Anyone else get into fall cleaning rather than spring cleaning? I clean out everything when I get my fall decor out and switch out my wardrobe!

I went to bed at 8:30 and woke up at 4:30 - how's that for catching up a bit on my sleep. I woke up during the night a few times, but was able to get back to sleep fairly quickly.
We need a Santa waking in his bed image for such an occasion.

I've been suffering with a sinus infection on the left side of my face since Monday and it's been off and on since June. When I was at the dentist two weeks ago I asked if the pain in my teeth and jaw could be dental related, the dentist said it wasn't nerve related likely a sinus infection. I try to get through things without meds. I warmed an oatmeal soak that I've used many times on my shoulder and the back of my neck over the years so I put it on my face on Tuesday and every night since to try and ease the pain; especially when my ear started to ache. It didn't do much for the teeth, but the pain in my ear subsided. I did a hot water bowl and towel trick to drain the sinuses because nothing was coming out of my nose (I know eww).

I caved and started taking antibiotics as regular sinus meds weren't helping at all. Finally starting to work. If it doesn't clear up, I'd have to get an diagnostic image done to see if a duct is blocked or damaged. Looks like the antibiotics are working, my teeth aren't hurting nearly as much and I can finally blow my nose.

I was in so much pain that I could hardly think straight and was making errors in posts in the game section and three times during the week I was looking for my sunglasses which were already on my face or in my hand. Geesh.

Hoping I've got this sinus thing turned around and can enjoy the long weekend.

Keep a merry thought in your head and may you never have to endure such intense sinus pain.

Speaking of merry thoughts - I had a pumpkin spiced muffin yesterday. I don't eat cookies, cakes, pies, chocolates or candy, but I had to have one just so I could tell you about it.

It's not even the "bers" yet and coffee retailers are switching their summer flavours out for pumpkin everything.

psst. It's FRIDAY

Hope you are feeling better, Auntie!

Good afternoon everyone and a happy Saturday to one and all. I'm staring a new Job on Monday after 19 years in my previous position. Starting a diet as of now! Jonah has just started his nursery school last week so It's all change for me, but in a good way (except the lack of ice-cream). Just in time for the 'bers. I will be seeing them in with a glass of whiskey at midnight. Well you can't change everything.

Congrats to you and good luck!

Good afternoon all and welcome to the ‘Bers! It’s the best time of the year, as well as my favorite time of year. I love the weather, the smells, the decorations, and the food. Hope you’re all enjoying the weekend and holiday as well!

Thanks to you and the others for caring; the antibiotics are working. My jaw still hurts and my cheek, but not nearly like it was last week; I can tolerate this and not feel like I want to punch somebody.

All day songs about September are running through my head, but this one is truly taking hold - anyone remember it from American Graffiti?

Tomorrow, I'm heading over to my dads and he has some Christmas decorations and other things to part with since he's been decluttering the basement and he could probably park his car in the garage if he wanted to since he had the roof repaired and got rid of a bunch of stuff from there too.

I'm seeing the switchover for Fall décor and I also saw some merry inflatables and small artificial Christmas trees on top shelves getting ready for the next phase.

Walmart had their winter coats, hats, boots, etc. out already and falling prices on summer clothes - we are most definitely in the Bers.

See You In September was sung by The Tempo’s in American Graffiti.

Thank you; Yes, the versions I knew best were the original and the one by Frankie Valie and the Four Seasons.

Good Labor / Labour Day Morning Merry Countdown Greats! :snowy1

Imagine on this second day of September how close we are to that spectacular time of the year. Let's take a look at where we stand...

Days to the Season: 72
Days to Christmas Day: 114

We have waded through 1947 days since the countdown was launched brining us to a mere 14 days before our next Milestone; the 100 day window.

Incredible; that calls for some merry num-nums +j

And a little decorating on the side. :shakeit

It's 15c / 59f this morning and expected to be partly cloudy and overcast most of the day; the 20% call for rain likely will result in a dry day in my merry neck of the woods.

Enjoy your day; Crown will return to countdown duties tomorrow.

Thanks Auntie! Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day MMC! The unofficial end of summer. Well it's been a fun one and I'm a little sad to see it winding down but so excited to now be living in the Bers. And it's a great feeling for sure. Another day off to rest today before the long road begins and I start to appreciate weekends so much during these next few months. Have a great Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy today with chance of a late day thunderstorm, highs near 76 degrees. Not great weather but at least it won’t be a washout. We’re having what will probably be the last big barbecue of the summer. The menu includes marinated flank steaks, chicken kabobs, ribs and sausage & peppers. I made a few salads yesterday so that’s done. We’re going to grill corn on the cob as well. Should be fun. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

DYHWIH- I definitely take the time throughout September to clean all windows inside and out and do some extra dusting in anticipation for putting out my Halloween and eventually Christmas decorations!!! I don't do it all in one session, but usually do a room or two at a time. The years I don't do some fall cleaning it makes it a little less fun on the days I want to focus on decorating. I admit I seem to be able to ignore spots on the windows and some dust on shelves until I am putting up my favorite decorations!!!

Good Labour Day morning! A day off for David and me, and a rainy one. I’ll be walking Loki soon but I’m sure he’ll tug on the leash to turn right back around when he feels this rain. It’s a day to stay inside and knock out a bunch of chores and relax watching movies. Have a great day everyone!
