Merry Christmas everyone!

Santa arrived last night and filled the stockings and left quite the bounty under the tree.
We had a wonderful time opening gifts this morning, watching Christmas Vacation, eating donuts, and breakfast casserole. Now it is time to rest and review the presents. Shortly it will be time to start the turkey for Christmas dinner; Christmas with my dad, his wife, and her mother tonight.

I hope everyone has a the best Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!

And thus, I begin my weekly break from countdowning!
(Ah. Just think of the sleep!!)
But, not to worry. I will be in and out and planning the launch of Christmas Countdown 2020! That will be a leap year, meaning one more day to count before the Season and Christmas!
Thanks Crown! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas MMC! Well it's the big day. I can't believe it. It's here. And as usual Christmas proved to me why it's still #1. There is nothing that beats Christmas Eve Evening. I went for my traditional walk and as usual everything hit me. And we had the most awesome dinner together with family and opened some presents. Now on to the "main event" of presents this morning. Merry Christmas!

Good morning all and Merry Christmas! Wow - what a morning it's been here and truly, what a several days it's been. DD has had the flu (influenza). That's one of the main reasons I haven't been checking in. She has had the flu shot, but unfortunately we've found already that the shot isn't being very effective and we've had a lot of positive swabs. She was around someone last weekend who was positive and then got it. She had fever for almost 6 days, but now is finally on the mend. We had to reschedule DH's family Christmas, not do our normal Christmas Eve outings, and not attend mass as well, but today has been so far so good. I feel bad for her - she was sad about it, but I reminded her it was for everyone safety and to make sure no one else got sick.

I hope you're all well and are enjoying time with your family! I wish you all a blessed holiday and Merry Christmas! I am so blessed beyond words, am thankful for a beautiful family, and health. Jesus is the reason for the season. DH is working until later today, until my family comes, so I'm sure I'll be checking in. The kids and I are just hanging out right now and watching Christmas movies.

Hope your daughter is better soon and hope no one else gets it!

Have a wonderful time with the family today. I hope DD will quickly mend and be able to enjoy the remainder of the Christmas break.

A lot of the districts here supply the kids with laptops or IPads now. So the state has allowed them to make snow days E Learning days instead of making the kids make them up. The teachers just load assignments on to the digital classroom for the kids to do at home. If a kid doesn’t have internet at home, they get a week to finish the work in printed form afterwards. The library at my nieces school even has 10 mobile hot spots that the kids can check out and take home with them if they don’t have internet.

So it really kinda surprises me sometimes that they don’t cancel more often.

That's so nice they do that there! Our district doesn't do that and once they get to the junior high here, I'm pretty sure they're all on iPads too. That's a great idea.

I thought I was finished everything; then remembered to pick up a gift for my husband's ex-wife. She's not doing too well; early stages of dementia and she wound up in the hospital before Thanksgiving because she stopped taking all of her medication. So she's settling into a new independent living community, where someone will ensure she's taking her meds and eating properly.

I might see her over the holidays if time permits; maybe the boys will invite her for dinner while I'm in town. It's nice that we get along.

You have such a wonderful heart, Auntie.

Hi everyone! Went back to the doctor today as I am still sick and very run down from all of this coughing (it started 12/05. Pretty much took my whole month of December from me!) I am still on an antibiotic but Dr. believes we have killed all infection and the rest is just viral. But, due to my other health issues, she wants me to do a round of steroids. I HATE steroids. But I understand why she wants me to have them and I will take them as I am told. The only benefit from them is they give me energy which I can definitely use since I have been so tired and run down this month. I am behind on everything! And, it means I can definitely go to the Nutcracker Ballet this week as planned with my husband which is one of my favorite parts of Christmas! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Wednesday! See you all at the Pines!

Praying that you're on the mend.

60 degrees on Christmas Day in Indiana. It feels more like Easter out there. I remember it was pretty warm in 1993 when I got my first BB gun. I was outside all afternoon shooting coke cans but I still had to have a jacket on.
