I hope you all had a very Merry, blessed Christmas! Ours was nice, it was just a strange year not having our normal Christmas Eve party!

Only 364 Days To Go!!

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for my brother Ralph. He passed away this morning. I don't remember if I told you, but this site meant a lot to him and all of you were in his prayers. Again, thank you so much!

i am so sorry for your loss Meceka! Thoughts and prayers to you and your family!

Two years ago, my mom exited this world (stage right) in her home with my dad and myself present. My brother had just left the day before. She had kept her positive attitude and sense of humour since her stroke 11 years previous, but the last two years, she was losing so much energy. She gave us one last Christmas and tons of memories.

Dr. Seuss says, "Don't cry because it' over; smile because it happened." Some days it seems like she's been gone for ten years and other times it seems more recent. My dad and I were talking about her last Christmas yesterday when I was visiting. He finally realized how similar our caregiving lives were and felt bad that my husband wouldn't let me share how ill he was so my dad could have helped out more and so he could understand why he wasn't coming around as much as he used to or that I couldn't visit for long. Until that last day when I was there for ten hours. I am so glad that I realized that she was close to the end and stayed with my dad. I would not have wanted him to go through that alone.

Today, I am off to Ottawa for two days to visit the boys and their famiies, my other brother will stop by to visit - maybe join us for dinner.

I'm hoping to make this day a special one.

Sharing one of her favourite artists from the 70's. She introduced me to some great music over the years.

Thinking of you! Safe travels!

Hi everyone,

I didn’t have a change to wish everyone a merry Christmas on the big day, but I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. I just can’t believe it flew by so fast.
I’m off work till the end of next week, so I’ll probably have time to sneak in a Christmas movie or two, just to keep the post Christmas blues away.

Have a great day!

Good Morning .. I spent most of the day yesterday in bed. I think I over did the past couple weeks and it all caught yup to me. Did manage to get to Walmart and picked up some new Christmas decorations for next year.We will go back tonight plus stopping at a couple other stores. I think next year we are going to simplify Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners ... buffet style. Well need tp get things cleaned up here. We are hosting a Christmas Breakfast tomorrow morning with extended family. Have a great day!

Merry Friday!!
I am just enjoying some coffee and going through emails.
We have a Christmas party tomorrow night and looking forward to relaxing on Sunday. I am working Monday but then off until 1/2. I am looking forward to it!
Hope you all have a great day!

I know I am behind, but I am getting caught up! Hope you're enjoying your time off, SFM!

Good Morning.
One of the things about the post-Christmas / pre-New Years Season I like is the fact that nearly everyone keeps their decorations up. Really keeps the spirit alive on to January.
I enjoy my neighborhood walks a lot more when I can still see the Christmas lights and ornaments!
Then, during January, I watch to see which house is the last to take theirs down.
Adds a fun dimension.

The grocery shopping is done and I can now enjoy the rest of the season.

We will probably do Christmas with my nieces tomorrow and then Mom’s birthday is Sunday. I might do some baking this weekend too.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Happy Belated Birthday to your mom!

Hope everyone is doing well. Last night was the Nutcracker Ballet for me and my husband which some of you know is one of my favorite traditions. Even though we are both still battling these lingering coughs we were not going to give up seeing the ballet. During the second act my husband said he had a headache and said he needed to walk a bit. I let him out and sat back down to watch. Minutes later, the usher is getting me. Apparently as my husband was walking up the center aisle he passed out and hit his face on the arm of the chair. I went running (as fast as I can with my cane!) there and he was face down with a bunch of people around him. When they turned him over all I saw was blood and I freaked out. They took us both by ambulance to hospital and he had bit almost completely through his bottom lip, so 6 stitches were needed. He has a black eye and various cuts and abrasions on his face. All scans and tests came back clear so they think maybe he got overheated and his blood pressure dropped. It was so scary. We didn't get out of the hospital till after midnight and then realized our car was still at the ballet so we had to wait for a cab and it was a big mess. While sitting in the ER waiting on him I realized all the stress of trying to create the perfect Christmas and buy the perfect gifts and bake the perfect stuff doesn't mean very much. All I cared about in that moment was brining him home and I have been glued to his side today. Last night made realize that saying is so true, "t is not what is under the tree it is who is around it." Other than being very sore and swollen he is doing ok. I am so grateful. I hope everyone has a great and safe evening!

Hope he is continuing to do okay now! Prayers for you guys, sugarmuffin.

Well, I just put some meat on the grill and I will take it off tomorrow at 4:00. Filled the pellet box up and should be good until the morning. I will check it at midnight, then I will check it at 4:30 or 5:00 when I put some more meat on.

Christmas vacation from school has started and Christmas Vacation is on TV. I have no work until Jan. 2. We are going to eat and hang out tomorrow while i get some food ready for us to eat on over the next few days. Can't wait for tomorrow...

Hope you're enjoying your time off, Coach!

For those who asked me a few days ago about the cubicle decoration contest that i participated in at my work, I won most creative, and got a 25 dollar visa gift card!

I really wasn't expecting to win anything, so i was really caught off guard when they announced me at the luncheon on Friday! Happy Saturday folks!

Congrats to you!

Our house will start filling up tomorrow and stay that way through New Years. Family and friends galore. I spent most of today lounging around the house and enjoying the peace and quiet because it will be early January before I get to do that again.

That sounds so wonderful! Enjoy the time with them!

It has been sad to see the displays getting thinner and thinner.

I think the stores have taken the stand lately that it’s better to sale everything out before hand than it is to clearance it out afterwards. So they are just simply not restocking their displays. Once they are out of something, that’s it. Walmart has definitely taken this approach the last few years and I’ve noticed even Dollar Tree this year hasn’t restocked anything. Michael’s is another.

I know when I went to DG on Christmas Eve after work, to pick-up something at the last minute that I realized I needed, they already had a bunch of stuff in their clearance bin at the front of the store. That hit me in the gut pretty hard.

Blessings, peace, and healing for everyone in Ralph's orbit as you celebrate his life.

Target ran out of Life Saver Storybooks the week of December 8th without restocking...

Friend, I'm so sorry. My heart hurts for you. I know that I have no words....but I you and your family have my love and prayers.

Happy Final Friday of the Year MMC! It's amazing that I can say for the final time in 2019 TGIF! I am working today. I am working Monday too but then New Years Eve I'm off and New Years Day. It really is kind of weird when it falls on Wednesdays. Not that it's bad it's just a little more challenging. We won't have to worry about that in 2020. Have a great Final Friday of the Year!
Good to see you got the e - mail! You're sharing the same schedule my brilliant bride and I are working.-santa-

Happy Christmas Eve Eve, MMC!!! How can we be this close already?? Mom has a pretty nasty cold so I might take her to the walk in clinic later today to make sure it hasn’t turned into bronchitis. She can’t afford to let it linger when she has surgery scheduled in 3 weeks. I need to run and get my aunts dog Ella some more treats for her stocking too. I took her to see Santa at Petsmart yesterday. She was not excited about all of the big dogs that were there. Other than that, it’ll be a lot of Kringle radio and some Hallmark while starting to prep Christmas dinner. I hope everyone has a great day!!!!!

Praying for your mom and that she is soon feeling better!
