DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 20

WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 3

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

What a great weekend it was. Scary movies all weekend long, and yesterday's return to Hogwarts with Dark Arts Sunday beginning the HP movies again. Very strong dose of The Feels!

Folks, we now have only 3 full weeks left until Halloween! And I can't believe we will hit the halfway point later this week! I am really starting to feel the magic in the air, there is holiday stuff EVERYWHERE now. Try and enjoy every moment that we have. We should all be doing that anyway, but it seems to be extra important in The Bers / This time of year.

Have a great day!

Awesome pictures @DecemberisComing!
Looks like they had a blast. :)

Thank you for the pictures, @DecemberisComing. In spite of the rain, it looks like it was awesome.

@DecemberisComing, that looks like it was an awesome Great Pumpkin Hunt, even despite the rain! Love the pictures! I'll bet your family had a wonderful time! And the backdrop and decorations are brilliant!

Thank you all! It was fun despite the rain, and as always I enjoyed the prep just as much as the actual day, but I did feel bad for the adults, especially the moms. Toddlers are a lot of work, wet toddlers can't make it any easier.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 19

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The last couple days sure has felt like the October we all know and love - cool weather, gloomy outside, almost constant cloud cover.

I am hoping for some sunlight today because we are starting to get these crazy different mushrooms / fungus growing on the ground. Almost like being in an alien world! The warm weather, coupled with the constant moisture and lack of sunlight is a breeding ground for all of the mushrooms. Very cool!

I hope everyone enjoys this October Tuesday!

Well Solid, I am thinking that this is the time of year for the yard to start looking like an alien-world. But just be careful to post everyday so we don't assume your yard is an alien world and you have been sucked in!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 18

Good Morning Halloween Friends! There's an incredible FOG outside right now. It rolled in last night. Going outside, you can hardly see your hand in front of your face! Really spooky. The way the fog looks under the street light in my front yard, sort of makes me think of that famous shot in "The exorcist".

I'm hoping for sunlight today! It has basically been cloudy / non-stop drizzle for 4 days!

Have a great day, friends!

It really is wonderful to be here in "the thick of it" with Halloween basically everywhere right now. This weekend hopefully the weather will follow suit, and those October feels will get cranked to 11.

Still haven't watched "The Nightmare Before Christmas," but I'm planning (again) for this weekend. I also want to get in "Garfield's Halloween" sometime before the halfway point.

Hitting the teens in our countdown really is making me appreciate the remaining days and with the rainy weather watching spooky movies feels perfect!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 17

Good Morning Halloween friends! Only one more day until "Halloween Kills"! I bet Edge must be excited. I know I am. I will be watching it from home. Long ago, I decided, that if I can help it, a theater will never get my money ever again. And we only really have one theater here in my town, the Alamo Drafthouse, and quite frankly it sucks to be honest. Not everything can be blamed on the pandemic. Even before the pandemic hit, they were down to just about a one page menu on food / drinks. Very underwhelming. I hope I never have to go back, but I'm sure one day my wife will want to see something that is only in theaters, so I will have to trudge through it.

Yesterday was "Wednesday the 13th" on Syfy, they had a Jason marathon. I thought it was pretty cool, I wouldn't have expected it. I looked on the calendar, and next year "Wednesday the 13th" happens only once, in April of 2022. You know where I'm going with this. Since it is roughly "half way" in the month, and about 2 weeks before what will undoubtedly be a big "Halfoween" celebration weekend, I think old Jason might show up that day. Just saying.

Have a great day friends!

I won't be seeing "Halloween Kills" this year, but let me know if it's any good. Mike Myers is still an interesting character, and I'd like to see where they're going to take this rebooted story.

Also, I heard some advice once about restaurants, and that is, typically, if the menu is small or means more items are made there fresh in the restaurant, but a restaurant with a large menu means most of the food is frozen and reheated. Now, I don't at all think this is the case with Alamo Drafthouse seeing as they are a movie theater first and a restaurant second; their stuff is likely all frozen too. But maybe a one-page menu elsewhere would be a good sign.

My sister in law used to work there a few years ago when it was still "good". Almost everything there is frozen. Nothing is made fresh, despite what the menu would have you believe, lol.
