DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 89
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 59
DAYS TO THE BERS: 29
Days to JOL Day: 28

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's amazing what a difference a day makes on our daily counts. Down in the 50's now on our count to October, unbelievable.

We have a few more days of this nice "Ber Weather" before it creeps back up into the 90's to start the beginning of next week. One thing I know about temperature swings like this, this late in the season, they don't last.

Another Michaels run is in my future. You know, I was thinking the other day about how August for me really is like "Fall Preseason", and I thought about uncorking the rest of my Fall Decorations, maybe like one week early, and setting everything up the last week of August. And I think I will do that.

Have a great Tuesday!

Like the first flowers of spring, the derpy pumpkins have sprung forth to greet us with their gifts of fun sized treats....

I'm so glad someone else uses the word "derpy" besides me. There is a large pumpkin made out of a haybale that the Walmart here rolls out every year, and they put a face on it that I can only describe as "derpy":

I did this last year. Highly recommended. I thought I'd get weird looks from the neighbors, but it turns out that everyone else followed suit!

Seasonal Candy of the Week time!

Since we're in the Bers preseason, seasonal candy is not hard at all to find. @cgmcav already provided us with a lovely display this morning, and my wife was able to procure some Reese's Pumpkins from Dollar General yesterday. So today we're going to have a "Throwback Tuesday" situation where we take a look at one of the most underrated seasonal candies of all time!

Behold, the Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cup:

(Did we already cover this one? I don't think we did, but I seem to remember posting about it. Maybe in another thread.)

Take the peanut buttery crunch of a Butterfinger bar, smooth it out a little, and put it inside a Reese's-like chocolate cup, and you have one of the tastiest Franken-candies the world has ever experienced. When these first debuted, I would pick them over a Reese's in a heartbeat.

Sadly, you may never get to experience the joy of these delicious little square cups (yes, they were square-shaped). Whereas Nestlé used to own the rights to Butterfinger in the U.S., candy company Ferrera bought them out resulting in the Butterfinger bar being reformulated and the discontinuation of any Nestlé offshoots, including this peanut butter cup. I haven't seen Ferrera produce a replacement yet, but I'm crossing my fingers that I'll see them again one day.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't post the ode to this candy written and performed by pop-rock band Relient K:

Now, I think I need a Butterfinger today.

Anyone know when Spirit Halloween stores are going to be opening? I thought it was supposed to have already happened.

I'm hearing that a lot of places did not get a Spirit Halloween this year due to economic conditions or what have you. I haven't seen one here yet, either. The website said they were opening stores towards the end of July...

Just saw Halloween display of Snickers, Twix, Kit Kat, and Reese's. Oh, and most importantly Great Lakes Oktoberfest beer!
Oktoberfest/festibiers are my favorite style of beer. Have not seen great lakes yet here but i'm sure it will be soon.
. It seems most of the stores around here have the candy. I really am not a huge candy guy, but man do i love milky ways. I tend to just eat them around Halloween though.

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

Another day closer to the weekend, I find that Wednesdays always seem to have a comfort about them. Many of us daydream about weekend plans / chores around this time of the week. I'm daydreaming of Fall right now, with sprinklings of Halloween here and there. I'm so glad that August has another JOL Day. It's the last one of 2021, and it's coming up now in just a hair under four weeks.

I haven't been to Michaels' yet this week, but one of my friends has posted that they are just about full with Halloween stuff. Last year at this time, Michaels even started putting out Christmas stuff!

Have a great day, friends!

So my wife found this yesterday online. It’s a new Fall blend of coffee from Joffrey’s, and she knew I would like it because Joffrey’s is one of my favorites (I daresay it’s better than Starbucks, but that’s a debate for another day).

It took me all of 0.5 seconds from the time she showed it to me until I had ordered a bag:

Our local Smith's (it's what Kroger's is called here) has ceramic jack-o'-lanterns out, so can more be far behind? The place where the Spirit store was two years ago is now a mattress place so that doesn't bode well. I saw on the front porch about 10 last night and I swear I could feel a little autumn breeze.

Our stores here have Halloween candy out already and have for awhile. I've already purchased some Brach's candy corn and the mellowcreme pumpkins. Wanted to share this really cool picture I seen online. It was taken in 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA the picture description said Homes Halloween Children's costume shop located on the 3rd floor. ♡

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

Today is Thursday, like Edge said, there is something great about Thursdays. Maybe it is because you are almost to Friday, or maybe it is because most of us by Thursdays have weekend plans and stuff we want to do, and are thinking about that.

I'm a day closer to the weekend, where my plans involve looking at a lot of Halloween Items. Tonight I'm going to Hobby Lobby to get some new gold lights for my all-year tree, I haven't been able to light up the "August" decorations yet on it because my gold lights that were several years old died. And then I'll visit Michaels and Jo Ann Fabrics on Saturday.

TODAY is a BIG DAY over in the Christmas Countdown, I get to officially ring in 100 DAYS TO THE SEASON, which is a pretty big milestone. Come check it out.

And keep a Halloween thought in your head. Have a great day!

Halloween cash saving tip (possibly): Sometimes Joffrey's shows up at Marshalls at a pretty decent discount. Maybe the pumpkin will show? I'll definitely check. Thanks for the heads up if it exists.
