October 07 = 90% (The Home Stretch begins)

Crown et al
I have a question about the special countdown tradition.

Are we running a pre-post 90% special for 4 - 3 and 2 day counts leading up to Oct. 7th or are we waiting until closer to Nov. 13th to launch our special sentiment posts?

:snowball: Have to be prepared, ya know.

The old memory is getting a bit hazy (been inhaling too many of Binger's coffee fumes, I guess) but my recollection is that we do the 4-3-2-1 day sentimental posts just before the season launch of Nov. 13.

42 days to the Season.
84 days to Christmas Day.
5 days to the 90% Home Stretch mark! (Can you believe it??)

Overcast outside this morning with the temp at 64.
No rain predicted until tomorrow, however.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, one and all!

<< OK, Carl, OK! >> Carl wants me to remind Binger about his presence in the next opera chapter. He wants to make an entrance through the shispering pines.
(Gee, that camel!)

The season is almost upon us!

stop the presses... hmm rewrite rewrite....

Carl enters throughthe shispering pines and immediatelyhe is beseiged by Jay and Binger as they desperately needed a jolt of java....

You mean the memory isn't awake yet- admit it... you woke early- it was actually before 1:00pm....

Umm, well, you may be right.
This morning, it was CARL who woke me up, jumping for joy now that he anticipates opening your next opera. He's already preparing a special watermellon-coffee blend for his 3rd hump.

41 days to the Season.
83 days to Christmas Day.
4 days to the 90% Home Stretch mark. (Wow!)

Good morning, fellow Christmas nuts.
It's a nice 67 outside here in Raleigh at this hour.
Again overcast, but without rain.
I love it like that. So easy on the eyes as you walk outside.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, guys!
Carl sends his usual Happy Hump Day greeting, too.
<< What, Carl? Oh. Sorry. >> Make that "Happy HumpS Day". (Gee, that camel!)

What's this??
No one in the thread for a full day??
Is everyone asleep under the shispering pines?
Zonked out on bad coffee?

40 days to the Season.
82 days to Christmas Day.
3 days to the 90% Home Stretch mark. (So close!)

Well, if anyone is reading, Good Morning!

Foggy here in Raleigh at this hour with the temp right at 70.
Showers a possibility today and tomorrow.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, folks.
.......And we all know what tomorrow is!!

I'm not always posting, but I am always reading...And I really appreciate your keeping the countdown train going!

I thought I woke up in London this morning...Fog like you wouldn't believe!!! And very warm...Highs in the 80's with the possibility of 90 this weekend...Certainly not fall weather...I like it really crisp and clear, expecially at night...But we've had summer weather for days now...

Everything is going to be alright! No matter what way it goes...Change is in the air...And change is good, right? Right? Hello? Somebody tell me change is good!!! Can I get an AMEN? Oh well...Blessed be the meek for they shall inherit the earth...Hey that's pretty catchy...I gotta write that down...;)

Beautiful fall day here, when WILL this spectacular weather stop? Day in, Day out...blue sky & fluffy white clouds, day temps in the 70's, night temps in the 40's, oh the gorgeous fall color, balloons and bicycles, happy shining people....make it stop!...we need some rain...we need more shispering.

Thanks for the positive outlook Jay!! Change can be good~I've heard tell...lol...I see more fall color on the horizon.

Back to the grind. Not beans either, although a nice cup would be just the ticket.

Where on EARTH is Norfolk??

Good Afternoon Everyone !!!

And a great afternoon it is indeed. It's almost 80 degrees as we speak. Wow ! I'm trying to get all my outside stuff done while the weather is so mild. I'm almost wondering if we tore two months off the calendar last month instead of just one. It feels like early Sept here in Chicago. The trees are still in the very first stages of change. Maybe they know something we don't.

Crown - I think it's so quiet here because everyone is watching the count with such wonder as it dwindles down. It seems we just got started (on the other site) and here we are at 40 days. I think you have left everyone speechless . . . . . . I think.

Song for today: Andy Williams - The Christmas Song

I was going to change my signature to stay warm, but it's so warm out, I'll wait a few more days.

Gotta go to work. Later, my friends.

Very muggy today, alot like summer....can't wait until those crisp fall days set in, then winter....27 days until Halloween, 49 days until Thanksgiving, 81 days until CHRISTMAS!!!

I was busy yesterday- the shispering pines needed some trimming.. and then there's the rewrite.. what's shaking Cedar? HEY JAY....... Ohhhhh Crown..... wakey wakey....

Muggy here today also- nice in the AM.... by the afternoon however, I needed some shade from-- you got it... the shispering pines...

( make them stop.... please......)---

:hello: Thanks for putting the old mind at ease there, Crown. Yes indeed our ceremonial posts bring us into the season itself. So I'll have to wait closer to Nov. 13th to share my thoughts.

Not all thoughts have to wait.

I was thinking this morning "why is Kool-Aid song playing in my head". Then it dawned on me, it's so warm here, it feels like summer. Oh yeah! Our temps pretty much matched those JayIsh and Iron Eagle have been experiencing. Although it is starting to get darker earlier and more leaves are welcoming Fall with new shades of red, orange, yellow, burgundy, etc. And then of course there are the pine & cedar trees growing along the creek too and they are staying green of course.
I noticed another tree coming home yesterday from work. I was shocked by what had happened to it. It is half-dead, but still trying to hang on. It's mostly trunk and branches with a few leaves in clumps in a few places and some totally bare branches. What shocked me was the burgundy-red-brown colours running up and around the trunk. I didn't notice it before, maybe it grew that way after our brief rainfall. Some kind of choke weed is growing up the trunk like vines adding colour to the old tree.
Guess I better snap a photo of that too before it's too late.
And the Dragon Tree photo and a few beautiful Fall images will be revealed soon.
Stay tuned to the same Christmas/Fall channel, folks!

I picked up a few more small Christmas presents tonight after work. Strangest thing, my husband suggested I do it.

Hey, our Wal-Mart has a selection of Christmas Cards, some Christmas trees and two Christmas Black Bear door greeters. It's not much, but it's a start.

I don't think I'll get a chance to chat and catch up again until late Monday night.

So for the Canadian members -
Happy Thanksgiving! :carve:

~ Looking forward to that next Opera, Bingster!

Ah, Eagle. You always know just the right thing to say!

39 days to the Season.
81 days to Christmas Day.
2 days to the 90% Home Stretch mark. (Almost there!)

Seventy-Two lovely, walk-friendly degrees here in Raleigh at this hour.
Looks like it might rain any time but we are dry so far, albeit with fog.

The weekend looms just ahead! Anyone have interesting plans?

Our annual state fair begins a week from today - something we never miss - the lights!, the displays!, the food!, the mattresses! (Uh, well, actually no mattresses).

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends!
And a Wonderous Weekend to boot!

77*f here with 68% humidity. Yuck. Bring back the fall weather! Bring on a good hard freeze! After all:

Today is Friday, October 05, 2007. We have 81 days until Christmas!
We have 1934 hours until Christmas!
We have 115984 minutes until Christmas!
We have 6959014 seconds until Christmas!

We've got snow forecast in the valley tomorrow! Got the firewood and cocoa ready to go when the white stuff rolls in...

Ok now I am jealous!!!!
I want snow!!! Like everyone else it is warm and humid and forecasted to get even hotter, pushing 90 by Monday. YUCK! YUCK! and more YUCK!
I had to put the air back on, can't handle this humidty.

I miss having a fireplace. We had a wood burning one in our first house but this house does not have one. Oh well, we will be selling this house come spring anyway. My mom just moved in with us due to health problems. We only have a 3 bedroom house, now need to get a 4 bedroom house but I REFUSE to pack and move during the holidays. Hopefully we can find one with a fireplace if not we will add one!!!!
