Today is FIL's birthday. We celebrated last night by eating out, then back to our house for cake & ice cream. FIL decided he wanted to watch old Christmas home movies. A little bit of Christmas for us while I'm still trying to get my fall decor out!

Happy Birthday to your FIL!

Good morning all! Day off today. DH and I plan on doing lots of baking today - I have a few zucchini to use and I am going to make some bread, muffins, and I am going to see what else I get in to with that. Our niece is here today as well. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy First Weekend of the Bers MMC! We made it to the first full weekend of it. I was thinking on Friday how Labor Day Week is really that transition week where we go back to work, school and football. And that kind of starts up this weekend and goes right through our Autumn which is that long road towards Thanksgiving through the Halloween Season and that leads us to the Christmas Season. Just incredible when you think about what it means. I think we need to all take in each day as much as we can and enjoy the ride. Have a great start to your First Weekend of the Bers!
A must, as it speeds by so quickly...and not just for the Merry Community.

The Guthrie is presenting "The Glass Menagerie" over the course of roughly a month September - October. I thought the end date was a bit early until I concluded it would give them less than three weeks to prepare for "A Christmas Carol". *WHEW*+a

Good morning all! I work this weekend. Normally I would be off this weekend, but someone needed be to switch with them, so I work the next two. That’s okay, because as I said before Disney will be here before I know it!

Hope you all enjoy the day! I’ll try to check in tonight!
While we know you are back to your full, vibrant self, please be careful not to overtax your system in the course of daily life. :)

Happy NFL Sunday! We made it back to real football season. Football on Sundays every week now. This makes Sunday more exciting for me and fun. I'm about to make some waffles. Anyone want some? Have a great NFL Sunday!
I had to make due with heated Chunky Monkey Bread, but there's nothing wrong with that on a cool September Sunday.

I awoke at 4:35 to the sound of my husband sobbing on the side of the bed, talking with someone on the phone. All I heard was, "Whaaat? When?" followed by more sobs. I woke up to comfort him and find out what was going on and of course he wasn't there.

O'Malley heard me stirring and came down to ensure I didn't go back to sleep.

Might grab a nap later, but I figured I might as well get up.

Since I saw #1 son and he and the family are fine, I guess I should check in with #2 son today to see how he is doing. We haven't chatted much since Gary passed away. He is a friend of Bill W so I'm wondering if Gary's sobs were an attempt to get me to reach out. I will check in with him later.

Wound up ordering Chinese food for dinner last night. Plenty of leftovers for today and I'm making meatloaf for sandwiches and a few dinners for the first part of the week.

:brr Keep a merry thought in your head :lightman

This strange reality will pass...Rest well.

Thanks for thinking of me! Even though I had to work two weekends in a row, that gave me more days off during the week and then I got two weekends off in a row too since I switched!

We approve of your merry FIL; sounds like my kind of birthday party.

Merry Monday and back to the grind....
Yesterday we had a great day at our friend's house. We watched football and ate way too many snacks...lol
Looks like we are going to have a warm up this week with back to summer temps.
Hope you all have a great day!

And it wasn't even the Super Bowl - hahahoho

Thinking of you, Auntie. Hoping you were able to talk with your son.

Thank you Sugar; I was and all is well. I haven't checked in with my husband's ex-wife and I know she is now receiving home care services; I'll likely save that call for the weekend.

For some reason, I never switched my calendar at work over to September and when I did I realized that Sept. 7th about 6 years into my job, I had to investigate the death of an employee as part of my Health and Safety duties. I'm wondering if that's what was triggered in the dream. I don't think about Ed every September, but maybe seeing roofers busy at work around here crept into my subconscious mind.

Ed had been removing the old air conditioning unit from the roof of our building when he fell coming down the ladder. There were two other maintenance staff present at the foot of the ladder. He never made a sound so they thought it may have been an aneurism, but there was too much damage to indicate that as a cause of death.

Very much could have been. ♥️

Enjoy your time on Jekyll! Did you see the news about that cargo ship capsized off St. Simon's Island?! Crazy!

It's been a few years since I've been to the Brooklet Peanut Festival, but it was always fun. Our band used to play there, too. LOL
Yes. I heard they got the last crew member out this afternoon. Praise God! I hope they can get the mess cleaned up before we head down there. We're planning on spending the night.

Update on progress at "A Christmas To Remember" at Crabtree Valley Mall as seen through the gap in the sight barrier.

Looks like things are really starting to take shape, and hopefully it will be opening its doors by the time "Christmas Blossoms 2019" is ready to launch in approximately two weeks!

-surprise-Good Merry Morning; it's Tuesday, feels like Wednesday.

Up early and the cat didn't wake me; I woke him up. Just couldn't get back to sleep after 3:30 so decided to get up and at it. I was exhausted last night and wound up going to bed at 8:30.

Having steeped tea to warm up; not as cold as it was yesterday, but still chilly; the weather folk are calling for rain today and tomorrow; not so YABBA, but it's not snow so I'll try not to complain about it.

Guess it will help the ground, gardens and leaves.

Although we are North, our city is sort of nestled in a dip and there are mountains and lakes around us so we are often spared from the worst of weather threats so we're lucky in that way.

The map makers and road builders must have gotten together and said, "Let's confuse everyone when we build roads and highways." If you are traveling east from Ottawa and arrive at the intersection, you turn right to go west. When you are coming south from Toronto, you turn right at a different intersection to go North. That doesn't make any sense since in my mind you should simply go straight to continue in the opposite direction. Weird.

This morning I heard Truckin' Around the Christmas Tree playing in my head.
Alex Pangman had cystic fibrosis and wound up having not one, but two double lung transplants and can still belt out jazz and swing tunes with the best of them.

Give her a listen over coffee, hot chocolate, tea while you tour MMC.

Keep a merry thought and song in your head -sing-

P.S. the cat is already back on his bed having a sleep after eating half of his breakfast.
