You do kind of get that sinking feeling when the site goes down. Only because you really have no way of finding out what's going on. It can be caused be a multitude of things. I run a few websites myself and it puts me into a panic when one of them go down. But it doesn't happen very often.

Michelle and I were talking a little about Halloween decorations today. I told her of my plan to get an inflatable pumpkin. She liked the idea. She said it just can't be 12 foot tall. :p
So it is going to be 11 feet, 11 and a half inches?

WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 24

Good Morning Halloween Fans! Another chilly October-like morning here! I've said it a million times but I think this is the coldest May that I can ever remember. I get reminded of October, and The Bers every time I step outside in the morning and start up my truck before driving into work. That is a good feeling.

Look at those week counts! We are one week away from seeing the "Weeks to October" count get a 1 in front of it! And also in a week we will be down in the 130's on the "days to October" count. Those numbers are starting to look sort of serious! And they should, because here in just about two weeks we are all going to buckle up for our 100 day ride back to the Bers. I won't be in the driver's seat on that one, that is our good friend Edge who always does a great job with the Bers countdown. But I acknowledge it on here because I think The Bers is as much of a part of Halloween as anything! Have a great day, friends!

Michelle and I went to the Home Store/Garden Ridge yesterday. I didn't see any Fall/Halloween items. But I really don't expect to see anything like that until next month. My "records" show that the earliest I've found Autumn décor there was on June 22nd. So we may have a few more weeks. But I'll keep checking.

We did pick up a few Fourth of July decorations.

So excited to think that next week the Weeks to Halloween will hit the teens! I am having Halloween like weather here too, and all I can hope for is that we will have May like weather on Halloween! LOL!

Good Morning Friends!

Another chilly morning here. Yesterday was a gorgeous "Fall" Day. You would be surprised at the people who texted me / reached out yesterday to tell me how much it felt like Fall!

That's really why I'm trying to enjoy this for as long as it lasts. It has been a really fun time, because I can't remember another May where it felt SO MUCH like October / November.

Our "fall weather" most likely ends on Thursday, as after that it gets in the 70's every day for the 10 day forecast, and even over night it only stays in the 50's. I think that will be it, although I said that last time before it got to the cold snap again. But I really feel that as we approach closer and closer to JUNE the cold weather has to leave, right? At this point I fully expect to have a "Dark Arts Sunday", and Jack O Lantern Day to close out May with it being HOT. But you know what, that might make it extra more special because if it is too hot, we can reminisce about how great it will feel when we get back to cool weather again!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Fellow spooks! I've been absent for the past couple of days taking care of some work duties and making sure that my daughter gets sufficient sleep and nutrition for the latest round of standardized testing at her school, but I've still got time to pop in here on my lunch break for the Seasonal Candy of the Week!

Today, however, we're taking a slight detour...trust me on this one. We'll return to our regularly scheduled candy-gazing next week. No, today instead I bring you some Halloween treat news of a different variety.

Most of you should be familiar with General Mills' line of seasonal monster cereals: Count Chocula, Franken Berry, Boo Berry, and the much-lesser known Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy. I personally go scouring for boxes of Count Chocula every year. For 2021, we're getting a bonus box, as General Mills has decided to lump all five of these cereals into an abomination known as "Monster Mash."

The box describes it as "Artificially flavored berry cereal with monster marshmallows" which makes you wonder where Count Chocula will fit in here, but nonetheless, this is a strange and wonderful Halloween surprise. Will it be tasty? Does the thought of mashing five cereals together scare you away? Who are Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy, and why am I just now hearing about them? Why are we talking about cereal when this feature is supposed to be about candy?

Alright, that's enough questions for one day. Discuss whether or not you'll sink your teeth into a bowl of this when it hits shelves in roughly 100 days time!

And as always, fellow spooks, have a frightfully wonderful Tuesday!

Oh my husband is gonna freak. I know I will be on the hunt for these for him.

Nope, not me. Can't stand those alleged "marshmallow" bits. They put my teeth on edge, like chewing tin foil with fillings in your teeth.

Good Morning friends! Today is forecasted to be the "last" Bers Like Day in our forecast for as long as I can see. Tonight's overnight low gets down into the 30's. I've planned for the occasion by gathering up a wheelbarrow of sticks & small branches so I can have "one more" Bers-like fire in my fire pit. I know there will be other times over the rest of this summer where I will burn out there, but they just feel more special when the air is cold like this!

Seeing the cereal post yesterday made me get excited for "Boo Berry", which is our official Halloween cereal at this house. If memory serves me correctly, It should show up in grocery store shelves around the end of July, very early August! Will be nice to see once again!

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday, almost at the MIDWAY point through the month now. Scary and Amazing at the same time!

I've loved Franken Berry since I was a kid, but I won't be trying this stuff! o_O

Good Morning! Last night was cold indeed as our area was under a frost warning! I don't think it got to freezing, but it got close.

Today we will largely be saying goodbye to the "bers weather" that has been in full swing for roughly the last two weeks. It was certainly interesting and different. But after today it will be time to enjoy what is left of the spring. Sadly, there will probably be only 2 - 3 weeks of "nice" spring weather before the horrible heat and humidity arrives. That's okay, because I think of that as the "last challenge" before getting back to that sweet spot that we all love. And it's coming soon enough!

We are a little over TWO WEEKS until our next JOL Day. Can you believe that after this month, there are only TWO MORE until we find ourselves BACK IN THE BERS? It doesn't seem possible, "Halloween Season" so close by!

Have a great Thursday, friends!
