It's....F-R-I-D-A-Y!!! Let's all jump in Bing's Comet and cruise down highway 61..YEAH!!! Are you ready to skip work Crown?

C'mon Crown, let's GO! You can bring your pillow, just get in the car!... Ready Jay?.. Bing, here's your thermos.

Renn, a girl after my own heart...throw caution to the wind, walk that magnicent coast line of Oregon. The Pacific....wild and blue, as beautiful as Lake Michigan...(now is the time to go there, I'll have the beach to myself!) Hope you come up with some good ideas for Christmas!

I got up at 5 today, alittle early for me but I couldn't sleep knowing there was a brand new day waiting!!
ENJOY your day my Christmas Nutter Butters, enjoy every second!

Thanks for the welcome Casey! And yes, where WOULD we be without the infamous Crown Countdown, staring Bing?

And speaking of the countdown:

60 days to the Season
102 days to Christmas Day.
(Look at that 100-day window come!)

Hey, Binger! Speaking of cars, do you remember the Nash?
It had seats that folded down into a bed. Now THERE was a car!

Well, it was back in the 90's again yesterday despite the weather service promise of cooler weather. Oh, well, let's try again today.
There is also much-needed rain in the forcast.
And another tropical storm has sprung up in the Atlantic: "Ingrid".

Have a Fabulous Friday and a Wonderful Weekend, guys!
And keep the message of Christmas with you.

Good Day everyone! Christmas draws ever nearer. The supermarkets here in England are starting to put their christmas stock on display - Sainsbury's have mince pies, christmas cake, stollen and advent calenders for sale!

Including today------ONLY....................24 days till the home stretch begins!!!!!!!!!! I can almost feel Christmas

Its Friday and everyone here seems to be in a festive mood!! We are recieving some much needed rain here in Bama and it made me feel like getting started on something for Christmas! So I finished my first stitchery of the season this morning....got it all primmed up and framed !!! I made it for my boys as a little remider .....It says ..Be Naughty.....it makes my job alot easier! and theres a picture of Santa.....maybe that'll keep them in line!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend as we go into the double didgets! Roll Tide!

I am in a FESTIVE MMood for sure.. hey- wonder what Is hould do to celebrate hmmm-w hat could I go and get to make me EXTRA happy.. hmmm an y ideas? Jay? Crown? Cedar? Renn? any suggestions???

Crown_ I always figured you as a Winnebago type person- reclining seats- full bed- you know... luxury.... me- I'm a 61 Comet kinda person ( gender neutral.. gotta be careful...)- Ohhhhhhhh get back behind your wheel of a 61 Comet..... Hey Good lookin whatcha got
cooking...........

When I retire I wanna do that Winnebago thing...Travel all around the country for a year or two...Drink coffee...Take naps...visit Cedar on the farm...Celebrate Christmas in some place other than home...Hope my wife wants to come too...hmm...or do I...I'M KIDDING!!! OF COURSE I WANT HER TO COME...

Having my afternoon vat of Folgers...Man I had a crush on that lady...Mrs. Folgers...Remember her??? Oh well...To each, his own...Or in the case of Crown and Binger, to each their own...Being that we must remain gender neutral...

And speaking of camels, does Carl have a brother named Joe who has a nasty smokers hack? And another thing...if he comes and stays with you do you get to pick and choose who he spits at? Cause I got a neighbor that's...well...nevermind...

Didja ever wonder why we park on driveways and drive on parkways?

Cedar??? Come in Cedar! Over...Breaker one-nine for the Cedar girl, come on? Big Ben this here's the rubber duck and we just ainta gonna pay no toll...So we crashed the gate doin' ninety-eight, I said let them truckers roll, ten-four...

I think Carl has a cousin named "Joe" but he doesn't talk about him much.

And, yes, I liked Mrs. Folgers too.
(even though I did not like what she sold)

Speaking of that, how many dare show their age by also remembering Madge ("You're soaking in it") from the Palmolive ads?

How about Josephine the plumber? Or Rosie, the diner waitress? Madge...I remember her well...Relax! It's Palmolive!

I used a Captain Kangaroo reference with my niece the other day...She looked at me like I was...well...a grown-up...I hate that!

Oh I am getting so antsy for the Season to start. I get to enjoy it all every bit of it, even Black friday which I normally don't partake in. As of Sept 30th Im free, away from Penneys. Yippee.
Oh boy are you telling tales out of school now. Telling everyone our ages. I remember all those well, Rosie, Madge, Josephine and esp Captain Kangaroo. We also had a Captain Shipwreck over on the coast about the same time. Wow the memories.
One of my favorites was the Maxwell house percolator. Miss that one.
Oh Jay, I wouldn't worry about that look, she was just a little worried that one day just maybe you would grow up, but alas we know you well. The answer is NEVER. Or should I say the answer is "Blowing in the Wind".

Coffee trivia: Which coffee brand used the slogan "The Coffee that's Powerful, Powerful, Powerful Good!"
(You better answer quick before Binger gets here)

59 days to the Season
101 days to Christmas Day.
(The 100-day window tomorrow. WOW!)

A nice 71 outside here in Raleigh at this hour.
We had a REAL nice soaking rain last night.
I'm sure that at least put a dent in the drought.

Ah! the good old Captain. I saw him here in Raleigh about 10 years ago at a book signing.
And who remembers Romper Room?
(If you do, then I bet you remember the "Do Bee" song!)

Have a Stupendous Saturday, friends!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

I not only remember Romper Room...I was ON Romper Room!! I won a coloring contest (3 cities entered!) and the prize was a colossal Jungle Gym, not the wooden kind but the classic steel one. My entire family drove up to Lansing and sat in the audience when I was on the show. I don't remember "Miss so & so's name...Miss Sally? I think I froze up when the bright lights hit me but I managed a weak hello to "Mom & Dad". Yes, the Do-Be song..do this, don't do that...When my Jungle Gym got delivered, every kid in the neighborhood was there!

Remember swinging so high on those swings that you felt the entire swing-set lift into the air? And going around and around and around on those Monkey Bars...OMG.

10/4 Jay! Keep On Truckin'!

Wow, Cedar - you lucky puppy!

My understanding is that Romper Room was sort of "franchised", with each local station having its own teacher. Those shows would be telecast only in that geographical area.
Other cites would see their own local teacher on the show.

"I always do what's right.
I never do anything wrong.
I'm a Romper Room Do-Bee -
a Do-Bee all day long!"
(I still remember that after all these years. Did not have to Google it!)

Good Afternon Everyone !

Just stopped in to say Hi. Gotta go to work.

Yes I remember Romper Room too.

hmm isn't all cofefe powerful?? It is for me.... gotta have some right now......

I think I saw Crown asleep onthe romper room mat one day.... theyw ere napping while Miss Conniee looked inthe magic mirror ( vain little thing) and talked about good hygiene....

cheesy My brother watched Romper Room more than I did. I think he had a thing for Miss Betty. I didn't like the way she talked to the children. I remember one time a boy wasn't behaving quite right and after the commercial break he was gone.

That's cool you were on the show Cedar.

As for your coffee query, Crown - I'm thinking Nescafe.

I gave my cousin a birthday card a few years back that had the following lyrics on the front:
"Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never find that recipe again"

And inside it said: "if you are old enough to remember that song, face it you're old."
