Hello all.
Boy was today a long day at school. No particular reason, just felt like a long day.
This evening will be fun though. Henry and I are going to go Christmas shopping so he can get mom a couple of things. He is excited to go shopping for her. He really enjoys trying to find gifts for people.

Well, about time for a quick dinner and then off to shopping we go!
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

This afternoon I took my brother and his wife to Bonefish Grill, their favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, their two adult daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren won't be coming for Christmas. This is the first full year they've lived in Florida.

This coming Monday I have surgery on my right eye (lens implant), then in two weeks my left eye. Because of pre-existing conditions, I won't be doing a traditional Christmas dinner. I was so sure one of their daughters would be coming down. I invited them over Thursday to see my decorations and we plan to go to a movie as soon as the first surgery is done.....if my vision is OK.

Tomorrow, I'm getting the condo cleaned so today I washed all the bedding and Ace's THREE beds, along with two full loads of clothes. I'll probably wake up before the cleaning service comes and make a quick trip to the grocery store to stock up on fruit, veggies, and other things I'll need for the coming week.

I also thought I might order an organic ham so after signing off I'll search the Internet. My brother loves ham and it would be good to have it near Christmas.

The mail was a bit eerie today. I got replies from a relative and a friend that I had sent Christmas cards to; both notes announced that the intended recipient had passed away. So sad to have two such notes in the same mail. One was a cousin, and one was a friend we knew through our friend Gloria (whom we lost last year).

So sorry to hear this. It must have been very shocking to see two on the same day.

If you're referring to cataract surgery it's a breeze. The easiest surgeries I have had. After the surgeries I don't really need to wear glasses except for reading.

Good Morning MMC !

I used to answer that the worse job I had to do was the bathroom, now I realize it is the oven, which I have to finish off yet this morning. Next stove is going to have a self-cleaning oven!

It has been wet here as well, but we are now under a snow squall watch so that is going to change. My son put silicone spray on the van doors in hopes that they will not freeze shut again when it goes back to being cold.

Still have some baking to do for an order to be picked up on the 20th. 2 more Christmas parties to attend, so much fun! Christmas day with family. We no longer do a big turkey dinner, just put out all kinds of goodies and everyone grazes all day. This way no one is stuck in the kitchen while everyone else is having fun.

A few cards to mail yet, but mostly done. I don't have to be into work until 11:30, so hoping to get these things done before I leave.

Hope you all have a fantastically wonderful day ! and those not well get feeling better quickly

We used to have Tourtiere before the Christmas Eve guests arrived, but once my parents moved into the tri-plex they bought, that changed to a variety of Hors d'oeuvres, nuts and bolts, and sweets on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day, we'd have out turkey dinner sometimes with a pasta dish or pickerel with mostly just family and sometimes we'd add a few guests to that list who didn't have anyone to celebrate with so they'd get to enjoy a lovely feast and fellowship.

I don't care for oven or fridge cleaning; at least the fridge self-defrosts.

Dad always makes "Save the Day" brunch that we have after we take a look through our stockings and open our gifts.

This Christmas morning coming; it will just be me enjoying the brunch with my dad.

Keep a merry food thought in your head +j

It’s so nice all the things you do for others, Auntie. Just remember to yes, continue to take care of yourself too, friend. I hope you soon start feeling well. Prayers for you!

Thank you; I recall my financial struggles in College so I feel like it's important to give to others so they don't feel the strain.

Not sure how I keep getting through work with this thing. The coughing fits are scarier for the people around me.

I can't let it slow me down or it will only get worse. We have our work holiday social on Friday and I plan on being there. Although my voice sounds like I swallowed a bunch of stones, my throat doesn't hurt so that's a bonus.

Have my merry outfit already picked out. Plus I'm getting my 30-year service recognition.

The 10.5 hours yesterday was a struggle, but I got through it and went to bed at 9:00.

Only woke up three times during the night with coughing fits.

I won't let it spoil my jolliness. +i

That happened to me once with my friends parents; they invited me to Thanksgiving dinner once when I was living in Toronto and they lived in Kitchener. After that I kept them on my Christmas card list. They weren't relatives, but I was pleased that one of the daughters (not my friend) took the time to let me know they had both passed away.

The connection to Gloria must have felt like you lost her twice.

Happy Wednesday / Pines / Hump Day! -tree-

Wow was it every slippery yesterday; I nearly slid into a city bus. I gave myself time to ease into my stop, the slippery warning sign came on my screen; I had to push really hard on the break and almost threw the park on - whew. Two inches from the back of the bus, I bet the driver was as nervous as I was at that moment. If I didn't have the winter tires, I surely would have hit the bus. My heart was racing.

We had milder weather the last week and then after the rain everything froze and their was a light dusting of snow overnight. My doors were frozen; I got in from the front side passenger door.

I bought some car medicine for my doors, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to fire off so I hope I can get in today with more ease and then I'll ask someone how to make the trigger work. Should be simple enough; just twist the nozzle and squirt.

Another long day for me and more snow; currently -13.

See you at the Pines tonight. -surprise-

I'm so glad you didn't collide with that bus. Stay warm my friend.

Merry Wednesday and Happy Pines Day!
The weather has done gone crazy. Mid 70's yesterday and now mid 50's today.
I'd rather have some Christmasy snow. Only four more days to work this year including today. I'm so excited for Christmas break at work. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Merry Pines Day!! We woke up to about 4 inches of snow and the kids are off from school. So everyone is sleeping and I am going through emails and having some coffee. I think the starter went on my car so we are having that towed today. My oldest daughter isn't back to driving yet so I can use her car for the time being. I am sure it will be a hefty bill!
Hope you all have a great day!
