Everyone is still asleep so I am enjoying some coffee and a Christmas movie.

Hope you all enjoy the day!

And an extra special day in your merry house.

Happy Birthday to your daughter :owl Merry Christmas too!:bundleup

Good morning all and Merry Christmas! Wow - what a morning it's been here and truly, what a several days it's been. DD has had the flu (influenza). That's one of the main reasons I haven't been checking in. She has had the flu shot, but unfortunately we've found already that the shot isn't being very effective and we've had a lot of positive swabs. She was around someone last weekend who was positive and then got it. She had fever for almost 6 days, but now is finally on the mend. We had to reschedule DH's family Christmas, not do our normal Christmas Eve outings, and not attend mass as well, but today has been so far so good. I feel bad for her - she was sad about it, but I reminded her it was for everyone safety and to make sure no one else got sick.

I hope you're all well and are enjoying time with your family! I wish you all a blessed holiday and Merry Christmas! I am so blessed beyond words, am thankful for a beautiful family, and health. Jesus is the reason for the season. DH is working until later today, until my family comes, so I'm sure I'll be checking in. The kids and I are just hanging out right now and watching Christmas movies.

That's so unfortunate that your plans fell through and that your daughter has been ill; make the best of your time together and stay jolly!

I've been taking it easy with O'Malley all day and watching a few animated specials, Christmas films and far too many HOUSE episodes.

Getting ready for Die Hard with a Vengeance; saw Die Hard last weekend - it's on three different networks. I didn't care much for the second one.

#1 son sent me a text last night showing me the inside of the card that I affixed to the large tin of Christmas cookies for the local paramedics. Apparently the sentiments went viral among both cities and as one person sent it to a few, others passed it along and it reached my son. He recognized the penmanship - haha, but I also signed it. Usually, I just use my first name, sometimes both and this year I used my full name. After I drop thank you treats off to various EMS teams and other places, I never know who reads the cards or enjoys the treats. It's nice to know that the note of appreciation meant more than the treats.

I'll be seeing him and the rest of the family on Friday and my other brother (the black sheep) on Saturday. My brother reached out to me with a private message on Facebook this morning, first time in years he contacted me, usually it's me keeping in touch. He doesn't know I have a gift for him. I couldn't help myself.

I am hoping to give my car a present in the morning and finally get it through the car wash. It's so filthy, I couldn't recognize it the last two times I was out shopping. I tried five times in the last two days, but the line ups were far too long; 12-14 cars would take a good hour to get through.

I know it's only going to get dirty when I hit the HWY, but I have to see the shining black beauty again.

Enjoy the rest of your Christmas Day - Night festivities. -surprise-

As Christmas Day starts to wind down, the planning for the after Christmas sales tomorrow starts to ramp up. I’ll probably be at Walmart when they open at 6. They are sold out of most of the stuff that I was hoping to get but there were still a few signs that I liked. Then it’ll be off to Meijer to see what they have left followed by CVS and Dollar General looking for 12” or smaller Santa’s.

I bought a lot before Christmas so I’m going to try and control myself. I need to remember that I have to store all this stuff somewhere. Lol!!

60 degrees on Christmas Day in Indiana. It feels more like Easter out there. I remember it was pretty warm in 1993 when I got my first BB gun. I was outside all afternoon shooting coke cans but I still had to have a jacket on.

It was 60 here in Ohio today too. Very strange to walk outside in a short sleeve shirt. It reminded my of when I was in the Army down in Georgia for Christmas in 2002. Actually, I think it was warmer today.

We just finished dinner and visiting with my dad, his wife, and her mother. We made a nice Christmas dinner and did presents, and were able to visit for a couple of hours. Now time to wind down for the evening. Somehow, the house is still in generally good order.

Tomorrow is the last Christmas of the season. We will go down to my wife's sisters to have Christmas with them and my father-in-law. While it will be a joyous time, there will be the sadness that my mother-in-law is not with us. My father-in-law is still dealing with a lot of back pain and issues with his cancer. Still, the Christmas spirit will be alive and well and we will have a wonderful time being able to spend Christmas together.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day!
The magic of Christmas is hard to explain, it is simply experienced. For those of us here, we understand that and make a point of living that spirit throughout the year. It is always my hope that we, as a community of Christmas lovers, can help others appreciate the magic of this wonderful day.

I loved House. I watched every episode twice and some three times.
I never get tired of reading your posts. We need more people in the world like our AuntieMistletoeDear!

My car needs a bath, too. We've had some rainy days so I'll wait until the weekend. I like to get to the wash as soon as it opens to avoid lines.

What a beautiful two days....

Christmas was all I remembered it to be.

Santa came to see us, we got to spend time with our family, and we ate way too much. It was perfect.

I'm exhausted. I'm going to spend time tomorrow thinking about what could have been different and what could have been better and write it down somewhere.

I loved reading about everybody's Christmas. Sounds like we all had a magical day.

Off to be I go....

Merry Christmas, friends!

Had a nice relaxing Christmas Day. Spent time relaxing with my mom and husband, had honey baked ham, smoked turkey, scalloped potatoes, and stuffed manicotti with meat sauce for dinner, and then went to my brother's house. We brought over cheese and crackers, shrimp, 4 different kinds of homemade fudge, 3 different kinds of cookies, sea salt almond clusters, toffee crackers, cake mix bars, and pop. I enjoyed watching my nieces and nephews open their presents (age 26, 15, 8, and almost 4.) Then we taught the 15 year old our family tradition of playing cards. This is the first time he played with us and he caught on well and did great. Now I am back at home resting. I wore myself out the last two days and I am almost done with the round of steroids the doctor put me on. I have had more energy and less pain than usual because of the pills and I am coming to the end of them so my body is feeling the hurt again! But, it sure did help me out through the last few days of celebrating! My mom and I will hit some shops tomorrow but we decided to let ourselves sleep in instead of getting up early. All in all, it was a very nice Christmas. And it isn't over, as I will see my sister's family this weekend as well as my aunt and uncle and one of my closest friends. I will really enjoy that. I hope everyone has a great and safe day!

When new staff are being introduced to me; quite often I hear, "And this is Shawna; she's a big Christmas nut. If you aren't, she'll rub off on you." Or something along those lines which I wear like a merry badge of honour.

"The joy of brightening others lives, bearing each others' burdens, easing others' loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of the holidays." William Carey Jones

At MMC, we continue with that and hope the rest of the world will feel the hope and fellowship and merriment throughout the year. The Christmas spirit resides in us.

And just like that...it's over. Well, I know some of us stretch it out. We try to do the same, also. However, it is just different after the big day passes.

Goodness, have I got a mess. Cleaning, decluttering, and cooking are on today's agenda. Over the next few days, I plan on watching every Star Wars and football game that comes on!

Good Morning folks.
Feels funny not to be posting the count, but relaxing, too!

I hope everyone is still continuing to enjoy Christmas Season 2019.
Both of my nieces are visiting my sister and me along with my 10-month-old great nephew. He's lots of fum but quite demanding!

Yes, I'm feeling that, too. Today I should update Christmas notes and records to start looking toward next Christmas.

Good morning MMC-
We had a great Christmas, lounged around the house until 2:30 or so and headed over to my MIL's for more gifts and dinner. Also, celebrated my daughter's b-day with an ice cream cake.
We don't have too much planned for today. My car is getting some work done today and my daughters want to go to the mall with a couple of friends, of course they have some gift cards burning a hole in their pockets...lol
So my husband and I may take them and grab dinner while they shop.
Hope you all have a great day!!
