Happy Wednesday Morning! Continuing to fine-tune and add some last minute things for Jack O Lantern Day, which is just a few more days away now! Does anybody remember the Disney Movie from the 80's called "The Watcher in the Woods?" I remember it being one of the very first scary movies that I ever watched with my Mom. Yes, it's true, Disney once upon a time kicked the tires on producing horror movies, and "The Watcher in the Woods" was one of their forays into this. I hadn't thought of the movie in many years until one of my friends shared an article from ScreenRant about the 10 scariest movies made by Disney!
It is free to watch on Apple TV, so we are probably going to start off Sunday morning with this one. Possibly Saturday night, but we will see.

Nice! A Disney themed horror film should be right up my alley. I wonder if it's on Disney Plus?
I honestly don't remember any of my Halloween costumes. Sad but true. I think I was a Ninja Turtle one year?
One thing I do remember is one year my dad bought this grotesque vinyl zombie mask. That thing freaked me out as a kid. I remember one day he was hiding in my room with it on, and after he jumped out and scared me I had nightmares for DAYS. I hated that thing. Years later when I was older I found it on the top shelf of my closet, and I still couldn't look at it. It's probably still up there.
It is not on Disney Plus. It can be purchased from Disney for around $20.00 on DVD/Blue Ray.
Darn. Well, looks like I'll be firing up Apple TV then, although I've been mad at them since the whole Peanuts debacle (as I type this on an iPhone...sigh).

Good Morning! Closer and closer now to the 90 days to Halfoween marker. Can it really be so close? I'm finding myself constantly double checking these numbers.
We are watching a BIG snow event for this weekend now. I have heard anywhere from 6 inches to possibly up over a foot. It looks like I'm finally going to get to do my whole "fire pit in the snow" thing. And also, as typical for our area, we will have a snow like that, and then immediately after it gets nice again. We have upper 40's and one day even in the 50's immediately following the snow event.
That makes me think that most likely, we will have more of the crisp & cool, October-like weather that we know and love by the time we have JOL Day #2 in March, and not potentially this polar station on Sunday! Have a great day, friends!

Not only do we have our first Jack O Lantern Day of 2021 on SUNDAY, but a lot of the northeast is going to get a snow event from Saturday Night - Monday evening. We are gonna see 7 inches on Sunday, and another 6-10 on Monday / Monday Evening! First ever Jack O Lantern Day in the snow. What a thing!

Good Morning Fans of all things October, Spooky or Creepy! It is my duty to WARN YOU, that we have a MILESTONE, DEAD AHEAD!
TOMORROW, we will celebrate reaching the ONE QUARTER point to HALLOWEEN! And we will do it in style by having our first JACK O LANTERN DAY of 2021!
Now granted, some of us might have a different looking Jack O Lantern day, with the major snow storm that is now on its way. I live in Northern Virginia, so snow in October is pretty rare, but it has happened before. In October of 2011, it snowed 8 inches here just a few days before Halloween!
There's a big one coming here again, probably anywhere from 12 to 14 inches of snow. I am going to make sure to take my firewood that I split last weekend for JOL Day and put it inside one of the sheds so it doesn't get snowed on tonight. I'm going to have that "October" fire tomorrow, even if it is snowing! Hope you guys have a great Saturday!

1/4th of the way to Halloween and just 90 short days until Halfoween! I gotta be honest: These are the milestones I'm most excited about as they mark the beginning of the "Christmas Triumvirate." It also doesn't hurt that they're the closest out of all the holiday milestones (with the exception of the Bers).

We are now under 90 days to Halfoween, as we are pursuing dual milestones now, some would say maybe even triple milestones, as the race toward Halfoween, 1st day of Spring, and the start of "Christmas Hunting" begins at Hobby Lobby! 48 days now until the Spring, barely even a month and a half.
Today's Jack O Lantern Day will be the first ever Jack O Lantern Day held in the middle of a snow storm. I plugged in the electric Jack O Lantern at about 5:30 this morning. Up later this morning, is "The Watcher in the Woods". Probably around 2 or 3:00, "Dark Arts Sunday" will begin, with the first two Harry Potter films on tap. Pumpkin candles and wax warmers will set the tone. I hope you all have a wonderful Jack O Lantern Day!
