Good Monday morning! David had a follow-up with his surgeon and he is now ok to work 4 days per week, with more regular and light work added to his list. His doctor is saying that by January he should be back to full-time regular work, as his progress is right on track.

In between some house chores and laundry this morning, I’m watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. They’re playing on the W network here and I recorded a couple so far, with actors that I enjoy most. This really puts me in the Christmas mood.

Hope everyone will enjoy a great start to the week!

Yes, the shows started last week. I grabbed a bit from a few, but never caught a whole movie yet. I watch them more for y'all than I do for myself; most of them start and end the same way.

I spent the weekend about two and a half hours north of home on a senior high retreat, this past weekend. We had raging flurries on and off Friday evening and all day Saturday, but everyone had a great time.

Saturday afternoon was filled with a football tournament, a dodgeball tournament, gopher ball, carpet ball, floor hockey, laser tag, dodge archery, etc. We worked our physical and spiritual muscles.

Wow; I felt a twinge when I got up from a kneeling position tying the laces on my boots. HaHa

Hello all,
I hope you all survived Halloween and now things are ramping up for the holidays. There's already been a Christmas market in the next town over and I'm going to one on the 15, so things are beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Now that Halloween is over, that means there's new stamps for the holidays. Here they are:

They look so festive. The red reindeer is for domestic mail (anywhere in Canada), the blue nutcracker dancers are for the US, and the green partridge is for international. I still have a few left over from last year, but I'm looking forward to getting the new ones soon.

I've also picked up the Christmas Fix It and Forget It cookbook for the slow cooker. It's been out for a few years but there are some great recipes for getting a head start on the holidays. Tonight there's baked pumpkin pie in there for dessert. Can't wait. The house is already filled with the smells of cinnamon and nutmeg.

I've also started binging my Hallmark movies. Three so far, but the season has just started.

Have a great start of the week and I'll drop by soon.

I haven't picked up our holiday stamps yet, but I have a few unique ones like festive treats, bears and the Apollo space stamps.

I think I'm the only weirdo that loves when it gets dark by 5pm. Actually my mom and brother love it too so it must be a family thing! The early nighttime reminds me that the holidays are here. Plus, for as much work as we put into decorating the house with outdoor lights and decorations, it would be sad to only be able to see them from 7or 8 until it got dark every night. At least the way it is now, if you decorate your house outside you can enjoy those lights (and all the neighborhood lights) for hours every night! I'm trying to find the silver lining for everyone who doesn't like the switch! As for me, I think I just find it cozier when it is dark. Like I said, I am a weirdo! :)

Dark nights all the way. Candles and hot chocolate. What's not to like.

Happy Tuesday guys. I am happy that we are now under 50 days to go. I wish i had a happier personal update for you like i normally do. I need to ask a favor. I know that i have only known you guys for a few months now, but today I need to ask you for prayers.

My 6 year old ACD chipped her front tooth a few years back, and we had her looked at by our vet, who said to watch it for any worrying signs / etc.. Flash forward to a month ago, and my wife and I noticed that there is a little soft pink bump right behind the tooth on the top of her mouth. The tooth is also slightly discolored, and is loose. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, she is still playful and she eats all of her food and acts normal. But my wife and I wanted to rule out anything more serious like canine cancer or any of that. So she is going to vet today at 2:30 PM.

I haven't been able to sleep hardly the whole night, and even now my stomach is turning in anxiety, i could barely keep my coffee down. I apologize for putting a downer on the always positive spin on these boards. But i really feel like the more prayers the better. Thank you all for hearing my story, and I really hope that this evening i have a good update for you all.

Your friend,

Mark

Sending positive thoughts your way so that it isn’t anything serious.

Happy Election Day MMC! I say this sometimes but Mondays really do go fast for me. I am always busy on Mondays and the day goes by like a blur. Well I hope today slows down just a little. Right now I keep thinking about these next few weeks and what they lead to. Thanksgiving Week is the best week of the year to me and for it to only be a few weeks away is unreal. Have a great Election Day!

Good Tuesday morning! We’ll have rain all day here, with possibly a little snow on Thursday. I’m getting our Winter tires installed on Friday, so I’m hoping for only rain until then. Today will be about more chores and Hallmark Christmas movies. Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day ahead!

Hoping your pooch will be okay and the Vet can fix her up.
My posts aren't always jolly; they express my thoughts and that's what we do with family; MMC is another kind of family.

Good Morning - not much time to post today.

The cat was fighting with me to get up since 3:15 and was so persistent. I kept ignoring him, I fired off some water shots from the spray bottle and he stopped meowing, but then started thumping his tail hard on the carpet and when that didn't work, he started banging it on the door frame. Then I heard him in the room and could not make out the sound of what he was doing, but the negative attention seeking behaviour worked.

In the end it was some leg pain mixed with catitude that got me up at 4:30. Now I'm up and O'Malley is back on his bed.

It's a rainy day here.

I have a meeting after work so I'll catch up tomorrow morning and join you at the Pines.

Stay Jolly! +c

Now that's a great way to find that silver lining!

I hope it's nothing too serious!

Good Tuesday Morning, Relentless Pursuers!
Yes, Folks. We relentlessly pursue Christmas and its Wonderful Season year long.
And the pursuit is beginning now to draw to a close as the latest figures bear out.

Days to the Season: 8 (ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 23 (Three weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 50 (Seven weeks from tomorrow!)
The gap narrows by the day!

Coolish yesterday, but about right for raking and leaf blowing. (And our trees are providing me ample opportunity for both.)
Should be fairly nice until the weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 60's, but then we are are looking at subfreezing over night lows with highs in the 40's by the middle of next week.
Presently, our day is commencing here in central NC at 52 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, One and All!
