You know what I don't like about being on vacation. I tend to lose all track of time. For instance, I was expecting Santa to visit tonight, but alas I'm a day behind or 152 days early - depends on how you look at it.

I wore my reindeer and Christmas tree nightshirt with red background. The antlers on every reindeer and five ornaments on each tree glow in the dark. I didn't know that until the wee hours of the morning. Cool!

I think Santa gave it to me last year, but it was a little snug. Fits just right now.

I fixed up the master bedroom and my little Christmas corner looks nice. I drank my coffee this morning out of a reindeer skating themed mug. Holds more coffee than my usual cup, but the handle is still thin - I don't like heavy handles - slows down the sipping process.

I hope to get a wee bit of shopping done tomorrow.

Song for the day . . . Deck the Halls by: Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra!

Someone pass the turkey, please!

My husband thoughtfully reminded me last night that, "its only five months til Christmas!". Bless him. As if I'd forgotten!

What'd he think the festive meal was for yesterday and the Christmas dvds out all over the coffee table?

Auntie your nightshirt and Christmas corner sound great! What's in the corner, if I may be so bold as to enquire?

Can this thread be made into a 'sticky' so its at the top? Or do you guys around these parts not do stickies?

Wont be long until the Christmas season is in double figures! Wooooo!!

Consider yerselves stuck.

Actually, I was watching to see if you guys posted enough in this thread to keep it up at the top. Or do you guys not do that?

Hehe-

Jeff

Well everyone, we are heading into the last weekend of July 2007......August will be here with autumn not far behind...bringing us closer to the season and the day...have a great day everyone!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Hello, folks!
I'm both sad and happy as I'm sure the rest of the TXP people are.

I posted in the special introduction thread Jayish was kind enough to start for me. (Wow, what a welcome! I feel special!)

As I stated there, the timing is really bad as we are just leaving on our annual trip to Florida to visit relatives for a week. Will have to wait until I get back to familiarize myself with this site and how it works.

Binger, you will be happy to know I found my way here by following the coffee trail you left for me. Wonderful aroma to pursue to this nice place.
(I still don't drink the stuff, of course!)

Ah, poor Carl! He's devastated again! Locked himself in the barn and won't come out. Two homes gone just like that. He keeps saying "Woe is me. What's the use?"
Oh, well, I'm sure he will come around again at some point and get to know the nice people new people here. (And maybe do some visiting!)

Good morning everyone !!

Crowns here, Woooohooo!

It's 0004hrs here in Chicago. And that's time for some music (a nice back ground for reading the posts.

My suggested song for today: Tingstad & Rumbel - The Gift - 12 - The Coventry Carol.

Today is my friday, tomorrow is my day off for this week. Mrs. Eagle and I haven't figured out what we are going to do. Maybe go looking around in Indiana, maybe go to the mall ( maybe start Christmas shopping, it's never too early you know! ).

Just a thought (which I don't do very often) :
This guy goes into a restaurant for a Christmas breakfast while in his home town for the holidays. After looking over the menu he says, "I'll just have the eggs Benedict." His order comes a while later and it's served on a big, shiny hubcap.

He asks the waiter, "What's with the hubcap?"

The waiter sings, "O, there's no plate like chrome for the hollandaise!"

On that high note, it's time for me to turn in.

Stay safe - stay cool.

PS - The nice thing about a new forum is that my old stories are new again. Cool !!!

Quick in and quick out. Gosh, where has the day gone? OH yeah, I was doing a little bit of work on my Christmas book, etc.

Fill you in on the Christmas corner on my next visit (I lack the time for a short post)

Crown - I got goosebumps seeing you post here. Cool!

IE - It's always great to see that steadfast Eagle soaring nearby!

:rudolph: Enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Eat turkey! Eat vegies! Drink cocoa! Slip into your Santa beard (if you have one) don your Whoville hat or whatever thrills you, but keep the spirit alive and well!

:hello: Catch y'all tomorrow! Sweet Christmas dreams!

Another day down, and another day closer to Christmas! Well everyday I drive to work I get to drive by a Christmas tree farm on the way, its amazing how beautiful they look, and its a shame that Im the only one who notices them around here this time of year out here.
Have a good rest of the weekend and take some time out to relax!

Time to decorate is getting so close. Bought lots of Hallmark ornaments at their Ornament Premiere on July 14th and yesterday I was in a Hallmark buying cards and they had some Halloween stuff already out. I love it.

Hugs,
Keepsake

Doesn't QVC do the same show each 25th of the month now till Christmas?

Hey Crown.. glad you followed the coffee trail! maybe tomorrow afternoon after you wake up you can tell everyone how we meet here in real time once a year to count down the last few minutes. Make plans now!

Good morning Everyone!

It's my day off ! Wooooohhoooo!

Well, this has to be short. Mrs. Eagle and I are going to Indiana today (looking for property). Retirement is coming.

Song for today?? Of course I have one.
Suggested song, if you like piano, is: Danny Wright - Just Wright - Silver Bells.

Later . . . .

Stay safe - stay cool.

:tree: Okay so picture it . . . On a round table next to the long dresser there is a festive tablecloth resembling a Christmas quilt with reindeer prancing, snowflakes and pine trees with clumps of snow and yes, cardinals and holly too. Leaning on one wall (record enthusiasts skip this line) is the story and soundtrack album from the movie (Rankin and Bass) T'was the Night Before Christmas. Leaning against another wall is my Charles Dicken's book (consisting of four popular stories including of course A Christmas Carol) and in front of it is the smaller book the Christmas Box and there are two tiny snowmen figurines with deer nestled around them, there's a fabric Angel and a Fabric Santa and a wooden Elf holding a tiny puppet in his wooden hand. There's Chrsitmas scented potpourri in a heart-shaped holder (made for a candle) and hanging from a post on the long mirror is a Santa pouch containing more potpourri and on the other post my Whoville hat. There's a festive cookie tin in red with gold snowflakes and resting on top are two candy cane tea light holders (made from molded iron) and the Globe of the world so I can remember all the places Santa likes to visit. There's also a small plate with artificial snow scattered about with a little glitter and in the centre is an apple and cinnamon scented candle (ummm -smells like apple pie) and last, but not least - hanging from the ceiling (where a plant should be), there's a painted flat sleigh with a caricature of Father Christmas (my dad made it). A wee bit of Christmas still present and accounted for at Auntie's place.

:carve:
here ya go!!!

Thanks, that was delicious! More mashed potatoes with creamy butter, please!

I hope to get a wee bit of shopping done tomorrow.

Well that didn't happen. I guess I'll go shopping next weekend instead.

I sure hope Carl the camel cheers up soon. It's terribly depressing when he can't be his old "gettin' into trouble" self. Tell him that many of his friends are here and he doesn't have to be shy. I don't think anyone here will even mention the that he's an imaginary camel who travels to visit jolly members all year.

Tell him it's safe!

I forgot about the final countdown that folks did both on the eve before "The Season" (November 13) and then again on Christmas Eve...I've never been able to take part in them but I've always enjoyed reading them...There is talk of us hosting Christmas Eve this year...Maybe I can sneak away!!1
