Two weeks until Halloween and I am loving that the extra weekend is falling in October, I don't have anything as fun as a Halloween lights show to go to like Edge, but I do have SyFy and some great weather so no complaints here (except I would have loved to have today's weather last Sunday for the Great Pumpkin hunt)! LOL!

The Movies That Made Us on Netflix now has episodes covering several classic Halloween movies, including the original Halloween.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 13

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We are now UNDER two weeks until Halloween!

That's a scary thought! October, which once felt like it was cruising along at a leisurely pace, now feels that it is accelerating.

Even working outside yesterday, the cold wind seemed to scream out "November" instead of our beloved October. Truth be told, I am not ready to be this far through October.

Have a great day!

You and me both! This year's Bers really has been going too fast.

Also, 13 Days to Halloween is the perfect number! I feel like there should be some kind of special Halloween marathon on television today to commemorate it.

October is zipping right along. But I've really been enjoying it. Festivals, Halloween movies, decorations, pumpkin bread, apple cider, and MMC. I think I need to get some more decorations for my office. This is all I have.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 12

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Another chilly start to the morning today, before getting up to a high of 68 degrees!

SyFy has been playing the John Wick movies the past couple days on repeat. Not really "halloweenish" IMO, but I am sort of happy it took until past the midway point of the month to start playing what I would call "Halloween Duds".

I'm more interested in staying up until 10PM to watch the second episode of the new "Chucky" TV series. I didn't think I would care for it, but it's pretty good!

Have a great Tuesday, folks!

I saw that last night. I do enjoy the john wick movies but what would make syfy call that a halloween movie and play during there halloween marathon. I agree definately a "Halloween Dud!"

Is it really only 12 days until Halloween? The costumes have been bought, the candy has been eaten (what? The kids will still get plenty), and everything is in place for year 2 of the Great Pumpkin Egg Hunt. Nothing to do now but bask in the spookiness until the big day.

I was driving to pick up some pizza last night for dinner, and I was playing my Halloween playlist in the car with another awesome October sunset as the backdrop. And I got a little sad. I started thinking how in another 12 days I'd have to retire this playlist until next year, and another "spooky season" would come to an end. I hate thinking those thoughts, but they come anyway, even though we are poised for some great times ahead as we enter the Christmas season soon.

So, I'll have my ambient Fall and Halloween sounds on in the background at work, and I'll keep my Halloween playlist on rotation nonstop for the next 12 days, and I'll watch so many Halloween specials until I can't watch anymore. I want to enjoy these last 12 days before this thread resets and the countdown begins anew.

I bought my jack-o'-lantern pumpkin yesterday, from a local church that sells them as a fundraiser. They get them from the Navaho nation in New Mexico (a fundraiser for them, too), and had some 2,500 very nice specimens arrayed on the front lawn.

The lady asked me if I planned to carve it, and I wondered for an instant, "What else would you do with it? Eat it?" before answering Yes, I have personally carved a pumpkin every year year 1966. And that's true! (Except for two years when we were out of town for Halloween.)

So we talked about designs, carving tools, technique, and the like. Always nice to meet a kindred spirit. I'll be getting out the serrated knives and the cleaner-outer power drill attachment on October 30.

It was hard to go back to work today and have to stay inside, I am going to head back out to sit on the patio and enjoy the wonderful October weather. I hope it stays through October and even into November.
