We do all the Easter ones while we dye eggs. Of course not as many as Halloween or Christmas. But Yogi Bear's Easter is pretty good. The First Easter Bunny doesn't have great production values but does have a great message. And has been said elsewhere about Christmas movies, I give animated holiday specials a little bit of slack.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Can you believe we are just ONE DAY away from our 2nd Jack O Lantern day? Just seems hard to believe. And when you look at the other counts and what is looming up ahead, WOW. We are almost at the peak of the mountain now folks, and going down the other side that leads us into THE BERS will soon become much, much, easier!

Thursday is going to be a special day here, as we have our post- Jack O Lantern Day rundown, and as I mentioned April is going to be the home of several Milestone Days across all of our holidays that we love. So we are going to do the "April Preview" which I think is the first thing of its kind in this thread.

Have a great day!

31 days until Halfoween just seems RIGHT. And then at the reverse of that number (13) is when I'll begin listening to the "13 Days of Halloween" podcast and counting down to the big day itself.

And who says April is boring? (Actually, I think it was me who said that...but I'm quickly changing my mind!)

Happy JoL Day Eve, fellow spooks!

Hope you all enjoy celebrating just a smidgen of Halloween tomorrow here in the midst of Easter week. But speaking of Easter, we've arrived at the last time this year that we'll be discussing an Easter candy for the Seasonal Candy of the Week! Are you ready to see the final choice?

This week's selection should come as a shock to no one. It's hard to imagine Easter without at least seeing a Cadbury Creme Egg somewhere, if not in your own hand.

1617107894042.png
There are now several varities of the Cadbury Egg, but the Creme Egg is undoubtedly the most iconic. There's even a couple of different sizes of the Creme Egg; either a normal egg-sized single egg or a crate full of mini-eggs, and undoubted more sizes exist that I haven't seen.

As a kid, I remember LOVING these, but as I got older I found they started tasting sweeter and sweeter every year until I could no longer finish a whole one. Now they're just too sweet for me. The caramel variety is not much better.

And there you have it: the final Easter-themed selection for 2021's Seasonal Candy of the Week. What's your take on the famous Cadbury Creme Egg? Love 'em or hate 'em? Let us know! For next month's Seasonal Candy picks we'll briefly turn our attention towards some more traditional Halloween selections in anticipation of Halfoween!

HAPPY JACK O LANTERN DAY #2!!!

Jack O Lantern Day #2.jpg
Good Morning and HAPPY JACK O LANTERN DAY! I have been waiting for this day for a while now! In a way, Jack O Lantern Day sort of started for me last night. I was out for a walk after dinner, and the wind had started picking up, and I felt the temperature drop a good 5 degrees while I was walking through the neighborhood. The smell of wood smoke was in the air too as several homes were burning fires. I've always said that smells are a big part of memories. And with the moon coming coming up, it was ALMOST October again for a little while.

On to today, I hope it is a Jack O Lantern Day enjoyed by all. My mission to obtain Cherry Cider was complete, my electric Jack O Lantern is hanging up and turned on, and the Halloween tunes will accompany me on the drive to work this morning. Getting home later tonight, we will begin the movie marathon. "Darkness Falls" and "30 days of Night"

And now a glimpse into my brain:

I promise if you could be in my brain every day, this is what It is like. You can almost smell the leaves and wood smoke!

Happy JACK O LANTERN DAY to ALL!

Morning Halloween Fans. This is the last day really until we reach that Halfway to October day. Can you believe that? I remember when October started last year how amazing it was. Have a great day!
That's right, less than 24 hours now. I remember earlier in the year debating on whether or not to include the "Halfway to October" in the count, but decided against it. Seeing now that there is such an interest obviously in simply reaching the month of October, I really think it is going to be an addition to the 22' Countdown. At first I was concerned about having too many items in the "list". But then I realized it was sort of fun to start the count each new year with several items and then get the satisfaction of watching items drop off / count down one by one. Great addition to point that out, Edge! You always make the countdowns awesome!

I absolutely love this! I was hooked after the first few minutes. I'm going to keep this playing in the background while I'm at work today. Part of the beauty of working from home is that I can play this on an endless loop and not have my co-workers wonder if there's something wrong with me. I'll just get the occasional raised eyebrow from my wife who is all too familiar with my love of October - December.

And there's a third volume too! I'll have to check that out on YouTube as well.

Happy Jack o' Lantern Day!

one of those candies I'm not a fan of but glad they exist. I like seeing them as a sign winter is ending. But, no...wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. Far too sweet.

I love this, I have it playing the the background. Thanks for sharing Solidsnake.

Morning Halloween Fans! I'll let our esteemed leader give the good news on today but boy you can figure it out. April is here. Do the math. A new month has begun. October? On the other side of us now. I see you October across the way. The journey back there truly has begun. Have a great day!

Aww shucks, thanks for the compliment but I don't really consider myself the "leader" here on this thread. Rather, I feel like it takes a village.

As Edge has so eloquently pointed out, reaching April 1st is a big day. We are today OFFICIALLY HALF WAY BACK TO OCTOBER!!

Halfway to October.jpg

But before we go any further, let me update the counts here very quickly, because there is a lot to unpack today. Post Jack-O-Lantern Days are always this way, but it is especially true today as we have reached a milestone day and there is still lots to cover

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 213
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 183
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 29

Okay Folks, stating the obvious like Edge pointed out this morning, we are now HALF WAY back to October. I mentioned a few days ago that our "climb" so to speak was about to get much easier as we are now descending down the mountain instead of going up. HALF WAY is a huge deal. A HUGE psychologica
l boost. We knew that reaching April was going to do that for us. And that's where we are at this morning. I want to run down on JOL Day #2 very briefly. It was awesome. The weather cooperated, and having Cherry Cider on tap, along with the pumpkin candles going really made it "feel" like one of those October nights we all daydream about. If Jack O Lantern Day #2 was this good, then Halfoween is like its big cousin on steroids. Seriously I cannot wait.

So now let's get to the "good stuff". April is totally packed with milestone days, across all of our favorite Holidays. In fact unless I am missing another month, I can't think of one that has as many milestone dates as April does.

Today, April 1st - HALFWAY TO OCTOBER
Sunday, April 4th - 150 DAYS TO THE BERS
Monday, April 19th - 250 DAYS TO CHRISTMAS
Friday, April 30th - HALFOWEEN (Halfway to Halloween)

That's almost a milestone each week. And sprinkled in there somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd milestone on that list, will be the official start of "Christmas Hunting" in Hobby Lobby! Is there anything better?

A big shout out to everyone yesterday who participated with Jack O Lantern Day and helped me plug it on some of the other threads.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday. In closing, I woke up this morning with no side effects whatsoever from my vaccine that I got yesterday! Have a great day!

I got literal goosebumps reading this morning's countdown post. Seeing the "Halfway to October" across the top of the Snoopy Show Halloween episode image and seeing the Halfoween count at 29 days and reading about all of the upcoming April milestones just gave me a huge dose of the Feels. What a great way to start the workday.

Halfway to October, folks! The ride just got so much better.

Morning Halloween Fans! How are you all feeling this morning? A cold one here but hey it's April so we'll bounce back quickly. April...the month on the other side of the year to October. Have a great day!
