Morning Halloween Fans! Hope all is well as we head into the last weekend of summer. In the old Halloween threads we used to say the Halloween Season began the first friday of autumn. That would be next week. Have a great day!
That's a great idea! Help me count down to it / ring it in! I will add it to the counts, and when the "new" Halloween thread for 22' is created, we will have something else to count down to!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Another wonderful September weekend is upon us! Sweet spot weekends, they really are the best, aren't they?

You'll see we have a new, last-minute addition to the count, thanks to our friend Edge. We should have been counting down to Halloween Season all along, but this was an oversight on my part. Growing pains for my new thread, and I think "next year" (Gosh it's too early to already be saying that) will flow a lot smoother.

Last night, I saw a commercial for AMC's "Fear Fest" for the first time. And I got the feels. I have no idea what the lineup is yet for this year, but as soon as it comes out, I am going to post it here. I also enjoyed posting last year the daily lineups for not only "Fear Fest", but SyFy's outstanding "31 days of Halloween".

Have a great day, Halloween friends!

I went ahead and brought out my Peanuts Halloween "Village" this morning and set it up, I usually don't put it out until the very end of September or October 1st, but I put out my Fall/Harvest decor early too, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I couldn't wait any longer!

Morning Halloween Fans! Yes, Ryan who used to run the thread years ago SS always said that the first Friday of Autumn began it. Just a suggestion but maybe we should make it (at least next year) the first day of Autumn? Halloween = Autumn...it doesn't really have to be Friday. If Autumn begins on a Saturday you lose 6 days waiting till Friday. FYI - In 2022 it begins on Thursday, September 22. Have a great day!

I agree with this suggestion. None of us want to "lose" any time, so I think starting our "Halloween Season" on the first day of Autumn works for me. As always, thanks for the feedback!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 42
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 12
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON : 3

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Nothing finer than a Fall Sunday, with cool weather outside, and NFL football on the horizon for later today. That's about as "sweet spot" as it gets.

We didn't time warp in the countdown this morning, this is a revision from the previous post, and I agree with Edge that instead of waiting all the way to the first Friday of Autumn, we should begin "Halloween Season" on the 1st day of Autumn, since nobody wants to lose any time. And as you can see our "Halloween Season" will begin on Wednesday, September 22nd!

News starting to trickle in now about the full "Fear Fest" schedule, and what movies are being featured. It again this year will be the entire month of October (I think 2020 started the trend of being a month long), and so far their official twitter account has dropped some big names, they will have "The Exorcist", "Trick R Treat", and also teasing that some of the "Insidious" movies will be on there!

I remember when we had to wait for the final two weeks of October for Fear Fest to get going. I'm hoping that from now on its a full month long!

Here's what we have confirmed so far, this site updates often as more movies are confirmed. Looks like it has a very solid opening lineup, perhaps maybe the best ever:

Have a great day, friends!

I love your Peanuts Halloween Village!!!
Thanks! I haven't added to it in years but I love all of the pieces I have, and it was lovely to come home to it all lit up last night.

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

Well, it's here. The arrival of "Halloween Season", and it is happening on Wednesday. The other big deal in the thread at the moment, I feel, is that we have left only ONE full week of September. I will go on the record and officially say that September went by way too fast. I LOVE this time of year, I hope that somehow we can pump the brakes and when October gets here, it doesn't fly by. Edge, I know how it feels now with you trying to put the brakes on Summer and me all the time trying to speed it along.

I'm just imagining how the counts will look here in just a matter of days. Halloween Season will be gone. Days to October 1st, will be gone. Weeks to October will be GONE. I'm already thinking just a little bit about "Next Season", and how much fun it will be starting with all of the counts, and then little by little, chipping away at them. But that's a long way away.

Have a great day, friends!

I gotta get my kids their costumes ASAP. Halloween season definitely snuck up on me despite us counting down to it for the entire year. I agree with Snake: September has gone by entirely too fast.

I love how all of the channels and streaming services are already rolling out their Halloween programming blocks. Even Discovery+ has their own section called "Ghostober" this year. I'm not a huge fan of the "ghost hunting" shows, but I saw a few documentaries on there that I'd like to watch.

@DecemberisComing, I'm borderline obsessed with all things Peanuts, so your Halloween village definitely caught my attention. It's phenomenal! Where did you find all those pieces? Did you just collect them over the years or were you able to find all of them at once?

Cutest thing ever!!!!!. So very fun. I was determined to not put out Halloween stuff until a little closer to October but my will power is probably not what it should be because I gave in and put up all my inside stuff on Friday. My tote with the outside stuff is sitting by the front door and I have to keep resisting the urge to go out and put them up.

Thanks, Escalation! I have accumulated them over the years, with the larger pieces coming from Department 56 via eBay, others from Hallmark, and some from random places like CVS/Walgreens. I enjoy them very much. Department 56 does have a new Peanuts Halloween Village piece out this year, I don't love it and it is $200 so I am really trying to convince myself that I already have exactly what I want!

Thanks LadyLynn! I am glad I am not the only one whose will power is not what it should be!

But, I am a bit tempted by this piece from Dept. 56 this year...
