Christmas Countdown - 2019

Good Morning, Tuesdayers!

Second day of the work week.
And the first day of the rest of our 2019 count.

The daily data:
Days to the Season: 85
Days to Christmas Day: 127

And just that quickly, we discover that we are just FIVE days off from the TWO-THIRDS Milestone marker to Christmas.
(This Sunday will be a ***MILESTONE DAY***, Folks!)

Our broken record of repetitive hot and humid days continues with no relief in sight. At least it cooled off a bit yesterday evening to make my outside yard work more pleasant.
Today, the Weather Channel predicts a high of 91, with a 20% chance of rain.
Work week day number two begins here in the capital city at 75 degrees.

Merry Tuesday!! Another warm and humid day, luckily we have AC. My oldest daughter has a soccer game tonight and then I need to catch up on laundry.
Has anyone noticed that it is getting darker earlier? I had to pick up my daughter around 8 and it was definitely darker. As much as I like the lighter days...there is just something that goes with the Bers and earlier nights.

Yes. And I've noticed it more in the mornings also. My drive to work was after sunrise a month ago. Now it's during the sunrise. Leave home in the dark, and 20 minutes later when I arrive at work, it's light out. :)

Some exciting news. I'm getting a new slow cooker. It should arrive today. It's programmable and cooks for up to 20 hours. Perfect for my apple butter recipe. My old one lost it's handle for the lid and has seen better days.

The FIL has had his hip surgery and is now going to be moved to the care home for recovery. They had to keep in for an extra day because the anesthetic caused a slight problem. It seems that people with dementia can regress after being under anesthesia. For the couple of days after the surgery he seemed more confused and irritable. A few times he thought it was just a plot to move him into a home, but we have reassured him that they just wanted to make sure everything was in place before he was moved to the care home.

Today is my father's mother's birthday. My grandmother is 88 today and is still as spry as ever. We'll get to see her next year when we go to my half-sister's wedding. Looking forward to it.

Good afternoon ... another hot, humid, oppressive day here and we are still expecting to have a few days of this before it finally breaks. When it's cold you can at least ADD layers. When it's like this there is no relief, it just sucks the life out of you.... Can't wait for cooler weather and no humidity so I can open the windows and air out my house. 2 more weeks until the Bers ... YAY .. I need to go shopping and buy new fall garland for my porch and a new fall wreath for my door. Hope everyone has a great day!

I needed to head downstairs around eight, last evening, to complete my lunch supplies for today, and I had to turn the light on...Then again, the State Fair opens Thursday, so this is hardly a shock...On the plus side, the neighbor's mature tree afternoon shadows haven't made it into our yard, yet. Another three weeks should do the trick. ;)

I tried to log on this morning but the site was down. Not too much going on here today. I ran to the supermarket earlier to pick up a few things and I’ve been working on some chores around the house. My daughter is off today, we just had lunch together and we’re going to take Rocky for a walk soon. I’m going to make tacos for dinner later tonight. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well!

Good Tuesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

It's been super busy this morning, and this is my first chance to check-in. It's been kind of quiet since school started. I've just been riding around with Lulu and lamenting my poor, broken lawn mower LOL. Hopefully, one day this week we'll get it running.

Good news about your FIL; I can understand him worrying about the recovery thing being a trick.
