*MILESTONE ALERT*

350 Days until Halloween.jpg

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today we have reached our FIRST milestone of the 2022 Countdown, and that is the 350 Days to Halloween Milestone. Pretty snazzy, no? And I know what you may be thinking, "Wasn't Halloween only two weeks ago"? Precisely. Look how fast time went. That's because we are enjoying these "Bonus Months". The 350 day milestone for Christmas and Halloween is one of my favorites. As mentioned yesterday, it is the first little gentle reminder that shows that time is indeed moving.

I hope that everyone has a great day. Upon the conclusion of today, our NEXT milestone (Can there be another so soon? Yes, yes there can) will come into view, clocking in at just under three weeks away from tomorrow's count, and that is the "300 Days to October" milestone.

There will be no discussion subject / topic today, because it is a milestone day, but we will do that TOMORROW!
Have a great day!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The first milestone of the 2022 countdown is now in the rearview mirror, as we gear up to celebrate another milestone in just under three weeks, and that's when we reach the 300 Days to October milestone. That's a pretty big one on this thread.

But yet, something is missing from our counts. I had to go back and look at last year's thread just to see where I made the error. Luckily for me, it's an easy one to fix. The countdowns will be expanded tomorrow, and we will see a welcome addition up top. Eagle-eyed calendar viewers might already know / suspect what it is.

Today begins our weekly "50 Questions" series on this thread. We will count down the weeks until Halloween with one topic a week. Should be fun! Today's question:

Do you think Halloween was better a few decades ago, or is it better now?

I personally think Halloween was better a few decades ago! I'm big on nostalgia, but it just seems to me that Fall lasted longer, and in general there were more spooky activities. Schools would decorate classrooms for Halloween, they would have little Halloween parties, it even seemed like time was simpler and safer! Wish I could go back in time to experience another Halloween from when I was a child!

That's it for today, folks. Have a great day!

I'm in agreement that Halloween was better a few decades ago, if only because we lived in a different world then. It still had its dangers, of course, but maybe we were more naive to them? It just seems as though Halloween was a much safer activity back then.

And I think that the reason that Fall seemed longer is because "Christmas creep" wasn't nearly at the level that it is today. You see Christmas and winter items go out somewhat earlier now than you did in the past, and that has pushed the Fall and Halloween items up into August when it's still the dead of summer. Not that any of this bothers me... I do love seeing Fall and Halloween stuff in August!

Oh yes, the Christmas creep! Actually one of my favorite things! Because it HAS made Fall stuff come out sooner! Hobby Lobby this year had straw bales and pumpkin stuff at the end of MAY which just made me so happy to see! In my lifetime, I wonder how much sooner we will see "Mainstream" stores push Christmas stuff. Will we ever see Walmart bring out Christmas Trees and stuff at the same time they start putting out Halloween items? It would be amazing for those of us who love the holidays, no?

Great 1st of 50 questions SS! Personally, I feel Halloween (the actual October 31) was better years ago when I was a kid. More kids went out back then. Less kids go out now. It felt a little more special. And I was a kid so personally I could go trick or treating. That's my answer for October 31.

However, the Halloween SEASON is better now by far for me. I do so many more activities and take in the whole month of October. When I was a kid it felt like a waiting game till Halloween.

Morning Halloween Fans! Anyone watching the Chucky series on USA? I have been. I always found him funny in a horror way. The show got a lot of great ratings. Have a great day!
Oh yes, I have been watching Chucky since it came out earlier this year! It's the very last thing that I have still going from "Halloween Season". Next week is the very last episode. I hope there will be a second season!

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

Today I am happy to bring back to you a "new" addition to our main countdowns, and that is the Halfoween countdown! I thought it would be fun to add it on here today, as it marks exactly TWO WEEKS until we reach exactly 150 Days to Halfoween. At the 150 Day mark, It is just under FIVE months until our new favorite spooky April holiday. And the best part of that, is that for the most part, two of those months are going to zoom by because we are having such a great time with Thanksgiving and Christmas.

These countdowns will really be fun in January when 2 more make their way to the lineup. I always find it fun to have so many, and then watch them drop off over time.

Have a great day, friends!

Good Morning Halloween friends! Nice to see the three countdowns keeping us company. We're under 2 weeks today until the 150 days to Halfoween milestone, and just a hair over 2 weeks until we reach 300 days to October. Time marches on. It goes easy now that we are in holiday season.

I made another batch of cherry cider yesterday because I had some ingredients left over and I didn't want stuff to go bad. It hit the spot. Instant dose of Fall / Halloween "feels". I figure I will take it along with me to Thanksgiving dinner next week for if anyone wants it, otherwise I will have it to enjoy. Probably after that though, I won't make any more until January and we get close to Jack O Lantern day time.

Have a great day, friends!

Sorry late to the party for the question. Lol. I pretty much feel exactly as edge mentions above. The day itself is not as good but the season is so much better.

The whole holiday creeps for each holiday/season may not be great for some but it really adds extra time on. Its great for a holiday fanatic like myself.
When i was a kid we did not put up our Christmas decorations until the second week of December! One of my Grandparents did not put up their tree until Christmas eve. I don't even remember many decorations for Halloween back then. So Holiday commercialism does at least have that as a positive.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Did anyone happen to watch the eclipse last night?

I went outside at 4:00 in the morning and the moon was just about 95% covered. It was red, very creepy, like something out of a horror movie! Supposedly this type of eclipse that happened last night will not happen again for 548 years!

It was awesome and made me think of Halloween. The wind was breezy and the shadows from the trees danced around, "Halloween shadows" as I call them!

Have a great day, friends!

I saw it at about 50% covered at 5:00 AM.
