DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 193
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 163
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 9

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Did you happen to notice the "Days to Halfoween" count this morning? That's right, single digits now are separating us from "Halfoween". I got home last night from work and guess what was on TV on SyFy? Rob Zombie's Halloween! It was nearly at the very end, so I enjoyed for just a few minutes.

And on that note, it seems like Halfway to Halloween seems to really have a TV presence this year. Maybe it was always that way and I never noticed. But I'm seeing commercials and stuff for it now.

I'm excited. Especially the next few days when I start my "final countdown", and begin watching Channel Zero: Candle Cove. 6 episodes, 6 days to lead me to HALFOWEEN. I can't wait!

Have a great day!

The "13 Days of Halloween" podcast is starting to pick up steam. The stories are creepy and mildly disturbing, which I guess is exactly how you'd want a Halloween podcast to go. And there are hints at something else going on behind the scenes, so it's like a horror and a mystery rolled into one. Good stuff!

Today also begins another 13 day count: 13 Days until we hit the 150-day mark to October 1st!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 192
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 162
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 8

Good Morning and Happy Thursday! Another FREEZING day here in Northern Virginia. Last night was one of the coldest nights we've had, even when we were still in "winter". Really bizarre and unbelievable.

I've got to go make a Hobby Lobby Run today or tomorrow, now that our good friend @The_Escalation has discovered that his local Hobby Lobby now has Christmas items for sale. Mine had theirs in tubs three weeks ago on the top shelves, but have not yet made their way down to the racks. Maybe today is the day?

I've also got to head up to the farmers market to get my Apple Cider in preparation for next week's HALFOWEEN CELEBRATION, an awesome, special 2 Day Event, that is now just a mere 8 days away!

Have a great Thursday, friends!

Minor correction: I WISH that it was my local Hobby Lobby, but our buddy @Rich is the one actually who found those items. Upon seeing the pictures of his finds, I tagged you in my excitement because I knew you'd be excited as well. Also I think us three are probably the most hardcore Christmas Hunters on these boards.

Good job @Rich !

We hunt in a pack and alert the others when we've found our prey. :)

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 191
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 161
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 7

Good Morning Halloween Fans! We really have a great weekend to look forward to. Not only is tomorrow Rudolph Day Eve, but I begin starting my six days of Channel Zero: Candle Cove, to lead me into Halfoween. Now just 7 days away!

Sunday is Rudolph Day! I can't think of anything better than when get to "sample" our favorite holidays like this. Just a good feeling.

It looks like the horrible cold weather is gone now, and we are just left with that "Bers" like weather that we always talk about. Tonight is the last of the wood pellets. I will then move into using the furnace of an evening. It looks like I will make it to Tuesday without needing to buy anymore fuel. On Tuesday, the weather jumps back up into the 70's, and stays that way for as long as I can see.

I'm excited for the weekend, friends!

Have a super Friday!

I'm halfway through the "13 Days of Halloween" podcast today and thought I'd give some impressions so far.

Without spoiling anything: I think the episodes are a perfect length. Not too long or short and good for listening to in bite-sized chunks, especially during work.

That being said, of the seven stories told so far, only two of them have been thoroughly engrossing. Maybe I'm judging too harshly, but it seems like most of the stories are being told just for shock value, and there's really not much of a supernatural element at play here. Maybe that factor will ramp up during the final six episodes, but for a podcast series titled "13 Days of Halloween," it's been a very slow burn so far.

That's not to say the stories are bad at all; I've only heard one so far that I thought was skippable. The storytellers are all pretty convincing actors. The sound production is also decent and sounds even better if you have headphones on. The one blemish on the whole production is, as I mentioned a few days ago, Keegan Michael-Key's character, who just doesn't sound convincing. Maybe it's because his voice is so recognizable, but he uses a pretty terrible accent, and there are moments when he's supposed to come across as menacing but just can't pull it off. Again, this is just based on the first seven days, so I'm hoping the last six days will convince me otherwise.

Would I still recommend it? Right now, it's still an enthusiastic yes. I just hope the payoff doesn't disappoint.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 190
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 160
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 6

Good Morning and Happy Saturday! Today Is a double awesome day because not only is it RUDOLPH DAY EVE, but it is also the day that I begin my "final approach" to Halfoween! Today will begin the 1st episode of Channel Zero : Candle Cove.

The chill in the air, along with knowing that FINALLY I will have a spooky / Halloween type show on the TV tonight means that it ALMOST feels like one of those October weekends we all love and daydream about.

But look at the counts! Tomorrow will see a new set of numbers for "Days to Halloween", breaking into the 180's, and our "Days to October 1st" will FINALLY break into the 150's. That means we will hit the 150 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone on May 4th, roughly a few days after Halfoween! Another awesome milestone so close after Halfoween? Works for me!

Awesome Channel Zero promo:

Have a great Saturday, folks!

Today has some Halloween feels in my neck of the woods. It is overcast and windy and I have a tree in my backyard that doesn't get any leaves until so it is still bare and the branches are doing that Halloween wave.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 189
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 159
DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 5

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! And HAPPY RUDOLPH DAY! You know, as Halfoween draws so near now, it dawned on me yesterday, while we were having absolute perfect dreary "October" weather, that tonight's Rudolph Day Film should be "The Nightmare before Christmas". Now I realize, that the film doesn't get a lot of love on the boards here, as opinions on it are mixed, but I really can't think of another film that does such a great job of blending Halloween and Christmas together!

The counts are sure something to take in this morning. "Days to Halloween" down in the 180's now, but just look at "Days to October 1st", that one is in the 150's!

The weather just cooperated so much this weekend. If this would have been our Halfoween weekend, it would have been just perfect. Maybe we will get lucky next weekend. Either way, it will be fun for all that celebrate.

Day 2 of Channel Zero : Candle Cove!
