and then leave around noon. I have not let my body recover and I'm feeling it. I've tried to drag myself through the week and not call in sick which I haven't done but that has caused my body to not fully recover. I will be fine with an afternoon to rest, evening to rest, and a weekend to take it easy (well I never fully stop but at least slow down a little). Have a great 1st TGIF of June!

I was talking a lot today and noticed my voice cracking a few times - I know it's just pollen related, but I'm like "I can't lose my voice; I have lots of talking to do tomorrow." I feel fine now.

Hope you recover quickly, but get to enjoy some of your weekend at the same time.

Good Morning MMC !

I need to get back to hanging out here more.
Been going through a rough patch, not sure what is going on. I feel like a gopher who pokes its head out once in awhile, smiles, waves then quickly retreats into its hole again. I have only been going out when I have to got to work or drive someone somewhere. You guys are the first I have told this to because this is the only place I feel safe to do so. Am I weird or what ?

One could never judge another's weird compass. Whether it's good for you, depends on whether or not you're enjoying your own company. If you feel like being alone for a bit to recharge your inner batteries or if you don't feel like being around others it can be a good and therapeutic thing. As long as you keep poking your head out and waving.
You also had computer issues for a while and got "out of step" with regular posting. I've always thought of you like an energizer bunny with your baking events taking care of Little S, etc.; perhaps you're just tired.

We're here so jump in whenever you need a merry fix. If you don't feel like waving, you can always read and when you're ready, you'll respond.

Be Jolly!

Morning all. Happy Friday! It's only 9:30 and it's already too warm for me. Took the dog to the forest for a nice walk and near the end he didn't want to play fetch anymore. He just walked quite a ways ahead of me and I found him waiting near the car. I guess it's too warm for him too.

Because of the heat, last night I was searching for a nice Christmas video to cool me off. I love the Rankin-Bass specials but I found one from 1968 called The Night Before Christmas. It's based on Clement Moore's book and features a nice choir singing parts of the story.

This was one I haven't seen before and was a nice surprise to a warm June night. Take care and keep cool.

That is one of my favourites. I also had the storybook album and played it over and over.

Got the dates for the Relay mixed up; it's not tonight; it's on the 21st - good 'cause I'm tired, plus I had to get a few more things for the party tomorrow. Getting wise with this tinsel-like hair, I didn't haul everything up only to tote back down to the car tomorrow, I left it in the trunk. I don't need the paper plates, pocket table games, etc. here so I locked them up.

I have bought some games, cards and fidget spinners to put on the tables - not that I expect things to get boring, but our family picnics always ended with board games so I thought I'd just put them out there to make it more fun and not so "funeral like".

I think my husband's Celebration of Life is going to feel more like a retirement party; except for the Urn and life's pleasures display. HaHa.

I meant to post that to AuntieMistleToeDear I think - and I have only just realised I wrote dog when I should of wrote cat! It was a long day yesterday!

I will post pictures when I have managed to get started , let alone complete the tablecloth but I have made her something every year and it always is appreciated by her because of the time and effort that goes in to it.

Wow - I bet she had some incredible stories to tell. What a life she must of led.

I hope you feel better soon Edge xxx Take it easy and rest up! xx

Not weird at all! We all have our comfort zones and people we feel comfortable talking to. I did it myself a few days ago and confided just how rubbish the last 18 months have been - Im not even sure my real world friends know most of whats happened! If you ever need a chat I am always about too so more than welcome to PM me :) xxx

You’re not weird at all, never think that! We’re all here to listen if you need to talk and if you ever need to vent. Prayers for you and hope that it gets better, Star. (((Hugs)))

I hope your rough patch passes (I don’t think it’s weird at all) Sending hugs your way!

I don't think you're any weirder than me, if that helps. ;)

I hope you feel better soon. I'll send a prayer for you!

You’re not weird. It sounds like you’re hurting which we all do from time to time. I always seek out my counselor when I feel that way and that helps me. Perhaps seeking counsel or a good friend (like here) might be a great place to start to keep your head out a little longer. Sending you love and prayers!

Thankyou everyone, I feel like I just got a big warm hug

I was just reminded that Elizabeth's very last dance recital is tomorrow evening. :( I've been going to her recitals since she was old enough to walk, and this is the last one. There have been too many "last times" lately, doggone it.

Thinking of you, Brad. I know how hard these past weeks have been on you, but know you’re raising a wonderful young woman and you should be so proud! Take lots of pictures and videos! (((Hugs)))
