DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 203
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 173
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 19

Good Morning Halloween Fans! I am back today and no worse for wear from yesterday, my first competitive running race in 525 days! My calves are only a little bit sore, and I honestly think I feel better after yesterday's race than when I did the same event in 2019!

Getting right down to business today, we have some "kind of serious" looking numbers to take in today. First thing is first, we are THREE days away from that all important 200 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone that I mention so often. I talk about it so often because that's how important it is! Another step forward, and a huge psychological boost!

New set of digits today for the "Halfoween Count". Now at 19 days and counting. It will really be something when that one gets down to 10, and we are literally counting away the final days on here until we get to HALFOWEEN on Friday, April 30th!

Have a great Sunday, folks!

It really is amazing how much of a psychological boost it is, too. After the cutover from 200 to 199 it's like the gap has closed tremendously, and it seems like in no time at all we're at 150...100...and the time just melts away.

So far I think this is probably the best year I've had as far as the offseason goes. Usually by this time of year I get bogged down and a little depressed since there's not really much of anything going on up until Leon Day. And I'm sure I'll have the occasional "blah" day between now and then. But having MMC this year and all of the different counts and milestones has done so much good for me psychologically. Ironically, instead of taking my mind off of the wait, it has given me a lot to look forward to!

WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 24
WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 28

Good Morning! The first thing that really jumps out at me this morning is our "weeks" counts are both down in the 20's. That's really something. Think back just real quick to when we started these countdowns in November of last year, seeing the high numbers weren't really painful because we still had the "bonus months" of November and December to cut into the count. But those would have been some rough numbers to digest had it not been for those last two months.

Just as spring is showing us blooming plants and new blossoms on the trees, we here on the Halloween thread are also seeing the "fruits of our labor" so to speak.

We stand a mere two days away from reaching the all important 200 Days to Halloween milestone. I thought about it all weekend just about. Any time there was a quiet break, dreams of Fall & Halloween danced through my head. I did cheat and played my Halloween playlist (now significantly boosted through the submissions here on this thread), while I was doing the 4 mile trail race. Hearing the Halloween sounds while I was in the woods was really something.

Halfoween is drawing close guys. Under three weeks now! I said back in January during one of my first plugs for Halfoween, that April was the new October. And thanks to the excellent comments from Edge detailing just how much April really is like October, I don't think I will ever view the month of April quite the same ever again! Have a great Monday, folks!

I can't wait for the 150 and 100 days until Halloween. We'll need them to help pull us thru the dog days of summer.

I started seeing lovebugs arrive in our yard this weekend. Not a good sign for us South Texans. We only see those little buggers at the beginning and end of summer. The fact that they're showing up already means that summer has kind of "unofficially" started here for us, and from this point on the heat is just going to get more oppressive.

I know the first day of summer doesn't fall until June 20th this year, but for me Halfoween will really be "Spring's Last Stand." It will be a special occasion, to be sure, and I'm going to channel all of the cool Fall feelings that I can into the celebration. It will be the last time that temperatures are comfortable here until the Bers, but just like @SolidSnake84 said in the Bers thread today - the first cool Bers day will just be that much more special!

Good Morning! Today we are standing on the doorstep of an important milestone, the all important 200 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. With as exciting as reaching that tomorrow will be, I am getting a little bit of the jitters thinking of waking up Thursday morning and seeing both of our counts down in the 100's.

With the cool weather in the morning and of an evening, it is hard to not constantly have visions of the fall and October.

On a side note, my Reese's peanut butter Easter eggs are almost gone. I looked for more last weekend, thinking some would be on clearance even though Easter had just happened, but they were GONE. It is significant because I believe now that we will not see special "themed" Reese's candy again until late this summer when the Halloween pumpkins & Ghosts come out. I figure from today, it's around 4 months until the pumpkins start appearing in the grocery stores again.

We got this! Have a great day!

Hey, fellow spooks! It's another Tuesday and another day closer to our Halfoween celebration here in the Halloween Countdown thread. To continue with our current theme, this week's Seasonal Candy of the Week is another Halloween selection...but with a twist!

This week we're looking ahead to a candy that will be available on shelves for Halloween 2021! The last time we saw this particular candy was in 2017, but they're making a comeback this year: Cookies 'n Scream M&Ms!

I don't remember trying these four years ago, so I'm eager to pick them up this year. It looks like this will be a dark chocolate coating with a white chocolate inside. Sounds delicious!

The reveal was just posted yesterday, and I'll post a link to the source below, but this is exciting since we should see many more Halloween candy leaks coming down the pipe as more retailers and businesses begin to reveal their Halloween plans.

Are any of you planning on picking these up? Did you try them the first time around back in 2017 and have a good or bad experience? I know I'll have a bowl of these handy, for sure.

Good Morning Friends! We made it! MILESTONE DAY. Today marks a very serious turning point. We have reached the 200 Day milestone to Halloween. We will wake up tomorrow and have both of our counts in the 100's. It's very surreal.

The halfway point draws ever closer. I'm looking forward to playing a little bit of the Halloween playlist today. Later this afternoon, I might fire up Ambient Mixer. Tomorrow, beings that it is the official HALF WAY point in the month, I am going to have some updates about my Halfoween celebration. All the details have been ironed out now and I think it is going to be a smooth running machine. I've left some stuff for you below so you can "tap into" the Halloween ambience a little bit.

Have a great day, friends!

Unreal. It just doesn't seem like it can be that close, but the numbers don't lie! Looking forward to having both counts in the 100s tomorrow and starting the "13 Days of Halloween" podcast in just three more days!

Morning Halloween Fans! I saw my friend CW mention in the Thanksgiving Thread his kids are basically ready for Halloween already since Easter is over. Chips off the old block! Have a great day!

My told me the other day that his STEAM teacher is helping him make his Halloween Costume. She is going to count it as project grade for him. He wont tell us what his costume is though.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Like Edge said, It is something to get up and see both counts in the "1"'s this morning. Well yesterday I said that I would have some updates on my Halfoween celebration, so without any further delays here we go, now that everything is worked out. I think being at the exact mid way point in the month is the perfect time for this.

Halfoween 2021 is going to be a special, 2 day event! We will kick off the festivities beginning Friday night on April 30th, and run all the way through Saturday, May 1st, at which point we will have crossed over the halfway mark and are officially on the other side to Halloween! I have some things to still find this week to go along for my celebration, but they are minor. Like my orange porch light, and I want to make sure that I have enough sand to weigh down my orange pumpkin candy buckets to serve as lawn decorations. Plus we will see an appearance by my giant laughing Halloween pumpkin from Costco! As always, Apple Cider on tap.

The second part of my announcement, and I have no special or flashy splash graphic, but beginning on APRIL 23rd, I will begin watching "Channel Zero: Candle Cove", each evening. There is exactly 6 episodes of the first season, and I will watch one each night to lead me into Halfoween. I strongly encourage anyone who likes a creep factor and mild horror to check it out. SyFy's original and maybe best show they ever created!

Have a great day friends, Happy Halfway through April!

I really like the idea of Halfoween being a two-day celebration. That just seems right. Now to come up with some Saturday plans!

And wow...here we are with both counts finally in the 100s. 199 days until I sit down with "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and ring in the beginning of the holiday season. I get all kinds of feels just thinking about it.

This year I feel confident that there will be trick-or-treating, at least in our neighborhood. There were people here trick-or-treating last year during a pandemic! This year though I'll feel comfortable enough to take the kids, as long as the vaccine rollout continues on its current trajectory.

As for other events, like our local Fall Festival, I'd love to be able to go to that also as long as it's not canceled again.
